"Strike of the Russian Armed Forces on the bridge in Staryi Saltiv. May 11, 2024

▪️ Today, footage of a night strike of the Russian Armed Forces on a bridge over the Seversky Donets River near the village of Staryi Saltiv appeared, into which an X-38 aircraft missile definitely flew.
▪️ The object has a very interesting history: The first time the bridge near Staryi Saltiv was blown up by the Armed Forces of Ukraine themselves on March 5, 2022, in order to prevent the advance of the Russian Armed Forces in the vicinity of Kharkov. By the end of summer of 2022, the Armed Forces of Ukraine built a pontoon crossing next to the ruins to reach the other side of the Seversky Donets, and by the winter of 2023 it was partially restored, installing a railway span for pedestrian passage in place of the destroyed part.

Coordinates: 50.0770875, 36.8116638
▪️ Although the recording was made from a great distance and in the dark, in the video you can see both a powerful explosion and parts “moving away” in different directions. Therefore, we can confidently say that the crossing in this section is again out of action.
▪️ A successful Russian strike will complicate the logistics of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and hamper the transfer of equipment to the left bank of the river, which is especially important against the backdrop of the offensive of the Russian Armed Forces in the border area. Therefore, in the near future the enemy will obviously try to quickly build new pontoon crossings."

Kharkov - 11.05.2024

"The situation in the Kharkov direction as of 16:00 /Moscow time/ May 11, 2024

▪️ By the middle of the second day of the Russian operation to create a buffer zone in the border area of the Kharkov region, it became clear that the enemy had come to its senses and began to take measures to resist Russian troops. We wrote yesterday that the Russian group of troops only cleared fields and ruined villages where there were no serious fortifications of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Yes prisoners were taken, but from Territorial Defense Forces - the main fortified areas are further to the south.

▪️ Since night, the enemy began to carry out counter-assault operations, the use of FPV drones and "Baba Yaga" octocopters, and indiscriminate shelling of the Belgorod region and sabotage actions intensified.
▪️ Despite statements of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine about successful counterstrike, Russian troops repulsed the enemy's counterattacks and moved on.
▪️ On the eastern flank, an attack on Vovchansk began from three directions - northwest, north and northeast (Pic.3).
- From the direction of Hatyshche (northwest) assault detachments of the Russian Armed Forces managed to get hold of the outskirts of the city and reach the outskirts of the Korolenko Street. There, on the northern outskirts, one of the border guard soldiers was captured.
- From the direction of Pletenivka (north) Russian tropps advanced along the forest belts, to the vicinity of the old Vovchansk airfield and the furniture factory. At the moment the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are being hit by fire.
- In the northeast, the village of Tykhe, where the prisoners were taken the day before, has been cleared. After clearing the settlement, the assault continued on the Vovchansk farmsteads and, simultaneously along the bed of the Volchaya River along the Zarechnaya Street to Vovchansk itself from the northeast.
▪️ The situation in the city itself is still hidden by the “fog of war”, and from the footage available on the Internet, there is flight of local residents and looting. Evacuation of the city was announced during the day.

And according to unconfirmed information, the fighting is already shifting to the city center.
▪️ In the central sector (Pic.2), Russian troops reached the Starytsya-Izbytske line and suppressed enemy firing points in those settlements. There is no progress towards Buhrovatka from Ohirtseve yet, as well as movement towards Ternova.
▪️ ️On the western flank (Pic.1).
- Russian troops, after repelling enemy counterattacks in the direction of Strilecha, advanced to the village of Hlyboke. After clearing the settlement, battles broke out for the "Lira-1" gardening cooperative - the actual outskirts of the town of Lyptsi.
- Combat operations continue in the vicinity of Morokhovets and Olinikove. As for the village of Lukyantsi, it is still under the control of the Armed Forces of Ukraine - the North group of troops has approached along the bed of the Lipets River, and fighting is taking place on the approaches to the village.
- From the direction of Zelene, it has not yet been possible to advance to neighboring Neskuchne.
- As for Hoptivka, the situation in this area is shrouded by the "fog of war".
▪️ Apparently, the command of the North group of troops of the Russian Armed Forces made a decision to fragment the Ukrainian group of troops by cutting bridges and cutting off communications.
▪️ For now Lyptsi and Vovchansk are targets that should be taken first. Most likely, the first area of consolidation of the Russian army will be built along the Lyptsi-Vesele-Ternova-Starytsya-Hatyshche-Vovchansk line. But taking into account the nearby ravines and forests that are adjacent to the specified line, the task of the next stage of the offensive could be the occupation of Rubizhne and an offensive from Hoptivka.
▪️ At the moment, the offensive continues in a limited area: it is still unclear whether active actions will be taken in the west, in the direction of Zolochiv and Velyka Pysarivka, from where attacks on the Russian borderland have been carried out over the past year and a half."

