Anyone know how to get the tarnish off this watch?
I have this old 50's era breitling that I put a nylon strap on, I wear it as a casual every day watch. I don't like a big clunky fancy watches unless I'm dressed up for it. Been wearing it for years and all of a sudden I don't know if it's tarnishing or the finish is coming off or what, I'm not sure if it's nickel or stainless, doubt it's silver. I don't want to take it to my watch guy because he takes 3 months to do anything, they're all like that around here. I would just go get it dipped at a jewelry store but I can't get the movement out without pulling out the stem and I don't know enough about watches to do that. I tried gently with a toothbrush, soap and water as I read that may work....I have to be careful I'm assuming it's not waterproof, but it didn't do anything.
Anyone have any ideas, something I can try before I just go to a jewelry store and see what they say....I've had zero time during the day lately.
Thanks fellas
