The problem is the debts are now so large that higher interest rates would bankrupt the US government and many corporations also.

You cannot go bankrupt if you can print as much currency as you want and the rest of the world accepts it as trustworthy.
I understood that cutting off the millions of recipients over 120 years old would improve SS spending quite a bit. Also lots of illegitimate SS under 120 as well.

That can't work forever. Eventually it drives up inflation and interest rates. You have to print more and more and more, and the real economy starts shrinking due to the chaos.
The problem tends to get worse gradually, then suddenly. The US is already at the point where suddenly is starting to loom over us.

Interest on the debt is reaching 25% of tax revenues. It wasn't like that 20 years ago.
What happens if it gets to 50% of tax revenues? 50% inflation to compensate? The situation is getting worse, not better.
Very high inflation and higher interest rates are here though! The crazy spending didn't really start until the Obama years, and got compounded during Covid. But it's in the nature of the thing that it will increase in severity faster and faster, unless drastic action is taken. Food is getting dramatically more expensive very fast! I've bough the same type of ground beef for years, and it's gone from about 50NOK (5USD) to 85NOK (8.5 USD) for 400 grams in under 2 years. That's 70 percent more in less than 2 years for the standard price, and wages have only gone up about 10 percent meanwhile...

When the situation becomes financially hopeless, you will notice almost all (((small hats))) quietly leave the USA in mass numbers.

Elon has a large amount of bitcoin. All of his electric cars and Rocket engines could vanish and he’d remain the world’s wealthiest man. It seems more likely that eventually someone, either Tesla, uber or Google will make robot driving cars and will have a trillion robot taxis driving around
