This looks like Hubris. I can imagine what he has in mind when he says SEC stands for S___ Elon's C___. It's understandable to joke about that in private, but not smart to do it in public.

He's the richest man in the world, who is planning to open the Solar System to humanity, and save the world from excess reliance on fossil fuels, and he is also planning to reorganize the US government and save free speech world wide. He needs to be careful to avoid excess pride. Pride goeth before a fall.

He had previous issues with the SEC. When he twitted Tesla was going to receive an investment to take it private. I think it was from Saudi Arabia or some middle east.

Bezos is so dumb. SpaceX is privately owned by Elon Musk!

I have been seeing jeff betas in a very different light since early 2019 when he literally lost US$ 37 billion in a divorce settling suit for cheating on his wife with a middle-aged indian woman (and not even of the jackpot" nor the "foreign blessed" kind). when that came out, I realised that he hadn't only gone insane with power; he had foresaken every shred of his humanity when it hit him that he had amassed more wealth than he could handle and worldly pleasures could no longer entertain him. money in excessive amounts can do worse than corrupt a man, it can inflict the worst of deaths on the inside.

for contrast's sake, compare this with 1997 jeff bezos, when he was still human:

I know that this is an Elon Musk thread, but I just had to throw this in.

To be fair, his ex-wife wasn't pretty either.

My friends and even my mom would look at me strange, if that were my girlfriend.

And his current chick is all plastic. I really don't think money is his issue. He just has weird taste in women. Many celebrities, pro athletes and successful people are like that. It's the average Joes who are the pickiest.

Anyway, sorry for derailing too.

In the case of Bezos, there’s also something to be said for marrying a woman who knew and loved him before he accumulated all that wealth.

That’s a point that some guys don’t consider as they date for marriage as they get older. You encounter more gold diggers even if they outright say they aren’t. They want you for the wrong reasons, and many times wanting a ‘successful man’ is just a euphemism for being a gold digger. Some women are also extremely skilled at hiding that fact for years.

Its a jungle out there and in my opinion better to stay single than choose poorly.

Agreed

Doesnt even have to be about the money I've dated women with their own money who were worse than a woman after my money because they hide who they are, at least the woman after my money I knew what she wanted and could get away before the snake bit me. A woman who stood by you, was loyal and trustworthy is valuable. A woman that only stands by you when it's convenient to her life and can't be trusted is worthless.

It will haunt Bezos for the rest of his life, he fucked up now he has to deal with it.

His OG wife looked like just a nice smart college girl who gave him kids, stood by him all they way so you can't call her a gold digger. She almost looked quite decent when she let her hair grow long.

Now he has some plastic doll who's been all over town.

Passport bros wouldn't even exist, if men were genuinely attracted to someone like his ex-wife. Actually, all "dating advice" would instantly become obsolete, if that were the case.

That said, I do agree with the notion that millionaires and billionaires are better off settling for the woman they can really trust, as opposed to testing the market and looking for a prettier woman that's only interested in his money.

You guys don’t have any idea what his marriage or wife was like. Maybe she was a bitch around the house and hadn’t had sex with him for three years.
On one hand you can put stock in the fact that she got with him before he was successful and maybe there’s some loyalty there. On the other hand she’s not likely to be impressed by him at all because she’s seen much more of him than where he’s at now. I remember seeing an interview with Eminem’s long time girlfriend and mother of his daughter who had known him since they were teens. She said ‘I could never understand why he had stadiums full of girls worshipping him. To me he was just Marshal’
