It's nothing more than a long-shot play for regime change. If they can kill Khamenai, there's an outside chance the entire government will fall. If not, it will at least be weaker and more chaotic for a time. And such weakness might open up new opportunities for the U.S./Israel to undermine Iran going forward. What benefit is it to kill him? Just change leadership? Demoralize them? Sick in the head jews trying to just kill all they can?
It's not like there is going to be an invasion and it's not like he isn't going to be replaced by someone of the same ilk.....I feel like I'm asking a dumb question but I don't know the answer.
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) is insisting on the swift appointment of the next leader of the Islamic Republic after Ali Khamenei's death, sources with knowledge of the matter told Iran International.
According to the sources speaking on condition of anonymity, the remaining IRGC command structure is seeking to finalize the decision within the coming hours, specifically by dawn on Sunday, March 1.
The ongoing fire at the Burj Al Arab in Dubai. If the firefighters are unable to contain the fire, the hotel risks being burned down like a skyscraper in Bahrain.
If they can use almost no cost technology to hit our bases, it is really getting bad.
It doesn't matter if they can destroy our bases and push us further out using this low technology. It is a win for them. What are the casualties? I'm assuming it just be serious if things are getting really bad.
Having a moral high ground in this war is as important as having effective weapons.Pretty insane if Iranians were stupid enough to once again sit around and wait for Israeli missiles to take their leadership out.
Makes me wonder if they actually wanted to get rid of the old Ayatollah themselves.
Do you think the aytalloah being killed (if it did happen) is a win somehow as well? Did the Iranians allow it to happen as some sort of ploy - some sort of rope and dope maneuver to get Israel and US to exhaust themselves before they go for a counterblow? Or is there another plan they have in store? It doesn't matter if they can destroy our bases and push us further out using this low technology. It is a win for them.
What do I think? I think no one on here knows 100% what is going on and we are just trying to piece things together.Do you think the aytalloah being killed (if it did happen) is a win somehow as well? If what this guy says is true it would appear Iran was already in a pretty weak position if there are these insiders that are looking to make deals with the west. It seems to fly in the narrative about how they are a nation of 79 million warriors that could easily resist Israel and the US that you had been pushing. What do I think? Has been predicting that it is all an inside job. That Iranian moderates have worked out a deal with the west that they can put on a show, take out the hardliners, but not have a complete full pro-west govt. installed that will satisfy China with oil sales and satisfy Israel with less threat. Maybe that is all that we are seeing, is just this theatre and it is all planned ahead.
He is basing this off the market moves, as he is a market expert.
A strongly-worded paragraph of condemnation on EU letterhead is forthcoming.
Because this war is as much political as physical. Unlike Israhell Iran doesn't hold the whole world by the balls so can't afford to behave blatantly arrogant. My money would be on effective weapons. I don't think moral high ground has ever won a war. Just look at Israel.
