^ Keep in mind the TA was a Chinese mainlander that was only here for university so isn't going to have the typical attitude and stances you would expect from a typical American academic. She isn't going to be as programmed about what is rightthink and what is wrongthink. I think she wasn't even aware that there's a taboo in American society about mentioning that Jews are influential or in control of many of the institutions in the US. She was saying "isn't it true Jews control a lot of the US" in the same she would have been talking about how Americans like fast food or that Chinese people tend to be shorter.
