The Iran and Wider Middle East Thread

She’s not Israeli. She’s from chile and yes she’s jewish, wd would detonate(yes I know we aren’t allowed to say would bang on the new forum but come on) Hopefully her captors treat her ok.
She is an attractive woman. Sad that the feminist brainwashing made her decide to become a military pilot. She could have made a good housewife.

What's strange to me is why don't the people leave the city? That makes no sense to me. Just sitting in these building waiting for a possible missile strike. Weird.

Israelis claim they have air superiority over Iran

Israel Defense Forces has achieved full freedom of operation in the air space around Iran's capital Tehran, the IDF announced on Saturday.

Why it matters: Other than the military implications of being able to freely hit targets where Iran's main military command and control headquarters are located, it is also a political message that Iran's leadership and government symbols are exposed to Israeli attacks.

What they're saying: "We established aerial freedom of operation in western Iran, up to Tehran... Tehran is no longer immune—Iran's capital is now exposed to Israeli strikes," IDF spokesman Brigadier General Effie Defrin said in a press conference.

I had a post earlier about how Israeli officials are claiming that the US is totally behind them while the US are more ambiguous and will either push back against the Israeli claims or give a generic vague "we will do what is necessary to support Israel" statement. More of that is happening now:

Breaking it down: Israel lacks the huge bunker busters needed to destroy this facility and the strategic bombers to carry them. The U.S. has both within flying distance of Iran.

  • An Israeli official claimed to Axios that the U.S. could still join the operation, and that President Trump even suggested he'd do so if necessary in a conversation with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in the days leading up to launch.
  • But a White House official denied that, telling Axios Trump said exactly the opposite. The U.S. currently has no intention of getting directly involved, the official said.

Iran does however have its own Samson Option Lite, which is closing the Strait of Hormuz and/or striking hydrocarbon infrastructure in the Persian Gulf. It's a hail Mary and last resort gamble which could potentially backfire, but ballooning and causing highly volatile oil prices might also create enough instability and international uproar for the US+ Gulf Allies to tell the Israelis to call the op off.

Well, we're one step closer to it, as Israel just attacked Iranian gas infrastructure.

US intelligence assessed just weeks ago that Iran is not building a nuclear weapon

“The IC [Intelligence Community] continues to assess that Iran is not building a nuclear weapon and Supreme Leader Khamanei has not authorized the nuclear weapons program he suspended in 2003.

The IC is monitoring if Tehran decides to reauthorize its nuclear weapons program.” - Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, 25 March 2025

Nice, put the little puppet in his place. Looks like the ball is totally in Israel's hands. You saw a small bit of Iran's power last night, your people are terrified, your "allies" in the west mock you on twitter, and your technology is of little advantage. And this is without Iran shutting down oil in the region, crashing the US economy, and sending their proxies in to hit from all sides. Israel's population is soft, they will not survive a long drawn out war, and everyone knows this. A war of attrition. The USA is already bogged down across the globe and a military draft here would cause out right riots that would make BLM look tame. The wise move is to back down, admit defeat, let Iran have nuclear energy, and just stop terrorizing the entire region by bombing children. But pride is a deadly sin and I believe Israel will not back down and Trump is powerless to stop it.
