My guess is that they are trying to put pressure on Putin to accept the crap deal Trump offered them. Putin already turned it down, because it was based on the outdated notion that the USA was still the lone superpower and could bully them. Third world immigration has made the USA a has been and we can no longer bully countries like Russia, Iran or China.

It will likely backfire and strengthen the resolve of the Russian people into wanting a lot more in a deal for a ceasefire. If I was Putin, I would ask that Finland drop out of NATO, Ukraine can never be in NATO, they get to keep all the land they took, and the Biden admin team behind the killing of our men need to face war crimes, including Zelensky. I doubt Putin asks for this much, but I wish that he would.

Trump hasn't offered any deal....it was just lowball rumors to gauge a reaction from the Russians.
The real negotiating starts after 20 January which is 2 months away.
By that time the Russians may have reached Odessa and be on the border to west Moldova, having conquered the entire Ukrainian coastline.
Or maybe full out nuclear war may have broken out by then.
Who knows.
2 months is a long time.

I had read that Putin already said he would only negotiate with Trump. I am not sure if that was an official deal offered or just talk in the media. I had heard it was an official deal and Putin refused it. I can't blame Putin, if he rejected the deal that was revealed, it was a crap deal, the USA is no longer a true superpower or holds all the cards. If I was Putin, I would push hard for concessions, like Ukraine never in NATO and Finland back out of NATO and maybe even Sweden out of NATO.

Where do you get this stuff? The USA is the only super power. We could hold the world hostage tomorrow by refusing to sell them Marlboros, Jack Daniels, Boeing jets, Teslas, Levis, Nikes, Apple Computers, Ford trucks, John Deere tractors, and Disney products. The world loves Hollywood and all it's movie stars and all the Electronic Arts video games and music (Nirvana, Metallica, Jimi Hendrix, Guns N Roses, etc.) and great novelists (Hemmingway, Steinbeck, Twain) that the USA has produced. The USA is the center of the universe and people are literally dying to reach our shores. We are not shrinking in our power and glory and prosperity, we are not in decline, we are on the rise (albeit with a bunch of homos and trannies and crime and illegals and unaffordable housing and masculine women in our midst).

Putin and Russia are, and always have been losers. All they got is the threat of nuclear holocaust and a few good books by Dostoevsky.

I wish the few posters here, who still think the USA is a superpower, would actually come over here and see how disgusting and bad things are and just talk to small business owners and concerned parents. You obviously have no idea how far the quality of life and the infrastructure of the USA has fallen over the last 20 years. I have a hard time considering the USA even a first world country, much less a superpower. And large portions of the USA really are no longer first world. Whether the forgotten rural areas where bridges and roads are collapsing, or the urban areas that are worse than many warzones, the USA is nothing like it was 40 years ago. Trust me, I lived here then as well, I am in my late 40's.

Come over and check it out then. Don't expect to get a realistic answer from a govt. employee, a girl-boss, or a welfare/immigrant, but talk to people who actually make the country work. I have this conversation often, I am in a red area of the country, so I know a lot of the people who actually make the country work. I don't know any of them who think the country is in a good place or headed the right way. Most of them are hopeful Trump can correct it. We will know in 4 years if he can or not.

So, the thought that this country, with so many infrastructure problems, and a severe shortage of military staff, with equipment not holding up to Russia or even Iran, is going to go conquer the globe, is beyond copium.
 
The RS-26 Medium Range Ballistic Missile strike triggered Nato's early warning systems, which means that they knew there was such a strike as it happened, but they didn't know if it was nuclear or not. They watched and did nothing.

This means if Russia decided to nuke Ukraine Nato will essentially watch and do nothing.

After this he may go as far as to start attacking military bases and weapons depots in western europe

- The conflict has acquired elements of a global nature

- On November 21, Russian forces employed the latest medium-range Russian system, "Oreshnik"

- The Russian Federation launched a ballistic missile strike equipped with non-nuclear hypersonic capabilities against the Yuzhmash plant in Dnepropetrovsk

- Russia considers itself justified in using weapons against facilities in countries that allow their weapons to be used against Russian targets

- Existing missile defense systems, including American ones in Europe, will not be able to intercept missiles like "Oreshnik"

- Russia prefers peaceful means but is prepared for any development, "there will always be a response"

- The Russian Federation will give advance warning to civilians in cases where systems like "Oreshnik" are deployed

I really hope that if something in Europe rather than North America gets hit, that it wakes up people in Europe to the fact that America has turned Europe into a target and is not a true ally or friend.

Putin has multiple times threatened that he had horrible weapon systems (plural) that were yet to be seen. The Oreshnik is now established fact. I guess the RS-26 remains in reserve... Any others?

Also noteworthy:

- US systems mis-identified the system??
- Last night at about the same time, there were khinzal strikes. The khinzals flew into Kiev area, then turned southeast towards Poltava (I beleive some hit there), then turned again towards Dnipro. Not sure of the timing, but it appears to be some masking to keep Ukraine Air Defense occupied whilst this thing was enroute.
- Russia attacked a missile facility. Storm Shadow and ATACMS facilities are now at top of a certain type of list. Not sure if the French missile was used, but they'll be there as well if so.
