I've noticed that a lot of pop songs I heard on the radio now (francophone radio anyway) dont have a stupid rap bit in the middle anymore. The stupid rap bit seemed almost obligatory for about 20 years and finally, hopefully, people are making regular pop songs again.
Hopefully this will also put rappers who do stupid rap bits out of work.

Man is it stupid when people say kiddo or doggo. I instantly lose respect for them.
Why? I don't know if I've evern heard anyone say doggo before from any generation ever or maybe I just was never paying attention. Kiddo is just an old-timey slang term for a youngin' as far as I know. I call teens/early 20-somethings kiddo all the time (just friends and family...not to strangers). Why is it stupid or provides lack of respect if a person uses either slang term?
When I was growing up people would say things like "Nice game kiddo". Ok, no big deal and the way it was intended. Now I hear parents using it all the time. "I'm picking the kiddos up at school" or "Balls in kiddos".

Haha I say both of them all the time, kiddo usually to half way talk down to someone and doggo when I meet a stranger dog and tell him what a big handsome doggo he is....
I always associate 'kiddo' and 'buddy' as a put down. I almost never hear people use those words in any other way than to be demeaning. That's why I don't use those words. My youngest brother calls my dog ''dogger' which I find hilarious.

i don't know if there is a linguistics forum. or a wikipedia forum where it should fit better. but apparently according to a tidbit in wikipedia (based on an online pdf article in the references section), the elite's endearing term "globohomo" came to prominence thanks to chateau heartiste. I find that alone pretty impressive. an anonymous guy running a public wordpress blog on a free account writing articles for a restricted target audience and a very niche subject matter, far removed from the normies' usual talking points and still managing to instill a level of fear enough to trigger the establishment and the elites, causing them to pursue its shutting down. then the recognition of its contributions. and the adoption of the vernacular commonly used in that blog in mainstream venues.

I'm experimenting with Instagram, mainly to see what the fuss is all about but also to see if I can find potential clients who aren't on fb.
What actually is the point of Instagram? I think I'm a reasonably smart person but I'm looking at this thing and it seems to be just an exercise in following people to get people to follow them back. But I'm not sure to what end?

It's just a new way for women to collect 'likes'.
I know of at least 2 divorces that I suspect were instigated by Instagram. By which I mean, wife looking at IG pages filled with women doing their round-the-world travels, eating gourmet meals and striking yoga poses in exotic locations, fretting that their hardworking husband does not afford them those luxuries.
I always like to say stand-up paddleboarding would never have existed had it not been for IG.
I wanted to give a laugh reaction about the paddle boarding, but on the other hand the two divorces are tragic.
I've never made an instagram page, so on the one hand I don't know about it from experience. However, my reasons for not doing it are valid, I think. I figured it was like Skipro said. It's just a way of networking with pictures of yourself and your lifestyle, to try to get followers. LinkedIn is similar in many ways, but you post exaggerated career accomplishments instead of pictures. Neither of those really interest me.
Yes. I completely don't see the point so I've deleted myself from it. No wonder you see so many people wandering around taking pictures of themselves. Ridiculous
