The War Against Christianity

Good article on how these names evolved for the bishop and other pieces:

Turns out that the jester or crazy. "fou" in French, was a derivation of the original Persian/Arabic name for elephant, "fil", as was the Italian name for that piece, "alfiere" or flag bearer.
In Spanish, the bishop is called "alfil," which is also derived from Arabic. Interestingly, the Spanish word "alfil" holds no other meaning at all, it's just the name of the chess piece. It's used in no other context. Apparently, at one point it also meant omen/augur, but that's just an archaism now.

Europe has become quite godless, one of my female cousins married a German man and they live in Bavaria, the churches there were rather empty around the year 2000 already, almost like in the rest of the country. Here a priest has to deal with bums and junkies invading his churches:

Unknown people pee behind the altar, defecate on or in the church, and hurl baptismal fonts throughout the church. Several Mainz churches have problems with vandalism.

Mainz city pastor Thomas Winter is appalled: "It really upsets me how churches are being treated here in Mainz!" The 51-year-old looks after five parishes in Mainz: St. Ignaz, St. Peter, St. Stephan, St. Quintin, and the cathedral parish of St. Martin.

Imagine being willing to enforce this, being willing to handcuff an old lady over this. I get that every man has a price, but for a policeman's salary??? Truly the goodest goys. Black people are right about the cops.
