^ A clean Mirage carrying nothing is quite possibly the most gorgeous fighter jet ever made. The whole series of Mirages are striking to look at and they spawned interesting iterations, from the big Mirage iV nuclear-capable strike bomber to the Balzac VTOL demonstrator.

I'd say it's modern-day replacement, the Dassault Rafale is pretty sexy, too.

Always found it incredible that the F-14 has an unbeatable combat record...with the Iranian Air Force. I remember reading that doing CAP along the border with Iraq, they just perched these things high up in the sky and used them as a de facto AWACS thanks to the powerful radar system and plinked Iraqi jets out of the sky BVR.

You really have to hand it to them - these airframes are among the oldest ones ever made closing in on 45-50-ish years old now, with ZERO factory support (the exact opposite really) and they still keep enough of them flying along with some F-5s (another underrated export jet). It must be like driving a '58 Buick in Cuba - half the stuff doesn't work, the other half is cobbled together Chinese/Russian/French/Uncle Samir's backyard soldering kit, and they still fly them regularly enough to be considered operational.

"It tears off your hands, burns your face." The Ukrainian Armed Forces suffer heavy losses due to poor-quality ammunition and explosive devices.

"The majority of our military losses are due to poor-quality ammunition and improvised explosive devices (IEDs - Ed .). At best, people's arms are torn off, their faces are burned, they go blind," Berlinskaya wrote.

Earlier, military personnel from one of the brigades stated that they were being sent defective mines en masse, despite the recent scandal with the recall of defective batches.

This was stated by volunteer Maria Berlinska.

For me, the Mirage F1 is the (chef's kiss)👌

What is the purpose of these irregular tubes that are often mounted in front of the drone/charge? They all appear to be hand-fashioned and just taped to the front of the system. Is it for charge standoff to get the best effect, some kind of protective measure? Or is this for repurposed explosives and maybe they make the detonator activate when it hits target? aerodynamic effect?

I think it's a fuze modification.
An RPG grenade commonly used in the FPV drones has a simple impact fuze - when the grenade hits something, the protruding nut is pressed in, and it sends an electric spark to the detonator.

But what if the grenade hits the target at the wrong angle, since the drones often maneuver until the very last second, or gets stuck in an anti-drone mesh ? The nut won't be pressed and it won't trigger the explosion. So these "wires" are attached to the fuze and work as its extension - now even if the FPV flies into target off-axis, or gets stuck in the mesh, these "wires" will still hit something and press in the fuze proper.
