Russian Armed Forces continue offensive actions in the vicinity of Chasiv Yar.
On the northern flank, taking into account the enemy’s control over Hryhorivka and Kalynivka, it is not yet possible to advance due to enemy counterattacks.
In the central area, after reaching the eastern outskirts of the Kanal Microdistrict, assault detachments of the Russian Armed Forces began fighting for the territory of school 77, but apparently they were unable to break through deeper into the settlement. it's clear that one of the obstacles was a high-rise building on the corner of Zelenaya and Gorbatogo streets, which overlooks the approaches to the microdistrict and the residential sector on its outskirts. The building is also notable for the fact that even after the arrival of several FABs, it remained not only suitable for defense, but also relatively intact, having lost only one of the entrances.
At the moment, a head-on assault on the Kanal is obviously not the task of the Russian Armed Forces. In fact, after reconnaissance in force, assault detachments of the Russian Army moved on to the flanks with the goal of taking the microdistrict into semi-encirclement.
The the south, in the Krasne/Ivanivske area, the Russian Armed Forces advanced along the southern part of the Stupky-Holubovski-2 Nature Reserve to the bank of the Seversky Donets-Donbass Canal. According to some reports, the Nature Reserve came under the control of Russian forces almost completely, which is indirectly confirmed by the movement of Russian troops in the lowlands - this would not be very convenient if the enemy was present in the higher northern part of the Reserve.
To the west of Krasne/Ivanivske, the situationof is hidden by the “fog of war.” Previously, information appeared about the advance of Russian units along the Stupky Tract to the canal, but no footage appeared from this area for a relatively long time. The presence of one side or the other, east of the canal in the forests along the T-0504 (H-32) highway also remains in question.
Further to the southeast, between Krasne/Ivanivske and Klishchiivka, the advance of the Russian Armed Forces is recorded: the forest belt on the western outskirts of the former Artemovsk airfield up to the forest north of Klishchiivka came under the control of Russian troops. At the same time, the Russian Armed Forces continue to advance further, knocking out the Ukrainian formations from, at least, the next forest belt."

Donetsk-Avdiivka - 04.05.2024

"Liberation of Arkhanhelske. The situation as of 12:00 /Moscow time/ May 4, 2024

After clearing of Ocheretyne and the capture of Keramik, Russian troops completed the operation to liberate the village of Arkhanhelske.
Fighting in the direction of the settlement began a week ago, when forward detachments of the Russian special forces entered it immediately after the capture of Ocheretyne, but the full control was established last night.


The offensive was carried out from several directions, with the simultaneous advance of assault detachments both through the gully from Ocheretyne and across the fields. On May 3, units of the Russian Armed Forces were brought up from Keramik and completed the operation to cover Arkhanhelske and push the enemy out of the village.
Footage showing the fleeing groups of the defeated Ukrainian formations were published yesterday. It shows the flight of the personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine under Russian artillery fire.

Such videos have already caused a resonance in the Ukrainian information field, demotivating enemy units operating in other sectors of the front.
At the same time, clearing of the fields south of Arkhanhelske is also completed: the enemy abandoned his positions and retreated.
At the moment, Russian units are digging in and consolidating their position in the settlement, bringing up reserves and building logistics through Ocheretyne and Novokalynove. Reinforcements are being deployed to the area of responsibility of the 1st Army Corps of the Russian Armed Forces to develop offensive capabilities.
Judging by the publications in the Ukrainian segment of the Internet, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is confident that the plan of the Russian Armed Forces consists of strikes to the north, through the fields bypassing New York and Toretsk, in the direction of Kostyantynivka and closing the cauldron with an attack from the direction of Klishchiivka."

