The J. D. Vance Thread

This is SO refreshing to hear!! And especially from a leading voice.

I'm generally not a big fan of politicians, because there's usually something covert going on, even if they present themselves positively. That said, when Vance speaks (and a few other international politicians too) I feel as though someone is speaking who fully understands my point of view.

Unbelievable response from European leadership over the JD speech. They are an embarrassment to all of Europe.

For some perspective, here's a link to the full speech that JD Vance gave that was apparently so shocking to European elites:

And a transcript of his speech (that is much quicker to read than it is to watch):

Reading it first and *then* weighing what he said against the reaction it has generated (and the way it's been portrayed) really shines a light as to why people have lost faith in the mainstream media and the ruling class in general. They have absolutely no credibility whatsover.

They simply can't stand having someone shine a light on their hypocrisy with their claims of "defending democracy" by censoring their own citizens when they voice opinions they disagree with. From Vance's speech:

Now, within living memory of many of you in this room, the Cold War positioned defenders of democracy against much more tyrannical forces on this continent. And consider the side in that fight that censored dissidents, that closed churches, that cancelled elections. Were they the good guys? Certainly not.

And thank God they lost the Cold War. They lost because they neither valued nor respected all of the extraordinary blessings of liberty, the freedom to surprise, to make mistakes, invent, to build. As it turns out, you can’t mandate innovation or creativity, just as you can’t force people what to think, what to feel, or what to believe. And we believe those things are certainly connected. And unfortunately, when I look at Europe today, it’s sometimes not so clear what happened to some of the cold war’s winners.

No voter on this continent went to the ballot box to open the floodgates to millions of unvetted immigrants. But you know what they did vote for? In England, they voted for Brexit. And agree or disagree, they voted for it. And more and more all over Europe, they are voting for political leaders who promise to put an end to out-of-control migration.
