Hulu has ordered 'Are You My First?' a dating show about virgins, which will be hosted by Colton Underwood and Kaitlyn Bristowe.

Without giving too much details, I actually knew one of the women on this show and I am 98% sure that she is for real when it comes to her status.

I've always been impressed with low numbers or even no sexual experience in a man, and turned off by a history of many partners - unfortunately, too common among appealing, accomplished men, for obvious reasons. Promiscuity affects both women and men negatively - this was always obvious to me, something to be avoided.

Agree. This is why I'm "retired." I really banged em' out back in the day and racked up some numbers and I just couldn't face someone I was falling in love with with this truth. It's like admitting you were a prostitute. I'm damaged goods and I would never date or marry a woman with my numbers and past, so what's good for the goose is good for the gander. I made my bed and now I gotta' lie in it. I broke up with my last girlfriend, in part, because she had no idea of my past and I knew if she found out she would never look at me the same and lose a lot of respect for me. I could've faced it, but there were other things wrong with the relationship (she was very career driven) and I thought it best to let her go so she could find a more "suitable" man.

But I have been blessed to be recovering from "all that." Five years celibate and relationship free and I've never been happier. I never thought that I could be happy without physical contact with a women, but lo and behold it turns out I can. Thank God.

I'm not saying I'd absolutely rule out a guy with a colorful history. We all make mistakes, and sincere repentance means something.

I just disagree with the common belief among men that women don't care about a man's history.

I know what you mean about being single and at peace, though. I got married 3 years ago, and while we have a lot of good times and there are many advantages, in some ways it's harder to be married than single.

Appreciate the support but I would never let a woman I love date a guy like me. Though I'm in poonanny "recovery" I'm just one hot piece of ass away from falling off the wagon. Luckily, I'm losing my looks and I don't have a ton of money so I don't have much to worry about with regards to some tender sweet young thing or gym rat MILF throwing herself at me. However, stranger things have happened which is why I don't even look at women any more, much less talk to them. I'm just trying to sell everything I own and move to the wilderness before "something bad happens" and an attractive woman starts chatting me up in an attempt to knock me off my journey of celibate bliss. Unfortunately, at this late stage in the game I'm achieving some regional mini-fame and so I feel "the eyes" of some women with daddy issues upon me. Hopefully I can escape The Matrix before I do something stupid.

Please pray for me that I don't meet a good woman and that I never get laid again .

I just disagree with the common belief among men that women don't care about a man's history.

In my experience it’s rare for women to be bothered by a man’s body count unless it’s an extreme number (50+, etc). And there are even many women who are turned off by virgin men.

Again this goes back to the fallacy of thinking that men and women are equal. Different things are valued in men vs women. Just as men generally don’t care about a woman’s career or income women generally don’t care about a man’s body count.

Furthermore when a man has a high body count it’s a signifier of some sort of social status as he had to have some sort of value (exceptional looks, wealth, fame, etc) to get all of those women. Whereas for women any woman can get a high body count. In fact a high body count for women is seen as negative by men.

If a man sleeps with a lot of women he is a stud. If a woman sleeps with a lot of men she is a slut. It’s pretty much the only double standard in dating the advantages men. Every other double standard in the dating world favours women.
