Bitcoin and Crypto Thread

Good for you?

You don't make money by holding it. You make money by dumping it onto some poor fool.
You are still thinking in fiat. The price in fiat is merely a reflection of the decreasing value of fiat. We do not consider fiat to be money, any more than you would consider Zimbabwe dollars to be money

None of us are selling bitcoin for more fiat, anymore than you would sell USD to get Zimbabwe dollars

This is just a normal characteristic of any investment vehicle. Real estate works exactly the same way. Stocks as well. If you're going to play the morality card on 'poor fools being taken,' you should be addressing gaming slot lounges and online sports betting.
And to me, bitcoin is not even an investment. It is not making money -
1 btc = 1 btc

The wild appreciation in fiat terms is not a result of greater fools; it is the symptom of fiat debasement.

STOP thinking in terms of fiat. Start thinking, and pricing EVERYTHING in bitcoin.

It's funny to me that people still act like, given all that's happened and increased adoption, by every sector of the US economy - of BTC - they still act like it's 2015 and it's not legit. It's sorta like when it's 300k, people still saying something like "it's not real." Or, "gold is better." lol

That's not true at all. How can you possibly compare stocks and real estate to a digital token? Stocks are partial ownership of actually companies with real assets and real earnings. They can return profits back to shareholders or reinvest the profits back into the business. You can make money just owning stocks and collecting dividends. Owning real estate allows you to collect rent money.

I'm posting here in order to help stop some men from getting taken to the cleaners. As far as I know, this is the only gambling thread on the forum.

You specifically made a point that bitcoiners make money by "dumping it onto some poor fool." That's not an isolated characteristic of Bitcoin. And you infer this with a sense of morale superiority. Which if you are genuine about, would better be applied to other areas of avarice that ACTUALLY fleece people of their money.

Now you are flipping the script to be about the investment type itself. I know Bitcoin is not a physical house I can live in. And I know what the value product of real estate and stocks are. You don't seem to understand, the value proposition of an uneditable, continually auditable ledger, that is uncorruptible. Okay. But don't tell us we are only in it to fleece suckers. And how many people here even want to sell their Bitcoin? The trend I noticed is the opposite. Everyone here is going to hold on at all costs. Which I guess means you think WE are going to get fleeced. Thank you for your concern.

Give me a break. You're here to virtual signal.

Now over 1 million BTC is held in ETFs.
You don't seem to understand, the value proposition of an uneditable, continually auditable ledger, that is uncorruptible.
Maybe more importantly:
- It has a "virgin birth" in that Satoshi isn't around anymore and there's no company or person you can prosecute, imprison, murder
- It is the crypto currency with global network effects. A critical mass of humans have decided it's valuable.

Bitcoin is honestly a little bit like a religion. As long as there are followers, especially a growing number of followers and wealthy individuals, it has to keep gaining steam.

And it requires faith. Not many people have the programming, cryptographic, economic, and computer science background to completely understand how bitcoin works or how it will evolve. The majority of us have to learn as much as we can understand, learn from people who do have such expertise, trust them to some extent, and ultimately take a leap of faith. No man is an island. Trusting bitcoin requires some level of trust in your fellow man, though far less trust than almost anything else.

I’m heavy into crypto. 90% of crypto buyers get absolutely slaughtered .

They just hodl too long, thinking their coins will keep going up forever while in a state of euphoria. Then the bottom falls out and they drop 90% in one day

For the small market cap coins I’m taking profits and putting them into safe stocks like Walmart, McDonald’s, Exxon, chevron, Verizon,

It’s going to be all over in a matter of months. Btc hit a new all time high just now right around 80,000 per bitcoin.

The meme coins are already flying . And so is sui. I regret not buying more memes earlier but so it goes

Ai coins will likely pump after memes, then utility coins. Layer 1s and layer 2s. I don’t think gaming coins will get much of a pump, they are all hot garbage

Good luck with the carnage! Dont forget to take profits
