Thought to open up the discussion on AI and the impact to our future employment, standard of living, lifestyle etc going forward. So recently Elon noted in a few interviews that he felt work will be “optional” and not essential as AI should eventually provide a high income UBI to everyone, then you just work if that is what fulfills your days. So economics 101 tells me that when everyone has same high income, then consumer spending increases and then the supplies of goods and services can’t be met, and then price of goods goes up. Resulting in inflation then your purchasing power dwindles and back to same struggle as most people are currently facing.
Does anyone think that when AI begins to push sectors of the employees out of the workforce and UBI is established that people will have the same “social security” and same standard of living? Can you still afford to live in same home? Afford a family trip each year to same destinations as prior years? Same budget for groceries/food choices?
I have a strong hunch that for a large segment of Americans their existence will be abruptly changed for the worse. Despite Trumps populist pushback on the globalist agenda, it still seems that WEF plans for the human race are still on the same course to 2030 as before, just using the AI as their tool to get there. Maybe they’ve always known that AI would be the way to achieve their world governance goals. I feel that I’ve probably got 5 years max before AI pushes me out of my job, and although I may be able to find another job, it most likely will be a completely different skill set, and it will probably be less pay, longer hours and worse benefits than I currently going. Being in my final 1/3 of my career before retirement, Once I get pushed out, most likely that will be end of work for me. Just need to get to 59.5 years old to be able to pull retirement funds without penalty.