May 11 - Russian missile strike on an airfield in the Dnepropetrovsk region.
Dnepropetrovsk11052024.jpg
"Strike of the Russian Armed Forces on an airfield near Manvelivka. May 11, 2024

▪️ Earlier today, footage of another effective strike of the Russian Armed Forces on Ukrainian aviation - this time the target was a field airfield of the Armed Forces of Ukraine near the village of Manvelivka in the Dnepropetrovsk region - appeared on the Internet.

▪️ Accurate missile strike destroyed two Mi-24 attack helicopters, which were completely burned out. Judging by the video, there were three more enemy aircraft nearby, although they received damage, it's unlikely to have been critical.
▪️ Today’s target was also located at a considerable distance: 75 km from the line of contact. This again demonstrates both a significant increase in the reconnaissance and strike capabilities of the Russian Armed Forces, as well as the weakening of Ukrainian air defenses due to the latest losses in air defense systems.
▪️ This is the fourth documented successful missile attack on the Ukrainian Air Force in the Dnepropetrovsk region. In March, the Russian Armed Forces destroyed two Mi-17V-5 near Novopavlivka (link1), and in April - four MiG-29 fighters at the Dnepropetrovsk airport (link2, link3).
▪️ Thus, in two months, in just one region, Russian troops managed to destroy at least eight enemy aircraft on the ground. Moreover, this includes only episodes that were confirmed by footage from open sources."

"The situation in the Avdiivka direction by the end of May 11, 2024

▪️ To the north of Avdiivka, Russian Armed Forces continue to build on the successes of previous days, expanding the zone of control in several areas and at the same time consolidating on previously taken lines.
▪️ After several days of attacks, assault detachments of the Russian Armed Forces advanced at the Ocheretyne-Arkhanhelske line - Russian troops cleared out the “pocket”, located to the west of Arkhanhelske, and approached the outskirts of Novoaleksandrivka.
▪️ In addition, Russian troops occupied the Kalinova Gully and advanced in the direction of the village of Kalynove. It is noteworthy that this was achieved with relatively small forces - the enemy is experiencing certain difficulties in transferring reinforcements to the front line.
▪️ At the same time, there are ongoing battles in the direction of the Sokil-Novopokrovske line. Russian troops storm enemy strongholds, advancing simultaneously from Semenivka, Berdychi and Soloviove."

May 12 - Ukrainian shelling of Belgorod.
belgorod12052024.jpg
"Strike of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on a residential house in Belgorod. May 12, 2024

▪️ This morning the Armed Forces of Ukraine struck Belgorod again. One of the shells hit a ten-story building on Shchorsa Street, resulting in one of the sections completely collapsing.

▪️ At the moment, 20 residents of the house are known to be injured; the death toll, according to some sources, has reached 7 people. Medics will be sent from federal centers and Moscow to Belgorod to provide assistance to the wounded.
▪️ Later the roof also collapsed, but there were no additional casualties.

▪️ There are different versions of how the blow was struck on the Internet. The Russian Ministry of Defense reports that the residential building was damaged by fragments of one of the Tochka-U missiles shot down in the sky. The version of the Russian Ministry of Defense about the Tochka-U strike would seem logical if not for the moment of the explosion: the explosion occurred from below, not from above.

