I like ABBA but in small doses. I think their "earworm" style is geared more for sales than anything else. Other groups like the Black Eyed Peas are also guilty of this.
The Catholic radio I sometimes listen to runs on donations, so they play several different/the same songs by the same artist in a single day (week? I'm not sure how it works) to minimize the music royalty fee payments. The playlist gets rather stale this way, while the listener gets to learn the lyrics as if by osmosis, and can develop some aversion- happened to me with Joanna by Kool and the Gang.
