The Europeans have much more to lose here if the straights of Hormuz get blockaded than we do.
Rubio (the most incompetent) is asking China to talk with iranians no to close the strait. I think Qatar also needs to have the strait open.

I think I know understand why Israelis wanted US to strike. They could have asked US to loan the plans. Or even US could have just stamped an Israeli flag. They want US to take the heat. Don't think so, considering Russia-Israel relations. But North Korea doesn't recognize Israel. Same for the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

Trump has already said Iran will be struck again even harder if they retaliate against the US, which seems almost certain.
This feels like a larger version of the two times Trump bombed Syria when there were no casualties and no response.

I think that is the plan, but if Iran keeps hitting Israel hard, I don't know if Trump can stay out, even if Iran doesn't touch us at all.

Don't know what the deal is with Trump making that post on TruthSocial mentioning regime change. There was already an off-ramp for him to avoid going further down the route to full-scale war. The nuclear strike went off with without any complications which meant Trump could look like a tough guy that pulled off a quick surgical strike without getting bogged down and with no American lives being lost. The rest of his team talked about no regime change but now he's counter-signaling them. You could say it's some sort of negotiating tactic but it's a pretty foolhardy one.
I think he's testing how bad the response will be on Truth. When he gets ratioed like he did with the vaccines he will back off the regime change talk.
That's my hope at least.
