The EU mandated a new bottle cap type sometime in 2024 (maybe earlier), that has a little tether holding the lid to the bottle, so when you put the bottle up to your mouth, the cap presses against your nose, or maybe your cheek. It's to keep the lid from being thrown away separately from the bottle, instead of getting recycled. Totally worth the annoyance and discomfort, or so the EU bureaucrats believe. Some people find you can hold onto the lid with one hand, and hold the bottle up to your mouth with the other, and this helps to keep the lid from pressing against your nose or cheek.
Maduro's bottle clearly lacked this feature, which must be offensive to all EU officials.
That additional plastic tether looks like it could strangulate a mess of snail darters or maybe some baybee seals.
Time to take a quick step back here. There is no regime change, and if preliminarily reports are correct than the US isn't even seeking to knock over the decripit brown narcocommie dictatorship in Caracas in at least the short term either. Instead it is for the considerable time being actually looking to work with the Chavistas, a cooperation which would translate to the US takes over the oil rigs and refineries and turns them into privately secured money-making fortresses, whilst the rest of dirtpoor Venezuela stays under Chavista rule yet cut off from its traditional benefactors and allies.
Why anyone in Caracas would agree with this is, is beyond me unless they are triple A CIA assets and in on the plan. It's been over 72 hours since that bloated barely literate bus driver got airlifted out of Venezuela and it increasingly seems as if Washington doesn't really have a plan. That's actually not true, they do have a plan but the plan is ramshackle. The plan was/is to shock and awe Venezuelan elites into cooperation, then have them voluntarily hand over the 17 trillion USD oil reserves, have them lord over the 20 million remaining bottom feeders for another 9-18 months, and then discard those same top dogs that now hold all the cards in Venezuela once democratic elections have been organized and executed - which will undoubtedly lead to Washington's preferred candidate winning. Also notice how the FANB/Bolivarian militias have stayed loyal to the Chavista regime so far.
Trump thinks he 'has Delcy Rodriguez on a leash'. He also stated that 'something far worse will happen to her than what happened to Maduro if she doesn't cooperate', aka a death threat. I think T's bluffing. I think he took a gamble and is feigning confidence as he's trying to goad, coerce and bribe all sorts of hardliners into giving up and walking away. I think he forgot that Venezuela is a 30 year socialist project manufactured by Cuban and Russian military intel agencies, with checks and balances built into the system and hardliners dotted throughout its ranks from top to bottom. I think the US needs to turn up the heat a couple of notches.
Yet at the same time it is by now clear the US cannot move its military dominance beyond death-from-above because the US public hasn't been primed for casualties+ mid to long term military engagements ergo won't accept anything beyond 15-50 bodybags going home. Getting tied up in the Americas is also not in Washington's best interest due to pivots towards Iran and the Indo Pacific. The Trump Administration is limited in its future moves, there is no regime change and this thing is far from over

Something is going on in Caracas, first it was said to be the next wave of US attacks, then an internal coup and then it was said to be a misunderstanding - one guy saw a drone and started firing and then everybody started firing.

Trump Administration is securing its hinterland before pivoting towards theaters were there's real opposition, seems pretty obvious from looking at the last 5 years alone. A hypothetical decision to not confront China - which is on a trajectory to overtake the US in power projection in the Indo-Pacific, not secure the vital trade routes, production sites and energy infrastructure in Middle East and beyond, and to not obstruct Russia+ China into securing the Eurasian Heartland (MacKinder) would mean the end of the USD as world reserve currency, the inability of the USN to impose hegemony, and by extension a possible fracture within the USA itself due to its highly polarized society and federal structures.
According to this, Maduro number 2 was captured and turned by CIA.
Judging by its belligerent rhetoric following rapid US militarization of the Indo Pacific Beijing doesn't seem to agree on that, the stage is being set regardless of the hot take of the day. Either way let's check in on Stevey Hou somewhere in the early or second quarter of 2026 when the bombs start dropping on the ayatollahs again and resource stricken China's energy security gets undercut a few notches further, man will look great alongside the other e-grifters with track records to boot

One critical aspect of taking the Venezuelan oil fields is to ensure that the oil is sold in Dollars. Maduro had been taking payments in other currencies and had joined China's CIPS system.
America's vast debt, which grew by another 2.3 trillion last year to 38.5T$, can only be sustained if the Dollar is the currency of oil trade. If the Petro-dollar collapses, so does the US financial system.
One trillion dollars of Venezuelan Gold and silver is being allegedlylooted set up for processing to cover a massive short position on silver which has threatened to bring down JP Morgan Chase and other banks. They have been caught out, having slammed silver every morning, for a long time.

I highly doubt Venezuela has $1 trillion in silver and gold.