For a long time, practically no footage of the battles in Heorhiivka appeared on the Internet, which made it difficult to determine the exact configuration of the front line in this area. However, it turned out that during this period the Russian Armed Forces were able to launch several successful attacks and expand the zone of control in the settlement and its surroundings.
As a result of competent actions of the assault detachments, Russian troops managed to make significant progress in the center of Heorhiivka: they occupied most of the buildings on the Gagarin Street, and also marched along Tsentralna and Myrna streets in the area of the monument and the local House of Culture. The territory of the former Selkhozkhimiya enterprise and the ruins of the farm, also came under the control of the RF Armed Forces.
To the south, assault detachments of the Russian Armed Forces captured a tree line leading to the village of Pobjeda, but the enemy maintains presence in the neighboring forest belts, relying on the reservoir embankment.
South of Pobjeda, units of the Russian Armed Forces also knocked out the Armed Forces of Ukraine from several positions, but the enemy retains the ability to attack along the O0532 road (T-05-24). In this area the Armed Forces of Ukraine rely on Konstantinovka. However, if the Russian Armed Forces successfully advance west from Novomykhailivka and begin the battle for Paraskoviivka, the situation near Pobjeda will worsen for the enemy, which in the future may make it easier for Russian troops in this sector."

Crimea - 06.05.2024

"Activity of Ukrainian unmanned boats near the Crimean Peninsula. May 4-6, 2024

At night, the Armed Forces of Ukraine attempted to attack the base of the Black Sea Fleet and the Russian FSB border service in Chernomorske with four unmanned boats.
Around 4-5 am, four naval drones were discovered by Russian military personnel, and fire was opened on them. As a result of this, the drones were destroyed at the booms, unable to break into the Vuzkaa Bay. This situation again demonstrates the importance of such basic things as booms. Their presence simply did not allow naval drones to penetrate their home base and easily repel an attack.
However, this group of unmanned boats was not the only one: another squad of drones was spotted near Cape Tarkhankut. After detecting their movement, the unmanned boats turned around and departed in the opposite direction.
The activity of naval drones has increased near the Crimean Peninsula. The day before yesterday, about five or six drones appeared near the Kerch Strait, which is why the bridge was shut down. The search for drones continued for several hours, but they disappeared in an unknown direction.
The increased number of unmanned boats these days, indicates that the Armed Forces of Ukraine are assessing the state of defensive fortifications in Crimea. The presence of drones was noted at the bridge, and at Tarkhankut, and in Chernomorske, but in small numbers, when, as in the previous attacks on the Black Sea Fleet, more than ten drones were involved at the same time.
At the same time, according to the already classic scheme, before the attack near Crimea, a British RC-135 reconnaissance aircraft operated, which was located 100 km southwest of Sevastopol.
Taking into account this and the coming week in Russia, we should expect massive strikes launched by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Moreover, the enemy has been pausing for several days, clearly accumulating forces for an attack."

Update - at least one of the drones was able to enter the port in Chernomorske.

The enemy published footage of another attack of its MAGURA V5 unmanned boat in Crimea. Despite the fact that Ukrainian kamikaze boats successfully penetrated the bay, judging by the footage, they were unable to find a worthy target. The drones rush about under machine-gun fire, eventually hitting, presumably, one of the small hydrographic boats stationed at the pier. As you can understand, the threat from enemy kamikaze boats has not gone away, but this time they were unable to inflict any significant damage on the fleet and were forced to settle for a “consolation prize” in the form of a small boat.

The video published by the Ukrainian GUR reveals the details of today’s night attack by unmanned boats in Chernomorske. And it is notable not even for the hit on the boat at the pier, but for the fact that one of the drones still broke through the booms.
The footage shows the moment when the drone approaches the bay. The Temple of the Holy Prophet Zechariah is visible in the background. And then the picture abruptly moves into the bay itself - this may indicate that this drone that was at the beginning of the video has already been destroyed, otherwise the frames would be complete. The operators of the unmanned boat can be seen maneuvering around the bay, dodging gunfire from a helicopter. At the same time, large debris falls nearby, which could be the remains of a destroyed drone. And only after that there was a blow to the boat at the pier.
This attack clearly shows that the Armed Forces of Ukraine were able to break through the barriers that were installed at the port. This is a very important fact, since the attack itself in this situation looks like a rehearsal for a larger attack on the Crimean Bridge.
During previous sabotage attacks near the bridge, the main striking force was the unmanned boats, and thanks to the installation of booms, it was possible to protect the bridge from new attacks. But now, by breaking through them, the enemy has demonstrated that he has the means to achieve this goal.
To do this, the Armed Forces of Ukraine needed to install some kind of shaped charge in the nose of the drone, which would break through the barrier upon collision. And, perhaps, this is exactly what happened in Chernomorske - the first unmanned boat carried out the task of destroying the fence, and the last one struck the marina.
From this whole situation, where there were no casualties, one important thing should be taken away: the enemy adapts and defenses need to be adapted quickly and in a timely manner, taking into account the changes that we observe. A couple of months ago machine guns appeared on naval drones, now anti-aircraft missiles are being installed on them - their accuracy leaves much to be desired, but the fact remains.