Therefore, we insist on the version that the damage was caused by aviation bombs - departmental analysts can check this data by simply comparing it with the activity of Ukrainian aviation through the Okhtyrka district and the time of impact.
▪️ It is most likely that the strike was carried out by a French-made AASM HAMMER guided bomb from the airspace of the Okhtyrka district, Sumy region. Enemy planes were observed while approaching the attack, and also upon returning, apparently, to the Mirgorod airfield.
▪️ These bombs are limited to a range of 70 km, so the planes had to fly quite close to the front line to carry out the strike, the target of which could have been the Luch Thermal Power Plant, located on the same Shchorsa Street, three hundred meters behind the damaged house. The blow hit the third entrance of the ten-story building No.55A on the Shchorsa Street from the inside of the courtyard. The attack was carried out from the southwest side, and not the southeast, as other resources are trying to convince everyone. And from here we can draw several conclusions.
▪️ It is no coincidence that we insist on the version with aviation bomb attack from Okhtyrka: what happened clearly demonstrates that the creation of a buffer zone cannot be limited to the Lyptsi-Staryi Saltiv-Vovchansk area. Belgorod is being shelled not only from the south, but also from the west. The same can be said about Bryansk and Kursk.
▪️ Thus the Russian Armed Forces cannot plan to conduct a “limited” operation in the border area and hope that this will reduce the enemy’s fervor. It doesn't work that way. This tragedy once again confirms the need to create a buffer zone but not along the state border. Otherwise, such attacks on Russian territory with a fatal outcome for civilians will continue."

kharkov12052024.jpg
"The situation in the Kharkov direction as of 19:00 /Moscow time/ May 12, 2024

▪️ By the third day of the Russian offensive operation in the north of the Kharkov region, it became completely clear that the Armed Forces of Ukraine had come to their senses and are trying to build a defense and repel the advance of the Russian Army.

▪️ In the east, the attack on Vovchansk continues from three directions: from Hatyshche, Pletenivka and Tykhe. But the fighting is taking place only on the outskirts, there is no talk of advancing and expanding the zone of control towards high-rise buildings.

▪️ In the central sector, at the Izbytske-Starytsya-Buhruvatka line (Pic.1), assault detachments of the Russian Armed Forces put part of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to flight: Russian troops managed to break through the defenses near Starytsya and started fighting for Buhruvatka. Russian troops move freely through the clearings between the forests north of Starytsya and Buhruvatka, so we can conclude that they have complete control over the forests.
▪️ On the western flank, near Lyptsi (Pic.2), fighting is still ongoing in the “Lira-1” gardening cooperative. Lyptsi itself is under active fire by FABs, as well as attacks by field and rocket artillery guns.

And in the Zelene area, it is not yet possible to advance towards Neskuchne: there are battles at the junction of two settlements.
▪️ The offensive of the Russian Army is developing along the rivers, with the consistent cutting off of communications in the north of the Kharkov region: this allows the operation area in the border zone to be divided into small pieces, successively “chewing” them.

▪️ Ukrainian strikes on Belgorod, as well as the ongoing indiscriminate shelling of civilian buildings on Russian lands, once again confirm that the creation of a “buffer zone” is a necessary measure. However, without taking large agglomerations under the control of the Russian Army, it will not be possible to reduce the number of shellings and neutralize the threat from the Armed Forces of Ukraine."

"The situation in the Kharkov direction as of 10:00 /Moscow time/ May 13, 2024

▪️ On the morning of the fourth day of the Russian Army’s offensive in the north of the Kharkov region, no large-scale breakthroughs of enemy defenses were recorded. Having cleared the “gray” zone, assault detachments of the Russian Armed Forces focused on breaking into strongholds and defensive lines of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as knocking out reserves.

East
▪️ By the evening of May 12, the Russian Army took the meat processing plant in the north of Vovchansk and was clearing a shoe factory: these are the two main buildings on the northern tip of the city, from where the Armed Forces of Ukraine controlled the approaches to the city. Forest belts and fields from the north have been completely cleared and have come under the control of Russian troops
▪️ The zones east of the city are covered in the fog of war: an offensive is underway from Tykhe, but the scale of the advance cannot yet be clarified.
▪️ Judging by the strikes of Ukrainian artillery, stationed in Rubizhne and Pechenehy, Russian troops managed to advance to the city center.
▪️ However, there is no surrender of Vovchansk: units of the 57th Motorized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine arrived on the southern outskirts of Vovchansk and in Bilyi Kolodyaz, located 12 km to the southeast.
▪️ At the same time, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are trying to solve the problem with logistics and establish supplies across the Seversky Donets River: in the vicinity of Staryi Saltiv, attempts are being made to build a pontoon crossing.

