I'm seeing more and more reports of Israeli soldiers refusing to go into Lebanon or Gaza, and the PTSD they are suffering from walking into hell on earth. Then you have things like this.
Sgt. Quandarius Davon Stanley, a 23-year-old U.S. soldier, has paid the ultimate price for a mission many experts warned was flawed from the start. This is the third death that can be traced back to the Gaza Pier debacle but the first of a US Serviceman.
Critically injured over the summer during the Biden-Harris administration’s ill-conceived Gaza pier project, Stanley battled his injuries for months before passing on October 31. His death is a painful reminder of the risks taken by young service members on operations shaped by political optics and poorly considered planning.
The decision by the International Criminal Court to issue arrest warrants for the Israeli prime minister and a top Hamas official puts them in a small group of leaders to be accused of crimes against humanity.
The court issued warrants Thursday for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, his former defense minister, Yoav Gallant, and Mohammed Deif, a Hamas leader Israel claims it killed.
A three-judge panel from the court said the warrants were based on “reasonable grounds” that Netanyahu and Gallant bear responsibility for a war crime and crimes against humanity in the Gaza Strip, where more than 44,000 people have reportedly been killed and more than 104,000 wounded in the 13-month war between Israel and Hamas.
Netanyahu condemned the warrant, saying Israel “rejects with disgust the absurd and false actions.”
The warrant against Deif said there was reason to believe he was involved in murder, rape, torture and the taking of hostages amounting to war crimes and crimes against humanity for the militant group’s Oct. 7, 2023, attacks on Israel. Some 1,200 people, mostly civilians, were killed in those attacks, and another 250 were abducted.
Hamas said it welcomed the warrants against Netanyahu and Gallant after what it called decades of injustice by a “fascist occupation.”
I don't think anyone here would expect Netanyahu to be arrested. But it is a big propaganda win, because according to an international court and many countries who support the decision, "our greatest ally" is now officially a genocidal mass murdering terrorist, and a majority of the population of the world lives in a country where he will be arrested for it.On 20 May 2024, the ICC's Chief Prosecutor Karim Khan announced his intention to seek arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, leader of Hamas Yahya Sinwar, leader of the Al Qassem Brigades Mohammed Deif, and Hamas political leader Ismail Haniyeh in connection to war crimes committed in the Israel-Hamas war. On November 21, warrants were formally issued for Netanyahu, Gallant and Deif.

yeah. An arrest warrant is being served to our greatest ally's chief of state. I don't mean to black pill but... I'm not sure how far they will go with this. At the height of our woke age, sending down the chairman of klownworld himself seems unlikely. nonetheless, it will be interesting to watch how this will unfold. now that the press has made this development official, it'd better materialise lest it becomes another of those pieces infamous for aging poorly.

There have been countries (Canada, Italy off the top of my head) who said they would arrest Netanyahu if he were to visit. I doubt this would happen, but at least the chatter is out there and minds can be changed on the "our greatest ally" nonsense. The ICC doesn't have any power to execute its own warrants. It's up to countries which are party to the Rome Statute. So Netanyahu just has to avoid visiting any country that might be willing to execute this warrant - if there is any to begin with.