And in this case, we need to react immediately, without waiting for new attacks. The pace at which the Black Sea region is adapting to new threats is too low. And this is unacceptable in a conflict of such intensity."

"The situation in the Kherson direction as of 19:00 /Moscow time/ May 6, 2024

In the Kherson direction, the focus in the media sphere has shifted somewhat from the outskirts of Krynky to the island of Nestryga, located in the Dnieper delta southwest of Kherson and closer to the right bank of the river.
At the end of April, information resources of the so-called Ukraine, with reference to the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, announced the taking under control of the island of Nestryga. At the same time, comments from Ukrainian “military experts” appeared in the media about the operational significance of the said island. However, the island actually remains in a gray zone, and the Ukrainian attempts to take possession of it by sending in, small assault detachments often end in the destruction of the landing forces - sent to their death for the sake of a media picture.

In addition, establishing control over the islands in the Dnieper delta is complicated by the high water level in the river. In this regard, most of the island territory remains in a semi-flooded state, and the footage filmed there is partly reminiscent of chronicles of movements in swampy areas during the Vietnam War.
At the same time, enemy units are active to the northeast, in the Kozachi Laheri area: two days earlier, a landing force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, on several boats moored to the islands, approached the village and dispersed in a residential area, but later retreated under fire from Russian troops without achieving success.
In the wake of the lack of results, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are focusing their efforts on striking the left bank with artillery and mortars. In addition, the Armed Forces of Ukraine actively use drones not only for remote mining and attacks on various targets, but also to resupply their forward detachments.
At the moment, the Ukrainian leadership is in dire need of at least some successes that can be presented in the media as a victory, due to the loss of territories in the Avdiivka and Kupyansk directions. Reports about expanding control of the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the islands pursue precisely this goal, but the attempts look rather clumsy."

Kupyansk - 06.05.2024

In the Kupyansk direction, the Russian Armed Forces are developing a local offensive in the Kyslivka-Kotlyarivka sector.
In the afternoon, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced the liberation of the village of Kotlyarivka. However, Russian troops reached the western outskirts of the village already on May 4-5, while the assault continued, with artillery and air support, in the neighboring Kyslivka.
At the same time, there have been unconfirmed reports about the complete liberation of Kyslivka. Given the close proximity of the villages - the furthest houses are about 500 meters away - and the liberation of Kotlyarivka, it is most likely that Kyslivka was also liberated by Russian forces. The presence of the enemy, if it persists, is localized.
By the end of the day, footage appeared of the raising of Russian flags over the central part of Kyslivka and the east of Kotlyarivka, which confirms the information about complete, or almost complete liberation, of both villages by the Russian Armed Forces.

In other sectors of the Kupyansk direction, information about other successes of the Russian Armed Forces does not appear in the media sphere; both parties exchange artillery strikes and conduct mutual reconnaissance.
However, as practice shows, a lull in the media sphere does not mean the absence of active hostilities. For example, the recent push of the Russian Armed Forces to the west of Kolomyichykha: in this area, where the front remained static for a long time, assault detachments of the Russian Army on ATVs, under the cover of a tank, occupied a forest belt, advancing in the direction of Stelmakhivka.

