Live Nation CEO Michael Rapino thinks that concerts aren't nearly as expensive as they should be.
Musicians and fans aren't in a good spot right now. The former suffer from high touring expenses and unreasonable label demands that often leave them penniless or in the red, while the latter have to shell out a hefty sum to attend the live shows of their favorite bands.
Michael Rapino, Live Nation's CEO, thinks otherwise. He's certain that concerts should be more expensive than they currently are. Speaking at CNBC and Boardroom's Game Plan conference, Rapino stated that people have no problem paying large amounts of money for sports. Still, somehow concerts are a problem (transcribed by Ultimate Guitar):
"I think music has been underappreciated. You know, I always joke, sports - it's like a badge of honor to spend seventy grand for a Knicks courtside. They'd beat me up if we charged eight hundred for Beyoncé, right?"
Rapino continued:
"It's a real…it's very under… We have a lot of runway left, right? So when you read about the ticket prices going up, it's still – average concert price is $72. Try going to a Laker game for that. And there's eighty of them or whatever the hell."
"So, the concert is underpriced - has been for a long time."

I don't believe we are in a disgusting country. We have problems like the rest of the world but they are small compared to many countries.
For being a disgusting country I sure as shit don't see you leaving.

Did you ever ask yourself why your father and grandfather could afford to raise a family on one income, while today a young couple can't buy a house in most cities with both of them working?
We are living on planet Blackrock, and Hegseth, Patel, Witcoff, Bessent, Rubio and co are their gophers and PR agents.
I can afford to raise my family on one income.

I know lots of folks who live on one income. Both rurally and in the city/suburb.
Plenty of people CAN afford a house, just not the 500k perfect home they all want.
Typically the biggest complainers on that subject are the same people who aren't married and don't have kids.
I'll add, that removing illegals will go a long way in reducing inflation and helping real wage growth...

Yes removing illegals will help a lot. As would stopping or at least minimizing legal immigration as well. Immigration needs to stop altogether for the western countries to have any chance at recovering. Central banking/fiat and immigration are the two biggest factors destroying the standard of living in first world countries.

You live in rural Texas or thereabouts, ymmv, but for the majority in the US home prices are out of reach for first time buyers. The situation is worse in Canada, Australia, UK, France, Ireland, NZ etc.
This graph from 2024 is already outdated, for instance the median home price in TX is now 350k.
I am a homeowner, my personal situation has no bearing here, my observations are about the big picture.
Also, $2 trillion in student debt, and spiraling health insurance costs.

I know for a fact that we live in a disgusting country. Everything here is about consumption, which is directly downstream from addiction, which is the modern term for sin. I remember the 1980’s USA very well, and the country was much better and not all about consumption back then. So, not only is this country disgusting, it is trending strongly in that direction, meaning it will only get worse until the bough breaks and then things really bottom out.
Our problems are very large compared to many other countries. I would not only consider the USA one of the most disgusting countries in the world, our govt users our military to spread this satanic ways of living across the globe. This is why over half the planet rightfully calls the USA the “great satan”. That very accurately describes what the USA has become. Putin's speech on it in May of 2023 at the Victory Day parade sums it up very nice and probably too politely.
I enjoy very little here, I am surrounded by mindless consumers using some form of a drug to pacify their inner needs. I rarely come across people who are not some form of addict, whether that is sugar, shopping, alcohol, drugs, porn, or escapism. I feel bad and pray for them, it isn’t their fault they are trapped in this satanic system. I am very blessed to experience this, it is taught me very well and pushed me down a stoic path that has lead to self discovery the likes I would have never expected. But I don't want to spend my entire life around this disgusting way of living and if I have kids, I don't want to raise them in a world where it is all they know, and they fall into it, no fault of their own.
The reason I have worked 7 days a week for 25 years straight is just to get out of this country. I told my story of how this desire came about 26 years ago this very month. I have been praying nightly for God to find the right path for me and this desire is now burning in me. So, I do believe it is what God wants for me. But due to the economy being a disaster, it will take a little longer.

You've said that you have done very well for yourself one minute then the next that the economy is a disaster.
Again I think it's excuses and self sabotage.

Sure hasn't affected me, I still own my own home, invest, and have a large family.
