70s thread - The best of the 1970s

The music in the song really. TBH I never listened to all the lyrics - other than the chorus.
The Catholic radio I sometimes listen to runs on donations, so they play several different/the same songs by the same artist in a single day (week? I'm not sure how it works) to minimize the music royalty fee payments. The playlist gets rather stale this way, while the listener gets to learn the lyrics as if by osmosis, and can develop some aversion- happened to me with Joanna by Kool and the Gang. Here come two more from their airwaves.

This could be the Epstein clients's anthem:

I always liked Badfinger. I went to an afterparty where they were at after playing at a bar in my college town in the 80s. It was at my roommate's sisters apt, but they were too cool for me to talk to at the time. They actually knew the Beatles in person!!! Eventually the police broke up the party for being too noisy.

They were about 38 at the time, so they were ancient to me at age 21. I see their limitations now; I suppose I did at the time as well. I would have liked to have talked to them more (the whole group was at the party), but I couldn't think of a good conversational gambit.

Really cool story. Artists love the attention and appreciation of their fans, not just from girls, but yeah, when talking to strangers sometimes the chatter is difficult to maintain if they seem out of our league, I agree their music is less sophisticated when compared to the big names popular in those days.