The footage appeared on May 5, but in reality the events could have happened somewhat earlier, and by now there may be even more progress."

"Russian strikes on the energy infrastructure of Ukraine. May 8, 2024

At night, the Russian Armed Forces attacked the energy facilities of the so-called Ukraine. According to official data, three thermal power plants were damaged.
We are probably talking about Burshtyn, Dobrotvir and Ladyzhyn TPPs. Judging by the footage and media reports, explosions were noted in Burshtyn and Ladyzhyn, and in the Lviv region, where the Dobrotvir TPP is located, they write about a fire.
This wasn't the first strike against the Burshtyn TPP - this once again confirms the systematic approach of the Russian Armed Forces to the destruction of energy infrastructure of the so-called Ukraine. Initially, the station had 10 turbogenerators with secondary control of turbine speed (out of 12 available). But after previous attacks, four remained operational - at best. It is this equipment that allows to compensate for frequency deviations from the nominal value during peaks in electricity consumption.
There was one such generator at the Dobrotvir TPP, and after the April strikes the power plant continued to operate, despite strikes hitting the boiler-turbine shop and damaging some of the boilers. The boiler and turbogenerator No.1 were not damaged back then, and the turbogenerator No.2 may have received only partial damage, so the operation of the station continued.

As for the Ladyzhyn TPP, since the resumption of Russian attacks on the energy sector of the so-called Ukraine, the last attack was recorded back in April. And after a month of repairs, it started working (and it’s clear that this was noticed).

We can only hope that the Krivoy Rog Thermal Power Plant, which also continues to operate, will also be the focus of attention.
It is gratifying to see that our words about the importance of defeating thermal power plants with special secondary frequency control equipment were heard. Such stations are very important for the functioning of the entire energy system of the so-called Ukraine - they make it possible to eliminate frequency deviations from the specified value of 50 Hz. Two out of three attacked thermal power plants had such equipment."

Vremivka - 08.05.2024

"The situation in the Vremivka sector as of 14:00 /Moscow time/ May 8, 2024

Russian troops, after successfully occupying the territory of an agricultural enterprise in the south of Urozhaine, continue to conduct an offensive in the Urozhaine-Staromaiorske area.
In the past few days, Pacific Fleet Marines from the 40th Marine Brigade of the Russian Armed Forces expanded the zone of control in the southwestern Urozhaine by more than half a kilometer in depth. TOS-1A heavy flamethrower systems clear the enemy positions. The Armed Forces of Ukraine, made unsuccessful attempts to counterattack in small groups with armored vehicles, but under counter fire from Russian troops retreated to the northern outskirts of the settlement.
Ukrainian formations tried to transfer reinforcements to Staromaiorske, from Makarivka located in the north, but the Russian Armed Forces destroyed four pickup trucks, with manpower, of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
At the same time, to the west of Staromaiorske, fighters of the 60th Motor Rifle Brigade of the Russian Armed Forces advanced into a forest plantation, capturing two enemy strongholds. According to some reports, they also managed to cut the Rivnopil-Staromaiorske road, but there is no objective evidence of this yet.
Activation of offensive operations in some sectors of the front, which have rarely appeared in reports in recent months, may force the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to use at least part of their reserves there. Which, in turn, will in make it easier for the Russian Armed Forces to attack near Avdeevka and in other directions."

