You might be surprised how many men do that...

In other news......

I have a feeling that, somehow, no matter who wins we will continue our economic down-slide. And it'll be "Trump's fault."
Probably some truth here. But at least with Trump’s win we can all ride the “lib tears” euphoria bus one last time….

(Also it would be nice to see our countrymen rebuke the moloch worshippers.)

Guys, those of you who are now in the US. What is the feel in the air and among the people there? Is there a sense that these elections are decisive regarding the future and everything is at stake?
Or is it just media hype, and actually nobody cares on the ground as we are used to in cynical Europe?

People care but they're also jaded because they know they can't do anything to stop the endless shenanigans.

Lately my line is "I obviously prefer one over the other but in the end none of them give two shits about us" and while in past years some may have argued with me this year everyone seems to agree. Then depending on how that goes I'll usually comment something about we all need to go back to Christ and even more surprisingly is that most have also agreed lately!

Reporting in from a very blue town, there's a feeling that everyone has already early voted. We're just waiting for the waves to hit the wall now.

As long as you ignore the pre-written narratives trying to give Harris a boost, it seems like whatever boost she'd had (real or not) is gone and everyone has given her a fair evaluation. I just wish some of these endorsements (Rogan, Paul, etc) had some months ago when people started to vote.

The only hope I have about them not rigging swing states are because Trump might get so many votes that it will become not feasible for the dems to rig swing states.

They gave Biden a “record” amount of votes. I think Trump will get more votes than previous elections. So imagine how many they will need to fabricate to make Kamala win. They realized it’s not feasible and gave up.

We can only pray it will not happen again.

I’d ignore anecdotes, exit polls, “vibes” etc today. I learned it’s all BS. In 2004, exit polls convinced all of us Kerry won, then W actually won. In 2012 I was convinced Romney beat the gay Nigerian based on “vibes” and anecdotes of long lines in the right places etc. it meant nothing.

Wait for tonight.

MAJOR WIN: The U.S. Department of Justice agreed last night not to enter Texas polling and central count locations or otherwise interfere with the administration of Texas elections just hours after Attorney General Ken Paxton sued the DOJ over its announcement that it would send federal agents to "monitor" Texas elections. Texans run Texas elections, and we will not be bullied by the Department of Justice. The DOJ knows it has no authority to monitor Texas elections and backed down when Texas stood up for the rule of law. No federal agent will be permitted to interfere with Texas’s free and fair elections.

PA MAIL RETURNS 11/5: Election Day Edition

D lead is 419,578, they increased by 7K. I don't know if we get another update today. Likely not with the election coming but this could change depending on what is dropped off or received by mail.

Rs have essentially caught up in return rate and I would expect them to pass Ds up...but we won't know for sure until after today. Ultimately, these are great numbers for Rs to be in for the voting today.

D: 1,037,783 (55.26%, Down 0.18%)
R: 618,205 (32.92%, Even %)
Total RETURNS: 1,877,992

Return Rate:
D: 86.40%
R: 86.36%

D to R differential: 0.04% (-0.25%)

Yes - I live in the DMV area though, so the people here tend to very political. Living amongst them provides a good window into the mind of your average effete, urbanite lefty. A lot of them embrace politics to the point that it's a core part of their identity and most of them despise Trump with a passion.

I think both sides very much believe that the future of the country is at stake this time around, in a way that wasn't true in previous elections. I don't expect immediate riots if Trump wins but I think our country is going to experience a heightened level of chaos over the course of the next four years if he does retake office.

I'm not sure I really believe they'll allow him to retake office though - given that the media has consistently presented him to the public as a threat to democracy; an evil villain on par with Hitler.

Or is it just media hype, and actually nobody cares on the ground as we are used to in cynical Europe?

If Trump loses, I think you'll see a lot of men start to completely check out - that's when you'll see wide spread cynicism about whether voting matters at all anymore.