Center
▪️ The fighting continues on the Izbytske-Starytsya-Buhruvatka line, and we cannot yet confirm the capture of these settlements.

West
▪️ There have been no changes in the Hlyboke-Olinikove-Lukyantsi-Zelene area: Russian troops are still knocking out Ukrainian reserves.
▪️ The arrival of assault units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine from the Poltava region is noted in the Kharkov region, which should strengthen the defensive capabilities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in this area.

▪️ At the same time, a scandal is breaking out in the Ukrainian media sphere in connection with territorial losses: the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate Kirill Budanov blamed the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Alexander Syrsky. The public squabble is intended to divert attention from problems at the front and “entertain” the population, while the Ukrainian command is frantically trying to solve the problem of the northern front bursting at the seams."

"The situation in the Kharkov direction as of 18:00 /Moscow time/ May 13, 2024

▪️ The Russian Armed Forces are developing an offensive in the north of the Kharkov region: the first confirmation of a successful advance in Vovchansk has appeared.

East
▪️The territory of Vovchansk north of the Volchya River dividing the city and east of the Sobornaya Street almost completely came under the control of Russian Armed Forces. Yes, the enemy may retain pockets of resistance, but the defenses in the northern part of the city have been broken.
▪️ Already in the middle of the day, fighting took place in the area of Korolenko and Gogol streets, and the territory of the Central Park and the multi-story residential area east of the lyceum were blocked and partially came under the control of the Russian Armed Forces.
▪️ On the western outskirts of Vovchansk, the presence of the enemy remains, including outcasts from the Russian Volunteer Corps (RDK).
▪️ After the destruction of the bridge across the Volchya River on Privokzalnaya and Gagarin streets,

the enemy has only two bridges left - a pedestrian bridge in the area of the Vovchansk Central Regional Hospital on the Shevchenko Street and a car bridge on Sobornaya Street (Route T-21-08). Another road bridge (Gurkanovsky) is located to the east, near the Vovchansk Aggregate Plant, but if it has not completely come under the control of the Russian Army by this hour, it is at least under Russian fire control.
▪️ Nothing is yet known about attempts to storm the Vovchansk Aggregate Plant, but it is possible that the enemy may try to rely on this plant in order to maintain a bridgehead in the northern part of the city. Two more defense centers are the Vovchansk Lyceum No.1 and the hospital complex, where, according to preliminary data, the heaviest fighting is taking place.
▪️ In the near future, we should expect the completion of the cleansing of northern Vovchansk: the tactics of Russian troops to cut off all communications, and well-functioning reconnaissance-strike complex are bearing fruit.

▪️ In other areas of the offensive in the north of the Kharkov region, the advance is not as large-scale.

Center
▪️ Near Starytsya and Buhruvatka, the Russian Armed Forces are clearing villages; it is too early to talk about complete control over those settlements.

West
▪️ Footage has appeared from Hlyboke, which was liberated two days ago: on the eastern outskirts of the village the flag of the Russian Federation is flying.

▪️ The fighting continues in the “Lira-1” gardening cooperative on the eastern bank of the Travensky Reservoir, after its capture it will be possible to talk about the beginning of the assault on Lyptsi.
▪️ South of Morokhovets and Olinikove, as well as north of Lukyantsi, the activity of Ukrainian drones is recorded, Russian infantry is moving in small groups. Apparently, the Armed Forces of Ukraine retain control over Lukyantsi, and reinforcements continue to be transferred to Lyptsi from both the “hodgepodge” of Territorial Defense Forces as well as special forces of the Main Intelligence Directorate.

▪️ Against the backdrop of the ongoing scandal in the so-called Ukraine and attempts to shift responsibility onto each other for the collapse of the defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, we can see how the Russian Army is taking the line that should have at least detained the Russian Armed Forces. But we shouldn’t be filled with jingoism: the Russian Armed Forces are doing hard work, trying to overcome the enemy’s fortified areas, and the Armed Forces of Ukraine continue to actively use FPV drones and copters with grenade drops, which cause damage to advancing units."