Our morning analysis of the Russian strikes on Ukrainian energy complex facilities was confirmed and expanded by the evening.
Ukrenergo confirmed attacks on several thermal power plants and hydroelectric power plants. Blackouts were observed in nine regions. In addition to the Lviv, Vinnytsia, Poltava, Kirovograd, Zaporozhye, and Ivano-Frankivsk regions, a Ukrenergo facility in the central region was also damaged - most likely, we are talking about Kiev.
At the Poltava 330kV substation, the last unprotected 330/110 kV autotransformer was hit - the previous one was hit during attacks in April. Judging by the lack of reports of outages in Poltava, there is at least one more working autotransformer in the concrete protective structures on the territory of the substation, which must be hit during future attacks.
The Ladyzhyn TPP was successfully hit: the arrival occurred in the 6th power unit and a fire started inside the turbine hall - the 5th power unit may also have been damaged, since everything depends on the scale of the fire. For example, at the Trypilska Thermal Power Plant, a fire destroyed what was not disabled by missiles.
At the Kremenchuk hydroelectric power plant, the hit was delivered to the cover of hydraulic unit No.4 - there are a total of 12 of these at the station, and they certainly cannot be considered easy targets. It is quite possible that one of the transformers opposite hydrogenerator No.6 was damaged as well. Strikes on the Kremenchuk hydroelectric power station should clearly be continued, including the generator transformers located in the lower part of the dam.
In the context of the ongoing systemic strikes on the energy infrastructure of the so-called Ukraine, it is important to continue the fire defeat of hydroelectric power plants: as Ukrainian thermal power plants with special equipment are knocked out and disabled, it is the hydroelectric power station that will completely have to maneuver the power of the energy system."

Donetsk - 09.05.2024

"Battle for Krasnohorivka. The situation as of 14:00 /Moscow time/ May 9, 2024

After a brief tactical pause, Russian troops resumed their advance in Krasnohorivka, breaking through the defenses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine from the east and south.
Assault detachments of the Russian Armed Forces, moving from the so-called "hunting house", managed to occupy at least part of the Ukrainian fortified area between the "Stalin" highway and the May 1st Street, and a sector east of the Zapad Street. At the same time, Russian troops also advanced in the area to the east of the Heolohichna Street and knocked out the enemy from some positions in the "Solnechnyi" Microdistrict, gaining a foothold in the vicinity of the local school.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine still continue to hold lines in the "Eastern" and "Solnechnyi" microdistricts, where there are high-rise buildings suitable for defense. The area of the Central District Hospital, the clinic and the Agricultural College, as well as the forest plantations to the east of Krasnohorivka, south of the Borisivka Pond, remain under the control of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
To the north of the Refractory Plant, there are battles in the area of Sumskaya and Central streets, but no progress has been recorded there yet.
The defense in the city is held by a hodgepodge of territorial defense troops, border guard detachments, units of the 59th Motorized Brigade, as well as one of the battalions of the separate presidential brigade. But the presence of the 46th Airmobile Brigade and the 3rd Battalion of the 80th Air Assault Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which previously held the Krasnohorivka Refractory Plant, was no longer noticed - probably, after the loss of the main part of the plant, the elite formations were withdrawn to the rear to make up for losses and regroup.
At the same time, the advance of the Russian Armed Forces is recorded in Netailove, to the north of Krasnohorivka, where the enemy was knocked out from the territory of an elementary school and adjacent two-story buildings. Fighting continues in the central part of the village."

There were also some kamikaze drone attacks in Russia:

Krasnodar region, operational headquarters: The Ukrainian Armed Forces tried to attack an oil depot near Anapa - several tanks were damaged. 6 UAVs were suppressed by electronic warfare, some fell on the territory of the oil depot.

But it's just business as usual. Nothing spectacular, designed to ruin celebrations in Russia, has happened.

Vremivka - 09.05.2024

"The situation in the Vremivka sector by the end of May 9, 2024

After the successes of recent days, Russian troops continue to push back the enemy in the Urozhaine-Staromaiorske sector.
In the Urozhaie area, fighting continues in the ruins of farms, where the Russian Armed Forces, despite counterattacks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, are holding their positions. At the same time, assault detachments of the Russian Army are also moving along the Central Street.
Russian troops carried out another attack in the forest belt east of the village, but the outcome of the battle remains covered in the “fog of war.” Fire support for the attacking units is provided by aviation and artillery.

