The Indo-Pacific Geopolitics Thread

The Chinese establishment is sounding more unhinged by the day, the benign trade oriented dragon we were promised is actually a rogue and hyperaggressive neighborhood bully, totally shocker. Now threatening direct military action against Japan without a UNSC stamp, Chang whisperers will soon roll in with desperate takes to turn the story on its head and villify and blame Japan.

Further proof that Tokyo needs a nuclear deterrent bythway.

In response to the string of ragey threats coming from Beijing the Japanese by word of their Minister of Defence have announced their intention to place Type 03 medium range missiles on Japan's southernmost Yonaguni island. These missiles have a 50km range.

Yesterday Xi Jinping called Trump for the first time ever, and it's was the first time since 9/11 that a Chinese Head of State called its American counterpart. Chang Presidents like to get called by others, makes them feel important. Xi's obviously startled that the escalatory set up is not going his way, and wants the US to step in to de-escalate.

Takaichi, who during those initial remarks was ambushed by a pro CCP Japanese Senator, is not budging and refuses to retract previous statements. Instead Takaichi is using the occasion to harden the Japanese deterrent and signal a clear red line on Taiwan. The above-mentioned Chinese set up on the other hand seems to lead back to fears on a Japanese rearmament, the Changs really don't want to have to deal with a Japanese Navy at full strength again. Hence the cuckey remarks about Potsdam 1945 and the Japanese pacifist Constitution, very low energy.

That Japan will "help" them if invaded by mainland China in the future.

(Taiwan was a Japanese colony for about 50 years until 1945.)

The main point that has irked the Chinese is that Takaichi said that a conflict over Taiwan could trigger a "survival-threatening situation" for Japan. Which means that Japan is directly contesting China's claim over Taiwan, it is a serious, historical escalation.

There is a hawkish faction in China that has been raring for a "Suez moment" in Taiwan, a limited kinetic confrontation that would establish military dominance over the region. The Chinese leadership has always been very cautious and rational, planning for the long term, but over this point, they are highly emotional and things might get out of hand. Takaichi is a noob and as a woman she feels she has to look strong, along the lines of a Kaja Kallas or von der Leyen, so things might get hairy in this game of chicken.

Sorry bucko, noone outside thirdworldist echochambers shares your alarmist babble. Geopolitics by definition is deceptive, diplomatic and self-serving. It also happens in gradation, meaning that thinking in ideological extremes whilst losing sight of strategic objectives and mitigating realities per default leads to wrong conclusions. Turdworldists' rabid dopamine addled brains just can't stop running from happening to happening, constantly looking for news scraps that can be framed in such a way that it confirms their faulty and extreme convictions. Now it's Modi's turn, the man is simply renegotiating his position with Washington aka he hasn't come to terms yet with having to concede on India's previous advangeous and lowkey parasitical position.

There is a dent in the US- India relationship, like so many before have happened. Thats about it. The Trump Administration is re-setting all previous frameworks under the nomer 'Biden did it so it doesn't count, new sheriff in town', and some have more issues accepting this than others. Kind reminder that just 4 weeks ago the buckos were gleefully posting similarly alarmist and gloomy articles on how 'Washington would lose Brussels and Tokyo'. A few days later the oaths of vassalage were renewed, and the usual suspects immediately moved onto greener pastures aka stopped talking about this new undesirable reality.

China and Russia shouldn't be grouped in together anyway, not in any circumstance or context related to India. Those with a bare minimum of historical and geopolitical knowledge know that 1. the Russia- India bond has always ranged from good to excellent, and that 2. the Indian- China relationship cannot move beyond lukewarm due to territorial disputes, historical animosity, geostrategic competition and a hostile Indian population due to a decade of heavy anti-CCP/Congress/Pakistan propaganda on behalf of the Hindutva aligned Modi clique.

India is not (yet) able to sit at the big boy table ergo will play off different states against one another. Furthermore the 7 day war with Pakistan has damaged Modi's image in the eyes of BJP/RSS hardliners. Modi started a war with a neighbour 1/10th of India's GDP, yet backed off as soon as he realized the Pakistani were able to keep pace on the escalation ladder and were not going to budge. Indian grandstanding and showmanship aside, the BJP rank and file actually understand India got nothing out of the May War. Modi is trying to divert that looming discontent, first towards China due to overt Chinese support for the Pakistani, and now onto the US. Modi aligned media claims the US was responsible for prioritizing Pakistan hence backstabbing India. Washington on the other hand is reponding by slowdripping curated information on the war to damage Modi's image domestically (think 7 downed Indian jets, Modi calling Washington to beg for a ceasefire, Modi accepting Washington's ceasefire proposal without consulting the Army and after only 4 hours after Trump gave him 24 hours to think about it, etc.).