"The situation in the Kharkov direction as of 16:00 /Moscow time/ May 14, 2024

East
▪️ In Vovchansk, the enemy was knocked out of the northern part of the city, a cleanup is underway. According to preliminary data, the territory of Lyceum No.1 and kindergarten No.6 were taken. The status of the Vovchansk Aggregate Plant, where the presence of Ukrainian forces may remain, remains unclear.

▪️ By the middle of the day, only one heavily damaged automobile bridge and a pedestrian crossing remained in Vovchansk itself, so communication with the southern part of the city is still maintained.

Center
▪️ The Russian Armed Forces established control over Buhruvatka, while fighting was still observed in neighboring Starytsya.

West
▪️ Russian troops are already advancing, through the dachas, in the direction of Lyptsi. For now, combat operations are limited to reconnaissance in force. The enemy forces gathered in the village are being attacked by artillery and air strikes.

▪️ In the Lukyantsi area, assault detachments of the Russian Armed Forces reached the outskirts of the village and entered the territory of the settlement. It is still unclear whether the settlement was completely liberated or not.
▪️ There is information circulating on the Internet about Russian assault detachments from Zelene meeting with neighboring groups, but in reality this is most likely not the case, since the gap between Lukyantsi and Zelene is an open field, and between Zelene and Izbytske there are fields and forest."

"Missile strike on Belbek airfield. May 15, 2024.

▪️ At night, the Armed Forces of Ukraine launched a new attack on Crimea. This time the target was the Belbek airfield, at which up to 16 ATACMS tactical ballistic missiles, with cluster warheads, were fired.
▪️ The sounds of work of the 31st Air Defense Division of the Russian Armed Forces were heard by the population of Crimea and Sevastopol around 2 am. Even residents of Chernomorske noted flashes and sounds of explosions in the sky. In total, up to 13 missiles were shot down on the approaches to Belbek.
▪️ Unfortunately, we failed to shoot down the remaining missiles. And the results of the attack once again became known to the whole world thanks to the publication of video from a surveillance camera on the Internet.
Tonight, the enemy attacked the Belbek airfield near Sevastopol with American MGM-140 ATACMS cluster ballistic missiles. Local and Ukrainian channels published footage of a night fire from the airfield, as well as photos of scattered M74 submunitions from incoming missiles.

How and why this is still possible in the third year of the war has long been a rhetorical question. As we ourselves and our colleagues have noted more than once, until criminal penalties are introduced for the publication of such videos and photos, the Armed Forces of Ukraine will have no problem assessing the results of their strikes even without the help of NATO satellites.
▪️ At the moment, it is not entirely clear where the missiles were launched from. Previous attacks were launched from the Berislav area. But, as a rule, the enemy changes positions to prevent detection. And the ATACMS with the range of up to 300km increases the combat capabilities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. It is possible that this time the launch was also carried out from the Kherson region. However, some sources report that the missiles flight was recorded over the Snake Island - so the launchers could be located somewhere near Vylkove on the border with Romania."

"The situation in the Kharkov direction as of 16:00 /Moscow time/ May 15, 2024

▪️ The offensive of the Russian Armed Forces in the north of the Kharkov region continues.

East
▪️ Last evening there were reports about the complete capture of Vovchansk, but in reality this is not the case. The northern part of the city is predominantly under the control of Russian Forces, but pockets of Ukrainian forces still remain.
▪️ Even taking into account the possible retreat of parts of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, it is simply impossible to cross heavily damaged bridges in sufficient numbers to capture the entire city in a short time.

Center
▪️ Fighting continues in Starytsya, where Russian Forces are advancing from at least two directions. The enemy is conducting mortar strikes on the lost territory, but is unable to contain the assault detachments of the Russian Army.

West
▪️ The settlement of Lukyantsi came under complete control of the Russian Forces. There were several air strikes on the village, after which the remnants of the enemy forces retreated.
▪️ In addition, the Russian Ministry of Defense confirmed the liberation of the Hlyboke settlement. The village was taken on May 11th.
▪️ At the same time, the Russian Armed Forces were able to make significant progress in the “Lira-1” gardening cooperative towards Lyptsi. However, reports about the beginning of the assault on Lyptsi are somewhat premature.