At the same time, assault detachments from the 1466 Motor Rifle Regiment of the Russian Armed Forces improved their tactical situation in the forest belts west of Staromaiorske.
There are also battles on the western outskirts of the village, and ️by the middle of the day, information appeared about the entry of soldiers of the 394th Motor Rifle Regiment of the Russian Armed Forces into Staromaiorske: several houses were taken.
At the same time, moving from the south, Russian troops marched about half a kilometer to the north, occupying the territory of a local school. There are battles near the village council.
Staromaiorske and Urozhaine came under the control of the Armed Forces of Ukraine during the summer counteroffensive in 2023. The Russian group of troops “Vostok” is consistently regaining lost positions. There is no talk yet about a large-scale offensive in the Vremivka sector: at the moment, the Russian Army is improving the tactical situation."

In recent days, in the Avdiivka direction, Russian troops have been actively developing successes in several areas at once, including those that were covered for some time by the “fog of war.”
In the north, in the Arkhanhelske area, the Russian Armed Forces are strengthening the previously occupied lines, continuing to clear the area to the west of the settlement. There were no attempts to counterattack by the Armed Forces of Ukraine during the day.
To the west of Avdiivka, footage of the flag being hoisted over the memorial in the center of the northern part of Umanske appeared on the Internet.

May 10, 2024 - Ukrainian drone raid.

On the night of May 9-10, the Armed Forces of Ukraine once again struck the border and rear regions of Russia with drones.
Two air targets were shot down on approach to Belgorod in the Belgorod region. Another drone attacked a car in the village of Leonovka, Valuysky urban district, there were no casualties.
In the Kursk region, electronic warfare crews of the Russian Armed Forces landed a drone in the Korenevsky district, which detonated when it fell; but there were no casualties. In Tetkino, drones attacked residential buildings; the fire has now been extinguished.
In the Trubchevsky district of the Bryansk region, three more drones were intercepted, without consequences.
In the Kaluga region, several UAVs attacked the Perviy Zavod oil refinery in Tovarkovo, hitting three tanks with fuel oil and one with diesel fuel. This is the second such attack on the plant this year - the previous raid was on March 15.
In the Podolsk area, air defense systems shot down one drone approaching Moscow. There were no casualties or damage."

Due to the fact that in the Russian Telegram (at the suggestion of Ukrainian sources) turbo-patriot sentiments have already begun to disperse, it is necessary to talk about what is happening in the north of the Kharkov region: moreover, to speak in a balanced way, without getting ahead of the locomotive and without echoing the various information dumps that have rushed write about the scale of advance.
At night, the North group of troops and units stationed along the old state border began to launch massive attacks on planned targets using cannon, rocket artillery, mortars, with the support of allocated aviation resources of the Russian Aerospace Forces.

The purpose of fire destruction is to reduce the enemy’s defensive capabilities, as well as to destroy long-term strongholds.
At the same time, forward detachments of the Russian Armed Forces began clearing the front line. Due to the fact that previously Russia and the so-called Ukraine were a single country, in many places one settlement flows into another, and the border line was for a long time very arbitrary. Therefore, military operations in the frontline zone began to be classified as a large-scale offensive - this is somewhat incorrect: if we look at the map, the battle zone has been expanded to a depth of 2-3 kilometers in certain areas, but it is too early to talk about the full liberation of border villages by the Russian Army. It was only reconnaissance in force, which was carried out and carried out successfully.
As a result of hostilities in the border area over the past year, some settlements, like Strilecha, were turned into bare fields. Until the fighting north of Kharkov approaches at least Liptsy, it is extremely premature to talk about the liberation of any villages and towns. Combat operations in the border areas are primarily dashes through the ruins from one stronghold to another.
The focus on Vovchansk is noticeable to the naked eye. Vovchansk is one of the enemy’s main transshipment hubs; logistics run through it to the east of the Seversky Donets. The city plays also an important role in the defense of the northeast of the Kharkov region. Local authorities have already announced the start of evacuation from the locality.
The Russian Armed Forces are working on Vovchansk and the surrounding area, and they are working systematically: footage of the destruction of the bridge over the Volchya River has been published.

