The Witcher 4 released a reveal trailer last night at "The Game Awards"
I'm not playing it and I hope you kids don't either.... Not just because of uglified girl boss Ciri, but because of all the woke nonsense CDPR has been caught up in as of late. I think if it was done organically a Ciri Witcher game could have been worth while, but nothing about this is organic. I am adamant about not spending my money on DEI and Woke products, especially games. I want these modern gaming publishers and studios to burn to the ground so that something better can come and take their place.
From all the insider rumours it's likely going to have woke stuff but Phantom Liberty was released recently and it had none of that. From how much I enjoyed CP2077 and Witcher 3 I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt until there's gameplay actually released but I know I'm likely being too optimistic.
In other news regarding the Game Awards I'm glad to see woke stuff failed - no awards for Veilguard or Outlaws, and non-woke games like Astro Bot, Balatro, Black Myth Wukong and Helldivers 2 did great. Will Western studios utterly flopping compared to Asian ones change anything? I think it'll take more than this but it's a good sign of things to come.
In terms of 2025 games I'm looking forward to Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, Civilization VII, Elden Ring: Nightreign, Crimson Desert, Solasta 2, Slay the Spire 2, Split Fiction, Mafia: The Old Country and Monster Hunter Wilds. GTA 6, Avowed and Assassin's Creed Shadow will likely be woke and Witcher 4 is several years out. Borderlands 4 looks alright as well, and Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 if it ever releases.
Played God of War (2018) recently - fantastic game, loved the story arc of the boy and his father, incredible visuals and top-tier action combat. I've heard the sequel has some woke stuff in it but I'm still looking forward to playing it for the combat and visuals, will likely focus on the Valhalla roguelike mode if the woke story stuff gets too much.