▪️ The Russian Armed Forces conduct an active counter-battery fight using Lancets and other munitions. It is noteworthy that targets are hit not only in the immediate vicinity of the front, but also in the Tsykurny area, on the outskirts of Kharkov itself."

"Combined strike of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Crimea. May16, 2024

▪️ The Armed Forces of Ukraine launched a new attack on the Crimean Peninsula closer to midnight, using both drones and ballistic missiles.
▪️ The first wave of drones was a distraction (at least judging by the tactics): several drones from Odessa headed towards Sevastopol. At the same time, unmanned boats were launched from the southern part of the Odessa region.
▪️ At ~22:50 air defense units worked on three targets near the Kruglaya Bay of Sevastopol. Another object was shot down over Simferopol.
▪️ At the same time, several UAVs were recorded to the west of Belbek: they were probably used not for strikes, but for target designation and missile guidance.
▪️ Around the same time, the enemy launched several ATACMS tactical ballistic missiles from the Yavkyne area in the Nikolaev region. According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, five missiles were shot down over the Belbek airfield. One of the objects at the airfield was hit by shrapnel.
▪️ The tactics of the Armed Forces of Ukraine can be seen clearly: attacks on airfields and fuel and lubricant warehouses in order to force aviation to relocate to more distant bases, thereby increasing their response time to an alarm, before more massive attacks.
▪️The naval drones that were released in large numbers were noted both at Cape Tarkhankut and at Chernomorske. One of them was destroyed north of Chernomorske - target designation was carried out by a Russian drone. However, a significant part of the unmanned boats never approached the peninsula: with a high probability they are in the waiting area - as has happened more than once. And in the coming days we may hear about them again.
▪️ At the moment, an RQ-4B drone is on duty in the western part of the Black Sea, for which this is a rather non-standard area. It can both evaluate the results of a strike on Belbek and designate new targets, for example, for the naval drones."

Update
crimea16052024v2.webp
"Destruction of Ukrainian unmanned boats. May 16, 2024

▪️The Russian Ministry of Defense announced the destruction of 11 drones southwest of Sevastopol, and then information appeared about another unmanned boat destroyed near Crimea - together with one naval drone destroyed at night near Chernomorske, for a total of 13 unmanned boats.
▪️ Let’s add that these were the same drones that entered the Black Sea around midnight. They were observed near Cape Tarkhankut, but then they turned around and departed to the waiting area in the western part of the Black Sea. And today, at around 13.00, two groups of unmanned boats, totaling up to 24 units, headed towards the Crimean Peninsula, but their movement was detected in advance. Naval aviation helicopters were eventually sent there to intercept.
▪️ For several hours, helicopter crews fired at maneuvering drones, thanks to which the enemy’s plan was thwarted. It is not entirely clear where exactly the drones were moving, but we do not rule out that they were heading towards the Crimean Bridge.
▪️ An important point is that Russian units were able to identify the impending attack and subsequently destroy half of the unmanned boats, which indicates an increase in the ability to both search for naval drones and defeat them."

"The situation in the Kharkov direction as of 20:00 /Moscow time/ May 16, 2024

▪️ During the offensive in the Kharkov region, Russian troops continue to fight in the northern part of Vovchansk, as well as on the approaches to Lyptsi. The advance comes with intense fighting and is accompanied by the assault on numerous strongholds.

East
▪️ In Vovchansk, assault detachments of the Russian Armed Forces are storming the territory of the industrial zone of the Aggregate Plant, which they reached some time ago.
▪️ Next to the factory entrance is the Gurkanovsky Bridge across the Volchya River, which acts as a natural line of defense and divides the city into two parts. In the future, progress along the Gurkanovsky Street and Lenin Street running to the west may be complicated by the high density of mines in the residential sector.
▪️ Another area of fierce fighting is the territory of the Vovchansk city hospital. In the morning, a video appeared with Russian military personnel on the territory of the complex: most likely, the footage was taken a couple of days ago, but it objectively confirms the control of the Russian Armed Forces over the facility.

▪️ In the southern part of the city, the enemy has also equipped strongholds and is preparing for defense.

West
▪️ On the western flank, after the liberation of the village of Hlyboke, Russian troops advanced through the territory of the “Lira-1” gardening cooperative, reaching the outskirts of Lyptsi.
▪️ No changes have been recorded in the Zelene area - the offensive is complicated by minefields and a network of enemy strongholds.

