I don't see how congress has much do with this. Trump claimed to help plan the Israeli strike and now he just bombed Iran.
Well, I’m shocked to discover that Trump prioritizes Israel’s interests over those of the Americans he pretends to represent. No one could have predicted this. Oh, uh, here’s Donald Trump’s spiritual advisor, Pamela White, just recently.
It was evident in his first term that he will bend over backwards to fulfill all of his obligations to Jews while none of the promises to Americans.

Congress is the reason why no President could ever oppose Israel, and had Trump not bombed Iran then Congress would have started an impeachment against him. The pressure to do Israel's bidding comes from the top and extends through Congress.
This is why the conquest of the ME continues unabated no matter who the President is because the Talmuds, through AIPAC, have owned Congress for over 40 years now.

I think the idea was to decisively remove the ability of Iran for continuing their program and thus providing no justification for Israel to continue the war.
I don't know that this will happen this way however.

I thought the whole thing has just been the people who know the nose doesn't lie telling Trump he can give the Jews as many chances as he wants, because they'll always disappoint.
Yet it looks like it's not quite the case.
Not really, with the influence he has after the assassination, they'd fail utterly.
That said, this might be a trick to force Israel into a war and then leave them to fight it alone. Afterall, Tulsi Gabbard flipflopping is rather unexpected.