Yet the quarreling, fake bravado and yada-yada don't change the chips on the table. India needs the US. Indian politics only goes as far the next election cycle, and the US is by far the biggest player in Indian politics. Modi does not want to risk the Trump Administration shifting support to Congress. Modi also needs to balance out the looming Chinese dominance by playing the two of each other, and the US is a very important contributor to economic progress aka political stability aka Modi's political survival. The Indian military is increasingly getting integrated into Transatlantic frameworks and defence mechanisms, and 4 weeks of US sanctions have wiped out 3 years of cheapskating on Russian oil.

Those who believe the US is 'out' or whatever need a reality check. Last thing Modi wants bytheway. Only the heavily propagandized actually believe that a cunning politician like Modi would put all his eggs in a basket herded by Xi just because. Man is simply playing the field, as he should be, partially to gain leverage in the tariff negotiations against Washington. The buckos are once again letting their rabid anti- Americanism and emotional investment cloud their judgement. These people legit never learn. Negotiations are currently ongoing behind the scenes and Modi will sign that tariff document in a few months if not weeks and that will be that.

Picture below is a few days old. Prepare for the schizo-esque and immediate return of anti Indian shilling once that happens, the toll one has to pay for subscribing to this cartoonlishly simple worldview.

The clownoids in Beijing are high on their own supply and LAN has been proven right once again. Post above was in response to a hallucinant BRICS-ling who thought that just because Modi and Xi shook hands at a diplomatic event they would soon team up under Dugin/Primakov's multipolar banner to jointly take on da big bad USA. Total horse puckey of course, told the man that this would never happen because China and India are geostrategic rivals with clashing incentives+interests, big territorial disputes, a difficult history and major aversion to one another within their populations.

Fast forward a couple a months and its a BINGO. The Changs and the Jeets are trading blows over Arunachal Pradesh/ Zangnan, a rather large territory located in the Southern Himalayas. Both New Delhi and Beijing claim it as theirs, India controls the area since it's independence. Like with Taiwan, the CCP has never actually ruled the land and Beijing's claims come from its pre-colonial status, when it was part of a loose Tibetan powerstructure and tributary to the feudal lords in the Tibetan Plateau. This sounds exactly like China's claim over the South China Sea, aka wobbly and politically motivated. Population consists of Tibetan Buddhists in the mountains, and Subcontinental Christians and Hindus in the lowlands.

In their own massive hubris the Chinese decided to start this second diplomatic row within as many weeks. This is wolf warrior diplomacy on fentanyl, total autism and damaging in both short and long term. You often see this type of detached and destructive behavior within authoritarian power structures. This time China harassed Indian travelers from the Arunachal Pradesh area at Shanghai Airport, detaining them for nearly a day. Claiming their Indian passports are not valid and that they are Chinese citizens instead. McMahon Line can of worms opened one again, Lil Coop will soon emerge to blame da evil West, they just keep holding down the poor Global South through intentionally creating unclear borders and Ursula von der Leyen blabla.

Anytime there is a diplomatic row or escalation between two nations, you can almost hear LaNegra rubbing his hands like a happy merchant, he seems to really get off by the prospects of war between China and Japan/India, US and Venezuela, or Israel attacking any of its neighbors...

LAN has been proven right once again.
Referring to yourself in the third person - a bit narcissictic, eh...

Looking at the subject in question, does this woman look Indian, or Chinese??

Funnily enough, a few months ago Modi mocked Chinese people and their "small eyes", throwing millions of his own Indian citizens from the northeast with east Asian features under the bus.

I wonder if the people from those border regions with east Asian features would rather be part of a modern, clean, rising, well-run country that is racially closer to them, rather than the hindu cowdung basketcase they have been part of since the Brits left the subcontinent...

Empires absorb populations. It's a little bizarre to hear anti-migrant proponents cheer on "self-serving" foreign policy. The reason America is swarming with migrants is because it's an Empire. Reason Europe is swarming with migrants is because it's the periphery of the American empire. Is it coincidence that the Europeans believe they should share living space with Africans because "bad white people" and they need to be raped by Muslims because "bad white people"? What do these things even have to do with Europe? Not much until you factor in a certain empire building that's been happening. Same goes for places like Japan and Korea. Once things cross racial lines, you can be sure there's an agenda at play and not just "liberalism".

What conclusions can we draw when a place like Korea, an American colony, sends over people that morph into this while in "Rome"?

Seems like the "Barbarians" are looting the empire with purpose.

In 2025, is America funding the colonies or are the colonies draining America?

I think Trump gave you the answer.

Be careful what you wish for. People might not like the results of these "self-serving" wars. China hasn't even absorbed anyone yet. It's young.

Looks like you fell for the LingLing's reporting and continued your imaginary tangent further. It was a planned call admitted by Trump and Bessent.

Trump is yanking Japan's leash back. LAN's blueballs for yellow on yellow violence will have to continue for much much longer.