The interfluve area is important for facilitating combat operations near Kupyansk and the possible breaking of enemy defenses in the east of the Kharkov region.
Due to the fact that the North group of troops began the task of creating a buffer zone, an unprecedented revival began on the Internet, fueled not only by the enemy's TsIPsO psychological warfare, but also by Russian turbo-patriots. The enemy will take advantage of this: they can always declare that a village “virtually” taken by the Russians was liberated by the Armed Forces of Ukraine just by imprinting the Ukrainian flag there.

Kharkov - 10.05.2024

"The situation in the Kharkov direction by the end of May 10, 2024

The first day of the Russian operation to create a buffer zone in the border area with the Kharkov region resulted in territorial acquisitions made by the Russian Army. These successes are explained simply: some of the villages were already occupied without a fight several days earlier (and the command of the Territorial Defense Forces was in no hurry to report losses), and some were deserted wastelands, through which Russian troops passed like a knife through butter.
To the southwest of Zhuravlevka (Pic.2), the Russian Armed Forces crossed the border through the Zhuravlevka forest and the Zhuravlevka border crossing point, occupying the territory of Hoptivka. Nearby there are two more small settlements: Kudiivka and Shcherbakivka - probably both villages are currently in the gray zone. To the south of Hoptivka, in the Kochubeivka area, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have equipped strongholds - this is where the first line of defense is most likely located.
The second, much wider place of the border breakthrough was the section from Strilecha to Borysivka (Pic.1), where, in addition to the above-mentioned settlements, villages of Krasne and Pylna came under the control of Russian Forces. However, here the main enemy fortifications are located at a greater distance from the border and can cause certain difficulties in further advancement.

The third place where the border was broken was the vicinity of the village of Sereda, from where the Russian Armed Forces advanced into the territory of the so-called Ukraine (Pic.1) and occupied Zelene, reaching the northeastern outskirts of Neskuchne.
The fourth area of advance was in the vicinity of Vovchansk (Pic.3), from where previously the Armed Forces of Ukraine repeatedly fired at Shebekino, Belgorod and other settlements. The Russian Armed Forces took Ohirtseve and Hatyshche, and later information appeared about the capture of Pletenivka.
Despite the proximity of these settlements to Vovchansk, there is no talk of storming the city at this stage. Ohirtseve is separated from the city by the Volchya River, and from Hatyshche to Vovchansk there is a continuous forestry, convenient for defense and mining by the enemy. And from Pletenivka there is less than three kilometers of a dirt road, but through open fields, clearly visible from Vovchansk.
To the east of Vovchansk, in the area of the village of Tykhe (Pic.3), according to information that appeared online, prisoners were taken - most likely they were apprehended after the breakthrough in the border area forests in the north, and not in the village itself.

At the moment, of course, there is no talk of any encirclement of Vovchansk.
Despite the success of the first day of the advance of Russian troops, the Russian Army has only began to approach the first line of defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Therefore, it is best to refrain from turbo-patriotic statements: this is not the case. Russian troops entered empty villages and depopulated areas, and despite the seeming incompetence of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the enemy’s concrete fortifications, communication networks and logistics in this area definitely won't make it a “cakewalk".

Against the background of active actions of the Russian group North in the Kharkov region, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have increased the intensity of shelling and drone strikes on civilian targets in the border area of the Belgorod region.
At night, air defense systems shot down several air targets on approach to the administrative center of the region, including nine missiles from the RM-70 Vampire system. Eight people were injured as a result of the attack. Of these, five citizens were hospitalized.
In Novostroevka-Pervaya, a drone dropped two grenades on a parked truck. As a result of the explosions, one man died on the spot from his wounds, and the second victim was hospitalized.
On the road near the village of Tserkovny, an FPV drone attacked a car, resulting in a woman being injured.
The roof of an agricultural enterprise was damaged in Shchetinovka.
As a result of damage to the power supply line in Gora-Podol, subscribers in Kozinka, Glotovo, Zarechye and Bezymeno are left without electricity.
In addition, Repyakhovka, Proletarsky, Krasnoye, the Babka farmstead and other settlements in the region were under attack today."
