Latest UK Lunacy

Behind a paywall, but the headline is enough - the latest ramblings of madmen, that constitute the UK's Net Zero plan:

I had a grey squirrel as a pet as a boy, but they are destructive and so DEFRA are right to control them. Deer too need to be controlled. I propose a different solution than the government, I propose they encourage upstanding, law abiding people to own guns and to hunt deer. I also propose that squirrels be hunted and become part of country cuisine. Grey squirrels need go back.

It's not. The label on the tube literally says do not ingest. I have pointed this out to multiple friends and family members, yet they all still use it.

Using a harmful product on yourself is one thing, letting your children use it is a whole different level of sadness.

We really have lost the plot; the latest sculpture to go on the fourth plinth in Trafalgar Square:

Background info:

I sure hope nobody puts up a poster of Gandalf facing the Balrog on the bridge next to it, saying that famous line "You are not allowed across here!", or whatever the quote was. I would find that very upsetting. Please, whoever was thinking of doing this, you mustn't do it.

It's been a while since I posted anything on my home town, so I thought I'd give an update. Many of units which became vacant because of The Madness still stand empty, especially the larger ones. Those that do now have tenants all have an ethnic slant, such as foreign minimarkets. To my horror, one unit in a prominent, central location is now a fried chicken shop of some description.

The number of non whites continues to increase, and standards overall have plummeted - no longer do people dress up in their finery at the weekend. Add to that, the likelihood of an attractive woman catching my eye is pretty well nil. Tattoos, piercings and obesity continue to increase amongst young women.

At work, the situation is intolerable, and the mantra "Import the 3rd world, become the 3rd world" definitely applies. In years gone by, inspections in my department rapidly became informal chats, with the clipboard forgotten, on account of the high standards maintained - now, I'm embarrassed to admit to working where I do.

As I've mentioned before, youtube footage of my home town from a few decades back is like another world.
This closely mirrors my experience when I go back to where I grew up. It's unrecognisable. There don't seem to be any white people there any more, everyone dresses badly and everyone wears trainers, presumable because everyone is so overweight that they need the cushioning. I could go on and on with my observations but if my family weren't still there, I would have no reason to visit.

Not the sort of thing that I normally post, but it's in the UK, and the price is complete and utter lunacy:

The house is in an urban location, closely surrounded on all sides, and the price quoted is "offers in excess of.......". Note also that it was purchased in 1985 for £500K - the Bank of England inflation calculator raises this to a little under £1.5 million.

George Galloway is one of the best speakers I've ever seen. His speeches at the Oxford Union (many of which are on YouTube) are awesome, his ability to speak off the top of his head with such eloquence and clarity is very impressive. Far beyond any of the snakeoil salesmen neoliberals we've had to endure for the past few decades. Not to mention his dressing down of the US senate about Iraq.

He's also socially conservative, saying just last month "As a father of six children, I’m socially conservative. I don’t want my children taught the kind of things Labour wants to teach them in schools." Anyone who was personally friends with Sadaam Hussein has to be pretty based, I would imagine! Not, before anyone jumps on me, that I endorse Sadaam's policies or regime.

He's very pro-British, very much against Scotland leaving the union (as am I), and speaks about things like wokeness in a way so-called right wing politcians in the UK don't dare to, or perhaps don't even think to - given their desire to be liked and still get invitations to Islington dinner parties. And yep, I'm including Farage in that category.

Galloway's an old school 'nationalist socialist', for lack of a better term (!) - my only problem with him is that he panders so much to Muslims. But, he's a politician at the end of the day and is just operating in a game he didn't set the rules for. I hope he continues to be a thorn in the side for the elites as long as he's able to.

In the unlikely event of a lottery win, Cheltenham will be my first choice. I went there for a long weekend a few years back, and really couldn't fault it. My then girlfriend even commented on the lack of diversity (which was very much to her liking).
Spent a fair bit of time in Cheltenham myself.

Attracts a lot of Posh types for the races plus has a lot of students there but it's decent. Houses look more like the style in London/Brighton. Streets are wide and there is plenty of walking space. City center has more shops and things to do than many bigger cities.

I'm from Worcester and I'd say it's a nicer place than Worcester and has more variety despite being a 'town.'

It's only worth that much because Freddie Mercury lived & died in that House. And supposedly his ashes are scattared there..

That being said considering that he died of Aids I am not sure I would like to live there if I was an Arab sheikh
