What doesn't JP get about the crisis era where you get guys checking out and trying to get people to recognize just how bad the society is?

This is just a re-hash of all the married dopes who are at best neutral but likely copium invested in the future (with kids, because of them, essentially), as they are weak and can't bear a future where there run has ended. Yes, the run that included tons of material wealth, homes, and investments the younger 50% of people can't even sniff.

I'm in an interesting position considering all of this because I also have much to gain by the status quo continuing, as I'll just have options to do whatever I want, including helping others. JP is in no such category. I've rooted in the past for the collapse. Now I see it does few any good, but my selfish angle is that it might stop me from just leaving, or being able to travel to a sane place, which I should be able to do and other's should also support that.

I have defended Jordan Peterson here for years and I still adore the man. I've gotten alot from his lectures and have been able to look at art and literature more deeply as a result. I disagree with him on the "Dark Tetrad." Someone added sadism to the "Dark Triad" in order to discredit it. There is utility in Machiavellianism, psychopathy and Narcissism as traits needed for survival. In his Maps of Meaning course at the University of Toronto, JP describes how incorporating part of the 'dragon' to beat the 'dragon' is a common theme in Western lore.

It's why people are attracted to anit-hero's like the Joker. There are aspects of anti-hero's that people instinctively know they need to incorporate in themselves to be dangerous. You have to be dangerous or you will be treated horribly by the world. JP said (and I'm paraphrasing) it's not virtuous to be incapable of cruelty. If you are incapable of cruelty then you will be a victim of everyone who is. What is virtuous is to be capable of cruelty, yet not cruel. The Dark Triad emerged as a result of men being emasculated in recent decades by Western society and being called toxic. It is simply a push back against a cultural attack on masculinity.

Great book by Ivan Throne titled "The Nine Laws" delves very deeply into the Dark Triad and is really a masterpiece. I wish JP would read it. The Dark Triad is not about hurting others. it is a guide to prevent others from hurting you. The Dark Tetrad is nothing more than another attempt by post modernist types to get Western men to lower their guard against cultural attack.

Mikhaila Peterson has turned out just fine. I'm glad there was no internet around when I was young. Jordan Peterson has helped countless young men get their lives together and as they meet him, they thank him for it frequently. Post modernists hate Jordan Peterson for being the opposite of what you claim he is.

He was in the system right from the start of his career as the Timothy Leary chair prof at Harvard, he carried Leary's legacy as a pied piper for young men. Leary was one of the most destructive social engineers in the entire history of the United States, a key figure in the neutering of the Boomer generation. JP is somewhat benign by comparison, but still very much in the same register.

"Schtick", "fake Christianity", "boomerconservatism", "neoliberal"... made up conflicting terms and one term indicating Peterson is insincere which is unknowable. That is quite an old picture of Mikhaila and she's grown alot since then. Personal, judgemental and mean spirited attacks on people who are flawed like the rest of us and for all we know are well intentioned. JP has done more good for others while enduring scathing attacks from people who hate him and me than anyone on this site.

His main objective is to blunt the natural predisposition of young men whose potential is stunted by the combination of neoliberalism (a doctrine that also encompasses boomer conservatism, contrary to popular belief), cultural marxism and late stage capitalism to gravitate towards a traditional Christian moral code and a national identity built on European roots.

Unfortunately he's been fairly successful at it, that's why he is worth over $50 million today, good soldiers get rewarded.

Not much, that's why his daughter was (is?) such a mess. I remember her blaming him (Jordan) for leaving her husband and all kinds of other strange stuff she would rant about (Peterson's controlling nature and addiction to pharmaceuticals and never taking his own advice). I truly hope she and her child are doing ok now.

Whatever, if people took the positives out of the guy (and there are some) then that's a win I guess. The cult of personality was strong with him though plus he's not a Christian.

He's an old man, plenty of time to have decided by now. Children don't fall far from the tree and his daughter turned out to be a mess with all kinds of problems she had to fix on her own.

I know a few (very) rich X'ers who are too comfortable in their lives but when confronted with the truth they brag about reading his work or sometimes they even go through the affair and even show their JBP book(s).
