Meanwhile, a normie relative shared a vapid joke about Russians terrified of Ukrainians on the front over Thanksgiving meal. A co-worker asked me today - is the war still going? Wasn't Ukraine winning a few months back? These are decent folks, just clueless or misinformed.

This week, President Biden, SecDef Austin, and even SecState Blinken all hinted at the potential of US soldiers being sent to fight Russians. Do they really think that is advisable talk, or is it empty threat to pressure Rs to pass a spending bill?

There's a big disconnect. The American peoples disconnect from reality (not necessarily blaming the masses, we all know how they get their info) is a glaring vulnerability that could be used to bait us into a mess.

In the last week, there has been a noticeable activation of the front in the Lyman direction.

The immediate task of the Russian troops is the liquidation of the bridgehead of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the eastern bank of the Zherebets River. Advancement from the northern flank, from the Zhuravka Gully, is complicated by the nature of the terrain, so the offensive develops from the south, from Dibrova, towards Terny and Yampolivka.

The cleanup of the western part of the Shyrokyi Ravine continues, fighting is also taking place on the outskirts of Laptev Ravine.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine are trying to seize the initiative, using mobile infantry groups from the 67th Mechanized Brigade and the 12th Special Purpose Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine: the battles are taking place on the southern flank, from the Serebryanka Forestry, where the front line has changed since the fall: individual DRGs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reached the outskirts of Dibrova, so now the Russian Armed Forces are recapturing lost positions in counterattacks.

Despite the activation of the Russian Armed Forces in this sector of the front, a large-scale offensive is complicated by concrete fortifications equipped by the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Torske-Serebryanka Forestry-Yampil sector. If the possibility of eliminating the bridgehead of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the right bank of the Zherebets River is quite realistic, then an attack on Lyman will require crossing the river and clearing all territories up to the Oskil Reservoir - and this, given the current configuration of the front, will require serious resources and efforts."

Near Avdiivka, units of the Russian Armed Forces continue the operation to capture the fortified area of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in pincer fire.

The command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has set the task of holding Avdiivka at any cost: over 40 battalions from 8 brigades, transferred from the western sectors of the front, are concentrated in the direction.

On the northern flank there are battles for forest belts in the direction of Novokalynove and Keramik. The RF Armed Forces are positioned along the railway towards Ocheretyne.

The cleanup of the surrounding area of the village of Stepove/Petrivske, located west of Krasnohorivka, continues. The Russian Armed Forces control the northeastern outskirts of the settlement, while the Ukrainian formations managed to gain a foothold in nearby forest belts, so without their clearing, further advancement inside of Stepove/Petrivske, as well as towards Berdychi, is impossible.

On the outskirts of the Avdiivka Coke Plant, the main efforts of the Russian Armed Forces are focused on the destruction of the fortified area. At the same time, assault operations continue both from the northern flank and from the ash dump.

Despite the appearance on the Internet of information about the progress in the Ivushka dacha cooperative and along the treatment facilities, this sector of the front was taken by the Russian Armed Forces a long time ago.

To the southeast of the treatment facilities, in the vicinity of Kamyanka and up to the industrial zone, the Russian Armed Forces over the past ten days have managed to level the front line along the stream and approach the outskirts of the quarry on the eastern outskirts of Avdiivka. The video demonstrates the significant results of the Russian Armed Forces recently achieved in Marinka: Polihrafichna Street is located on a slight hill, so progress on the remaining sections of Shakhtarska and Kashtanova Streets will be simplified.

Intense clashes continue in the Lyman direction after a noticeable intensification last week.

Due to the slight advance of Russian troops in the area of the Shyrokyi Ravine, the Armed Forces of Ukraine regrouped and with the forces of the assault detachment of the 97th Battalion of the 60th Mechanized Brigade, with the support of one tank, attacked a stronghold of the Russian Armed Forces.

The situation remains the same in the Kherson direction: in Krynky, Ukrainian units continue to hold an occupied bridgehead, periodically trying to expand the zone of control.

Yesterday evening, the command of the marine strike group "Katran" of the Armed Forces of Ukraine strengthened its positions south of the greenhouses, sending an assault detachment of the 2nd Battalion of the 38th Marine Brigade, and two more groups tried to equip a Mk 19 automatic grenade launcher firing point, but they were hit by Russian artillery.

Later, closer to night, taking advantage of the worsening weather conditions, the Armed Forces of Ukraine deployed at least six new detachments from the 36th, 37th and 38th Marine Brigades, 5-10 people each by boat, which occupied houses in the central part. At the same time, over 20 wounded were evacuated back to the right bank.

In general, attempts of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to move deeper are still unsuccessful. The line of contact currently also runs along the outskirts of the forest and the central part of the village. And in this case, the goal that the enemy is pursuing by sending personnel as if on a conveyor belt is curious. Yes, by implementing this plan, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are able to fetter down significant forces of the RF Armed Forces. However, if this type of action continues, the human resources of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will eventually run out.

