You can get a shared values visa and live in russia as a temporary resident right now, and after 5 years apply for citizen ship, but the thing is, my passport would be cancelled by then and id be deported and sent to jail for arrears. Some people join their army to get citizenship in 12 months if they survive that long. Even of I got this, I'd simply be away from my children, and aging parents.
I could join the military as a construction tech, you learn masonry, carpentry, roofing, and framing in the first 11 months, your final project is building a shack sized house. If I went there I could learn to build my own house, build one on a relatives property and live out my days very simply. The military would garnish my wages, 60/40 for her though. I'd never see my kids and she'd have successfully stolen the majority of my life's work and eaten it for free.

Off topic and digging a bit more into personal issue, but would you be comfortable with deserving what your thought process was then you decided to marry her? I would have thought barely getting through high school would have raised an alarm and it seems like she wouldn't have been smart/conscientious enough to hide her negative personality traits for an extended time.
She used to talk like "God is calling me to be your wife, to cook nutritious meals and be the heart of the family". She'd come to church with me, wearing the head covering, try to match my values. It was all kinda surface level though, she was forged in an atheist home and when the economy got bad and she wouldn't work and wanted more money she got bitter
There’s a thread I have contributed to discussing this topic here. TLDR: if you are not fluent in Russian with a heavy dose of common sense and savings, this will be a fool’s errand. I have watched many people fail and return to their home countries over the past 4 year. Military could be an option, but, it’s a very different mentality than what one would experience in US, and most men from here are not prepared for that.
