I'm just a bystander in this conversation, but I'd like to interject. After 2020 the title "Dr." was shown to not mean much. I've been on a journey maybe others have been on far before me, but I realized we should be looking to the virtuous for wisdom - not the "sCieNcE", or whatever else titillates the pride like a title of "Dr.".

I think Jones received his PhD in the late 1970s or something. Should he have stopped using his title it after 40 or so years because second-rate universities started giving these diplomas out?

That's fine but it's not what impresses me. Knowledge is fine, wisdom is better. Look, I do think he has some wisdom; I'm just no longer impressed by titles that are ego driven like Dr. The title "Father" is much more impressive in my mind.

Why all the crapping on Notre Dame in relation to Jones? Jones craps on Notre Dame all the time. The point was that Buttgig's dad was an endowed professor there so it actually makes sense that it's as sick as you mentioned.

I think because it's blurry when non-clinical doctors are referred to as "doctor". Especially those in academics. I've personally always felt that it was corny as well. It doesn't take away from the fact that they have a PhD or whatever but to go by that in public is strange.

I’ve heard people get angry with chiropractic doctors for this as well.

To be fair, I personally think there is a lot more work involved in gaining a PhD than completing a medical degree.

She's not a good politician. She responded in the worst way possible. This is why she's losing. Someone with a modicum of intelligence who is able to think on their feet could have played this off better instead of instinctively saying something damaging.
This is why she isn't allowed in public without a list of prepared statements for every issue. She can't be trusted to just talk off the cuff.

It could also be that they feel secure enough in their position to openly spit in the face of Christians and not face any repercussions for it, at the voting booth or otherwise.

One more proof that the Donald is about one hundred times more fun and friendly than the awkward and at best homely Kamala.

Impressive also how Trump can, at the same time, work, poke fun at adversaries, and good-humouredly talk politics with patrons. He's multitask indeed, whereas Biden and Kamala aren't even basic single-task.

I think in general each generation of politicians seem to be degrading. Obama's policies were dumb as hell but at least he was well spoken and could articulate why he had the policies he had, whereas Biden and Kamala could not even answer basic questions. And even Obama was a step down from Bill Clinton. Again Clinton had a lot of dumb policies but he was well spoken and charismatic.
