Somehow people seem relatively fine.
Edit: just a minute late.
The plane was landing at the end of the flight so I'm guessing it had little fuel left on board, hence the lack of big fireball. Also, fuel tanks in the wings, so that would have gone when the wings snapped off.It initially made a big fireball that was all over the back of the plane, but when it started rolling over and over, it seems to have had the same effect as when a person who's on fire rolls over and over on the ground to put the flames out. The cold and snow seemed to help kill the flames as well, although I'm sure the runway would have been plowed and salted fairly clean.
The videos that show the people getting off the plane also show fire trucks hosing down the plane. I read somewhere that after everyone got off the plane, it burst into flames again.
It's truly a blessing from God that everyone survived.

The landing didn't look that hard (speaking as a guy who likes to go out to the airport and watch the takeoffs and landings). Even on a hard landing the plane will bounce, but here the right main gear just seemed to give way immediately.
Take it to the Fake New thread!I'm glad that people are still digging to find out who the pilots were.
Is it possible to look up who is flying in a flight when someone books tickets online? I feel like that might be a lifehack for flying safely today.