▪️ At the moment, the enemy is transferring more and more forces: in particular, in addition to units of the 92nd Mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the personnel of the "Lyut" Assault Brigade of the National Police of Ukraine arrived at one of the sites, as well as reinforcements from newly mobilized citizens, from the training centers in Dnepropetrovsk and other cities, are coming to the battle zone.
▪️ The increased intensity of artillery fire and work of air defense units of the Russian Army, testifies the forces that the Armed Forces of Ukraine have gathered near Kharkov. The advancement, and supply, of forward detachments of the Russian Armed Forces is complicated by the large number of FPV drones used by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. At the same time, Russian troops operating in the area note the high effectiveness of attacks by glide UMPC bombs, as well as Lancet loitering ammunition."

"The situation in the Donetsk direction by the end of May 16, 2024

▪️ At the end of April, Russian troops were able to significantly advance in the center of Heorhiivka, occupying the territory of the Selkhozkhimiya enterprise and the building of the House of Culture. After this, the assault detachments of the Russian Army continued to attack, reaching the western outskirts of the village.
▪️ According to the latest data, units of the Russian Armed Forces took the last two houses on the Tsentralna Street, essentially completely knocking out the Armed Forces of Ukraine from Heorhiivka - the last one building on the outskirts under enemy control was demolished by a bomb attack along with the basement.
▪️ At the moment, soldiers of the 150th Motor Rifle Division of the Russian Armed Forces are consolidating their positions in Heorhiivka. However, it is possible that, in parallel with “pulling up the flanks,” the RF Armed Forces will make an attempt to “drop in” to Maksymilyanivka.
▪️ At the same time, fighting continues in Krasnohorivka, where Russian troops are beginning to advance from the previously taken territory of the Refractory Plant.
▪️ At the moment, the fate of several detachments of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, surrounded on the eastern outskirts of the city, remains unknown.
▪️ The Armed Forces of Ukraine continue to shell the Donetsk agglomeration, including with the HIMARS MLRS. In particular, at one of the attack sites, debris was found that visually resembled GLSDB bombs - this is the first documented use of such ammunition in residential areas of Donetsk."

"Massive strike of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on southern Russia. May 17, 2024

▪️ The Armed Forces of Ukraine carried out a large-scale drone attack across Crimea and the Krasnodar Krai, launching a total of more than 140 aerial and 20 naval drones.

Crimea
▪️ In Sevastopol, the attack lasted several hours. The drones moved from three directions in the Odessa region: attacks were noted in the Sevastopol Bay, and near Cape Fiolent, and in the Balaklava area.
▪️ In total, units of the 31st Air Defense Division of the Rusian Armed Forces shot down 46 UAVs. 5 more were suppressed by electronic warfare crews and 9 drones were destroyed by rifle detachments of the Crimean Defense Group.
▪️ However, it was not without damage: one of the suppressed UAVs was still able to reach the Sevastopol Power Substation. Because of this, most of the city was left without electricity. At the moment, power supply is being restored - at least two thirds of residents are already connected.
▪️ Simultaneously with the UAV raid, Sevastopol Bay was attacked by seven unmanned boats.
- Four of them were able to break through the booms and were destroyed at close approaches.
- Three more were shot down near Sevastopol.
▪️ Another unmanned boat was immobilized by a naval aviation helicopter, and now they are trying to drag it to the shore. And a 9th drone was shot down about an hour ago west of Sevastopol.

Krasnodar Krai
▪️ At the same time, the Armed Forces of Ukraine also attacked the Krasnodar Krai. The main blow fell on Novorossiysk. The targets were the oil depots, an industrial zone and the city port. In total, as of 12:00, more than 60 UAVs were shot down over Novorossiysk and on the nearby approaches.

The drones themselves, given their flight route, most likely entered Krasnodar Kra through the Sea of Azov, and the launch, most likely, was carried out from the Zaporozhye region.
▪️ There is information that unmanned boats were used to attack the port, but at the moment we cannot confirm or refute this information.
▪️ In addition, in the morning an oil depot in Tuapse was attacked. Video of the drone's arrival was published by local channels. The UAV was flying through the mountains: this indicates that the drone flew around Novorossiysk and entered from the rear through Goryachiy Klyuch, bypassing the air defense positions.