However the option of diversion cannot be completely ruled out: while all attention of the Russian Army is concentrated on Krynky, the enemy can prepare for actions in other areas, for example, on the flanks."

At the same time, a large-scale fire attack on the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Pervomaiske has resumed: aviation and artillery are operating in its western part, clearing the way for assault detachments.

The main task of the Russian Armed Forces in this area is a breakthrough in the direction of the 9th "Khimik" microdistrict. This will allow the Russian Army to cut the group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Avdiivka into pieces, break the unified defense system and significantly simplify the assault on the entire fortified area.

However, the Armed Forces of Ukraine do not intend to retreat without a fight and have concentrated over 40 battalions from more than 8 brigades in the vicinity of the city. The enemy also increased the number of cannon artillery guns in the area, as well as stocks of FPV drones."

Last night, Ukrainian formations made another attempt to attack the rear regions of Russia with drones: in total, the enemy used 12 long-range drones. According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, a total of nine UAVs were destroyed over the Kaluga and Moscow regions.

And until they are captured, the Armed Forces of Ukraine will still have the opportunity to counterattack. A striking example of this is the footage posted by the Archangel of Special Forces channel, which shows that the soldiers of the 255th Motor Rifle Regiment of the 20th Motor Rifle Rivision of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation were able to take positions along the road to Pobjeda and gain a foothold. But the enemy's attacks do not stop.

^Donetsk city will be shelled by Ukrainians until the Russians take Marinka and some points beyond. This battle is a testament to the value of long built fortifications. For all the firepower thrown at Ukraine, for all the dead Ukrainians and Russians who fought over this land, it is still somewhat held by Ukraine, forcing Russia to pay a high price and allowing Ukraine to keep shelling this very ethnic Russian city.

It's hard to believe we are 21 months into this war and this line has shifted so little. Credit to Ukraine and their (US) planners for what it has yielded for them. Such a fight will leave lasting bitterness for Russian planners. If the place topples, Russia would be foolish to not push well beyond - outside of rocket range - to secure the city and allow any peace to last there.

Russian troops continue the offensive operation in the Soledar direction. The main efforts are focused on gaining operational space to break into the fortified area of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the vicinity of Chasiv Yar.

Northern flank

The Russian Armed Forces managed to advance to the southeastern outskirts of Orikhovo-Vasylivka (fighting is going on for the Kudlin Ravine), expand the control zone from Dubovo-Vasylivka towards Hryhorivka, and also reach the eastern outskirts of Bohdanivka. The forest belt south of the eastern tip of Bohdanivka is still under enemy control, however Russian troops managed to gain a foothold on the Hryhorivka-Bohdanivka road.

To the south, fighting is taking place around the highway to Chasiv Yar from the Khromove direction. After the capture of the Bakhmut Autodrome, units of the Russian Army began to fire at the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to the west.

Southern flank

To the west of Bakhmut, the "Kamerton" detachment, formed from former fighters of the Wagner PMC, is clearing the western outskirts of the dachas in the direction of Krasne/Ivanivske. In the last two days it was possible to expand the zone of control in the residential sector.

After occupying the dominant height 215.7 on the northwestern outskirts of Klishchiivka, Russian troops are expanding the zone of control. From the heights, the RF Armed Forces control the supply routes and approaches of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to Klishchiivka.

To the east of Andriivka, the Russian Armed Forces are making efforts to regain control of the dams in front of the railway track.

Storming Chasiv Yar, located on the heights, head-on is a difficult task (mines, quarries and several forests cannot be taken at a swoop). Most likely, the Russian Armed Forces will bypass the fortified area from the north and south, which is why the offensive is being carried out in the direction of Hryhorivka."

Forward detachments of the Russian Army and reconnaissance groups identify enemy targets and coordinate fire strikes along the front line.

In Synkivka itself, attempts of the Russian Armed Forces to enter the village from the north have not yet been successful. Up to nine armored vehicles took part in the recent assault on Ukrainian positions: Ukrainian resources subsequently published footage of damaged Russian equipment at the northern outskirts of the settlement.

Fighting for access to the eastern outskirts of Ivanivka has resumed: fighting is taking place in a nearby forest belt, where Russian troops managed to push back the enemy a week ago.

The key goal of the Russian Armed Forces for the near future is a transport interchange near Petropavlivka. But, without overcoming the fortified area of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Synkivka, access to the gates to eastern Kupyansk is impossible.

However, even this did not prevent Russian troops from achieving certain successes: fighters of the Russian Armed Forces eliminated the last pocket of resistance of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Vinogradniki garden cooperative. The enemy suffered heavy losses and retreated in a southwestern direction.

Now the artillerymen of the Russian Armed Forces continue to “process” the strongholds of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, focusing on the 9th “Khimik” microdistrict and the approaches to Vinogradniki. Among other things, TOS-1A heavy flamethrower systems are used against targets.

Artillery preparation may indicate the readiness of the Russian Armed Forces for active actions as part of the plan to cut Avdiivka into two separate cauldrons."
