The Trump-Vance Administration

I think it’s a bit simpler. Enough senators would have voted against Gaetz confirmation that he was probably offered “something” to drop out gracefully .
The recess appointment was presented as the primary strategy from the start. This would bypass the need for senate confirmation entirely, and was the normal way of doing things for most of US history.

Maybe this was just a ploy to get the senators to be more reasonable and play ball. If they will work with Trump, then he will go easier, but if they fight him like last time, he will come with hammer and tongs.

However, in my opinion hammer and tongs should be the only approach under consideration. He should not budge an inch, and should tear into the existing GOP membership of the house and senate with investigations and indictments. Seeing him even consider trying to get along with the existing house and senate membership is a tremendous letdown.

The Gaetz withdrawl was really disappointing. A saw a video of Gaetz and he was naming all the senators who got rich with insider trading and most of them were Republican. That is why they hate him. Trump should just make these bitches obey with prison time for any senator that doesn't vote his way. There is enough dirt to put every one of them in prison.

The reporting is that only four red Senators were opposed to Gaetz:

If that's true, it makes it inexcusable for Gaetz to have withdrawn, especially when recess appointments are on the table.

I doubt the validity of this story though. I think it's more likely that these four Senators have agreed to take the heat for the rest, since they're all more or less untouchable in primaries.

Most likely there is more dirt on Gaetz that hasn't come out yet, and by withdrawing he prevents its release.

Unfortunately, he was likely the best choice. Trump already backing down from his most anti-swamp pick is not a good look.

Meanwhile, Ken Paxton may be angling for the job. This investigation seems calculated to earn Musk's endorsement:

BREAKING:

I have opened an investigation into a possible conspiracy by advertising companies to boycott certain social media platforms.

It is completely unacceptable and un-American that the Department of Justice under the Biden Administration failed to enforce antitrust laws against its perceived political allies.

Trade organizations and companies cannot collude to block advertising revenue from entities they wish to undermine.

Trump replaces Gaetz with a 59 year old twice divorced blonde woman for attorney general.
She might be very qualified as former attorney general of Florida, but this still smells like a concession to the deep state.
I hope I'm wrong.

I don't know how good a pick she is. I'll wait to see what the reactions are.

However, I will point out that at 59 years old, she is a real survivor of the wall! I did a search looking for a picture that would catch her looking about as normal as possible, leaving out makeup and retouched images. I snipped this from a video. All the others I saw looked even better.

Most women her age look a lot rougher!

Edit: Her age shows more here, and she's carrying a few extra pounds. Still, most women at 59 look much worse.

I laughed when I heard this. Trump hey I tried! Here’s a consolation prize.

Actually we’re all getting ahead of ourselves. His presidency hasn’t even started yet. I voted for him every election cycle, but my expectations are pretty low. I want to hope he does what he promises, I want to believe…but…I never did the first time so sure am not going to be believing now.

Still I was pumped for his win and hope him and his admin the best.