▪️ As we can clearly see, attacks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine have once again increased. This was the largest attack in the entire history of the SMO, the purpose of which was to overload air defense systems and destroy energy facilities in Sevastopol and in the Krasnodar Krai..
▪️ At the moment, local problems are still present in several districts of Sevastopol; planned energy saving shutdowns have been introduced in the city to carry out repair and restoration work, but still the worst scenario was averted.
▪️ At the same time, we shouldn’t relax. Remember last year's tactics? After massive UAV raids there was always an equally large-scale missile attack, so this is to be expected now."

"The situation in the Donetsk direction as of 14:00 /Moscow time/ May 18, 2024

▪️ Russian troops continue to storm Krasnohorivka from several directions. At the moment, the enemy retains control over half of the settlement - mainly in residential areas, which are located in the lowlands.
▪️ In the center there are still clashes in the areas of Tsentralna and Sumska streets near the Krasnohorivka Refractory Plant. However to the west of the industrial zone, the enemy retreated from the residential sector in the area of Pushkina and Nekrasova streets.
▪️ On the eastern outskirts of Krasnohorivka, for the last few weeks there have been battles to the west of the so-called "Hunting house" - in this area the enemy has equipped an extensive network of strongholds with minefields. However just the other day, assault detachments of the Russian Armed Forces completely cleared the area between the "Stalin" highway (road C051130) and 1st May Street, forcing the enemy to retreat deeper into the urban area in the direction of the hospital complex and an agricultural technical school on the Nakhimova Street.
▪️ To the south, Russian troops finally cleared the pocket near the Borisivka pond, where focal resistance of several infantry units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine had previously remained.
▪️ At the same time, the situation in Netailove became somewhat clearer: assault detachments of the Russian Armed Forces were able to break through the enemy’s defenses in the center, occupying the school territory, and reached the western outskirts of the village. The advance of Russian troops is also confirmed by footage from the enemy, who published a video of UAV attacks on positions of the Russian Armed Forces on the Naberezhna Street. Against this background, unconfirmed reports even appeared on the Internet about the almost complete liberation of the settlement - however, in order to completely occupy Netailove, Russian troops still have to gain a foothold along the shore of the Netailove Pond, as well as knock out the enemy from Kolkhozna Street and the poultry farms on the southern outskirts of the village."

"The situation in the Kharkov direction as of 16:00 /Moscow time/ May 18, 2024

▪️ Russian troops continue to expand the zone of control in the north of the Kharkov region: heavy fighting is taking place along the entire line of contact.

East
▪️In Vovchansk, assault detachments of the Russian Armed Forces are trying to break the enemy’s defenses along the bank of the Volchya River. Ukrainian formations still hold the the center and the southern outskirts.
▪️ Thanks to the transfer of several dozen infantry battalions to the site and the strengthening of defense in the city, the Armed Forces of Ukraine managed to somewhat reduce the pace of the offensive of the Russian Armed Forces.

Center
▪️ To the west of Vovchansk, Russian Armed Forces continue to develop their success: Starytsya, for which the fighting has been going on for the last few days, has come under complete control of the Russian Army.

West
▪️ Fighting continues on the northern outskirts of Lyptsi, where the enemy has equipped a powerful fortified area. Further advancement of the Russian Army is complicated by the fact that to the east of Lyptsi there is a dominant height, from where a view opens both to the northern border and to Kharkov, and as long as the height remains under the control of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, it will be difficult to completely clear Lyptsi.
▪️ In the Lukyantsi area, Russian troops slightly expanded the zone of control zone; the enemy retains a presence in the salient between Lukyantsi and Hlyboke.
▪️ There is no information yet about the advancement of Russian units from Zelene in the direction of Neskuchne.

▪️ The Russian Armed Forces continue to actively use aviation as well as Lancet drones - this is also evidenced by regularly appearing footage of hits on Ukrainian positions and equipment, including MLRS used by the enemy to constantly shell the Belgorod region, as well as modern 2S22 Bohdana self-propelled howitzers. In turn, the Armed Forces of Ukraine actively use FPV drones, making it difficult for assault detachments of the Russian Armed Forces to move and supply their forward positions."