The death count for in the decades of China taking positions in the South China Sea against the US' 3 Island Chain has already been greatly exceeded by the death count from US naval positioning in front of Venezuela in the past several months. Your wordcel games reflects poorly on reality of international relations and how the world perceives actions on how the US and China handles their business.

Beijing is aware of the Salami Slicing lessons from when Russia was lenient on allowing NATO to almost checkmate them with Ukraine for decades so obviously they will defend politically and then militarily against the 3 Island Chains understanding the lessons from Russia.

Repeated insults.

The little man is not taking BRICS silently sliding back into oblivion too well, man got high on his own supply and forgot that the slopaganda on a anti US India- China detente was not for personal consumption but red meat for the dimwits instead. Can't believe the kooks really thought the US would just disappear from world stage, yuan as the world reserve currency when?

The turdworldists usually get a bit edgy when their previous clowntakes get rubbed in, don't think these boneheads legit have been right about anything ever. Guess most of them deep down know they're a lost cause hence the impotent lashing out at folks firing the correct criticisms their way, it's just a reflection of their condition.

Coop's also transformed into a peacenik. Feels as genuine as Maduro's current turnaround, from narcogangsta to John Lennon imitating kind soul in just a few days. Not ruling out that Lil Coop's current grumpy status has something to do with Maduro's head being on the chopping block bytheway, man's probably currently feverishly F5ing his fav slopchannel on any good news on the matter. It's literally L after L after L after L.

Likewise just a few years ago Lil Coop was rooting for genocides and war in Ukraine, Syria, Greece, Poland, Taiwan, Israel and probably a few other places too. Fastforward three years and reading about China feeling the heat on all sides makes Coop's fragile ego a bit dented on the side, p-p-please stop p-posting g-guys!! The fake tough guy persona follows, this usually happens when these emotionally heavily invested kooks feel that 'their side' is losing. Psychology of perennial losers, translates to their personal life as well - being a cabby in your 60s does something to a man.

Sorry bucko, it's called face and two-faced Big Don is playing big games. Trump held a minor bone in front of your beloved Chairman and Xi all upset obviously took the first bait immediately, man was probably legit dead scared that for once he would have to follow up on his empty threats. Xi and the rest of the Chang clowncart really need to start reading up on diplomatic approaches, start with The Art of the Deal, these Changs just ooze autism and can't stop getting played.

Meanwhile the dust is settling and the bottom line is clear. 1. Tokyo has established a red line on Taiwan and will consider a military attack on Taiwan a military attack on Japan. 2. The Japanese re-militarization will continue and accelerate. 3. Japanese missile systems will be positioned on Japan's southernmost island chain. This is how you play the game, Xi got left holding the bag and Chinese antics, just like during the Pelosi 2022 visit, scream weakness.

The Taiwanese Prime Minister has announced a massive additional 40 billion USD defence spending budget. President Lai Ching Te cited that Beijing's increasingly aggressive conduct was the cause for Taiwan's additional defence spending, asserting that Beijing 'engaged in an' unprecedented military buildup' while intensifying 'provocations in the Taiwan Strait, in the East and South China seas, and across the Indo-Pacific.' Taiwan's aims to reach a 'high level of combat preparedness in 2027'. In 10 years Taiwan's defence spending has nearly doubled to 3.3 percent of its GDP, and is expected to hit the 5 percent mark in 2030.

The latter might cause an emotional breakdown with Lil Coop bytheway, lately he's been full echochambermaxxing and anything not in line with his kooky worldview eventually seems to trigger a mental breakdown. Man legit thought the Taiwanese would just hand over the keys to the Changs because the KMT reunification spiel blabla, only in agitprop induced lala-land were that to ever take place. Chin up Coop, that cognitive dissonance was always going to hurt you long term so better to just bite the bullet ASAP!

Rent-free in your mind, eh LaNegra? I have been a center of attention in much of your latest posting spree. That kind of unsolicited attention and personal obsession is a bit concerning. Go out in your undisclosed mystery meat country and get some fresh air.

Taiwanese neoliberals and those who want to Ukrainise Taiwan don't have history, military science, geography, economics, industry or demographics on their side. Thankfully the majority of Taiwanese are not as dumb or easily manipulated as the Ukrainians, they are not going to commit suicide for the GAE.

In Asia, durian is the king of fruits. To get the most perfect fruit you have to let it ripen on the tree, and when it does, it will fall by itself, landing on nets laid underneath.

That's pretty much China's Taiwan strategy, always the long player. In a couple of decades China will be the richest country by a wide margin, the Taiwanese as part of the same mercantilist Chinese culture, and perhaps with some fatigue towards the Gay Disco, will join in on their own. In 10-20 years, there will be nobody left to field an army, not that a Taiwanese army would stand any chance against a full-blown Chinese invasion.

This is the worst looking population pyramid in the world, along with S. Korea's.
