Reuters: "Nearly 1,660 Afghans cleared by the U.S. government to resettle in the U.S., including family members of active duty U.S. military personnel, are having their flights canceled under President Donald Trump's order suspending U.S. refugee programs" (h/t @BNODesk)
There's a plethora to choose from. I bought an Apeman C550, am very happy with it. Only downside is that it's front only.
Something to keep in mind (not so much for FrancisK, more for the guys looking), make sure that there's an option to save the settings. I ordered an off brand ("comparable to the Apeman you've previously ordered") with a rear camera, but it wouldn't save the settings. So every time the vehicle powered off (even with the hard wire voltage sensor kit), it would go back to Factory Settings.
Now they have dash cams that, with the applicable app, can download the video directly to your phone. I've got my oldest shopping for one of those (that'll be one of their Christmas presents, right now they have an inexpensive Wallyworld one that plugs into the cigar socket). If the price is right, I may get two and replace mine as well.
I've seen them as high as $500, as cheap as $25. Even with the $25 one that powers off with the cigar socket, something is better than nothing.
In response to Trump executive orders, the Coast Guard announces it will immediately surge boats, cutters, aircraft, and specialized forces to the southeast border around Florida to prevent mass illegal migration from Haiti & Cuba, and will also surge resources to:
•The maritime border around Alaska, Hawai’i, the U.S. territories of Guam, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, American Samoa, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands;
•The maritime border between the Bahamas and south Florida;
•The southwest maritime border between the U.S. and Mexico in the Pacific;
•The maritime border between Texas and Mexico in the Gulf of America; and
•Support to Customs and Border Protection on maritime portions of the southwest U.S. border.
(Note Gulf of America)
@USCG statement: “Together, in coordination with our Department of Homeland Security and Department of Defense teammates, we will detect, deter and interdict illegal migration, drug smuggling and other terrorist or hostile activity before it reaches our border.”
From the outside as a civvy, the USCG send to be the best and 'purest' branch to enlist or become an officer in. Interesting ports of call, lower likelihood of foreign deployment (some cutters forward base overseas for base protection, I get that), most of the time you spend training, and 99% of time you're truly doing God's work for man and country by rescuing mariners, assisting ships at sea in trouble, interdicting border-crossers, and doing humanitarian missions.It looks like plenty of people in the USCG still are patriots, and as soon as the boot of woke upper management was off their necks, they started acting like it.
