US Border Crisis

The logistics of mass deportations are immense and are why funding the government is pretty critical right now:

U.S. immigration detention facilities have reached capacity at about 47,600 beds, a top-level U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) official said on March 12 in a call with reporters.

The federal government is now seeking more bed space for detained illegal immigrants, added the official, who requested anonymity as a condition of the call.

ICE is now expanding its capacity with support from the Department of Defense, the U.S. Marshals Service, and the Federal Bureau of Prisons.

Currently, ICE has funding to support an average bed space of more than 41,500 detainees, the official said, adding that ICE is working with lawmakers to obtain more funding to increase capacity.

Throughout the 2024 campaign and after taking office, President Donald Trump vowed that there would be a mass deportation of illegal immigrants. Trump said that such a move is needed after the high volume of illegal immigration under the previous administration.

Trump issued executive orders targeting illegal immigration and bolstering security along the U.S.–Mexico border. He has directed ICE agents to step up enforcement actions across major U.S. cities, with top officials including border czar Tom Homan saying they are targeting illegal immigrants with criminal histories or who are a threat to public safety.

Orders and directives that the administration has carried out include declaring a national emergency along the southern U.S. border, halting some refugee admissions, ending the previous “catch and release” policy, requiring people who are seeking asylum in the United States to remain in Mexico while waiting for court hearings, limiting the temporary protected status of people from certain countries, declining to recognize birthright citizenship, and other measures.

The number of encounters with illegal immigrants at the southern border has dropped significantly since Trump took office in January, according to recent data.

Multiple lawsuits have been filed to challenge Trump’s order ending birthright citizenship, and several judges have blocked the order. On March 11, the First Circuit Court of Appeals upheld a federal district court’s block of the order and denied a motion from the Department of Justice’s legal team to immediately overturn the district court’s ruling.

Another directive that has been challenged in court is Trump’s decision to send some illegal immigrants to the U.S. naval base at Guantanamo Bay in Cuba. Earlier this month, the American Civil Liberties Union filed a suit to block transfers to the base, which had been used to house terrorism suspects following the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks.

Some of the illegal immigrants who were sent to the base have already been deported from Guantanamo Bay to Venezuela, officials have said.

Homan said on March 4 that more funding is needed to continue the crackdown on illegal immigration, including for more beds and deportation flights.

We need more beds, we need more enforcement assets, we need more air flights. This operation is going to cost money,” Homan told reporters at the White House. “We’re hitting on all cylinders, but we need more money to do more.

Notice the bottom of the article. Tom Hooman is begging for more money like a homeless man. It's that bad. I'm afraid not funding the government right now means we'd have to accept 20 million more illegals.

And how are these deportations supposed to happen without funding?

Serious cognitive dissonance on this forum.
Cognitive dissonance? Am I some congressman depriving the Trump administration of funding? Are the American people, who get raped by foreigners and their own government day in and day out, depriving Donald Trump of funding? That’s the government that takes half their paychecks, and spends the money promoting faggotry around the globe. We know all about that now. But it’s my responsibility to see that you get funding though huh?

Maybe the administration shouldn’t make promises it can’t keep? If you’re dependent upon other people to give you something before you can act on a commitment, maybe you shouldn’t be making any pledges.

We’ve all heard the “we would have done something but we couldn’t cause the bad guys wouldn’t give us the money we needed to do it!” excuse our entire lives. I’ve heard it from faggot cops at fundraisers in the guise of “we’d be stopping crime but we just need more of your money!” And yet I never heard of a cop who couldn’t hand out a traffic ticket in his brand new cruiser because of a lack of funding.

Dude this is like Uncle Eddie telling Clark Griswald about all the gifts he’s going to get him for Christmas and then asking Clark to spot him the money.

Also, did you forget where you are? You’re talking to random people on the internet who have normal jobs and lives that have nothing to do with logrolling for votes on some spending bill that I’m sure has been packaged up with a load of shit as usual. You need funding for your project? Great! Go fetch!

The numbers are self explanatory. Trump’s mouth is writing checks his administration can’t cash. No excuses.

It's just one excuse after another with you. I'm not sure what the hell is going on here? Are you serious? Explain it to me like I'm 5 when we are taxed on every single aspect of our lives (sales tax, property tax, state tax, federal tax, cigarette/alcohol tax, gas tax) and then you say there is no funding for the President's agenda(s). Bullshit. Get creative, bypass congress, lie, cheat, steal, crowd source the funding, donate a billion dollars of your own money to the effort and ask all of your rich friends to do the same. Anything but this soy-laden divide and conquer JQ propaganda. Trump with his jew daughter and jew son-in-law and jew daughter-in-law and jew grandchildren can find funding for jew Israel and jew Zelensky but not for Christian American's who are being overrun by illegals? And to add insult to injury your boy is beefing up "antisemetic" laws and working with jew Musk to censor free speech on X. Yet you claim Trump (and Vance) can't call out the JQ because, "Meh, meh, meh, wah, wah, wah, wah, it's not time, and they can't or they're finished and nothing will get done except Trump's impeachment." When the real reason they can't call out the JQ is because they work for the JQ.

A shocking level of ignorance from the both of you. The last funding bill was passed under Biden and most of the priorities were set by the Democrats.

Your criticisms would be valid in perhaps a year from now, but, after a new administration is put in, with ZERO bills passed so far in Congress (they just finished with appointing Trump's cabinet two weeks ago), there is absolutely no way to fund any of the things Trump was elected to do.

You're like two spoiled children in a long car ride, who, after two hours, start screaming at their parents asking, "ARE WE THERE YET?"

Both of you are doing nothing but whining, with zero patience or understanding of how the political world works. Things take time to process and build. Get real if you think otherwise.

REPORT: Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller secretly orchestrated the Venezuelan gang members' flights to El Salvador to get the criminals out of the country before an activist judge could take action.

Brilliant.

According to Axios, the Trump administration *ignored* the court order demanding that two planes filled with Venezuelan gang members turn around.

The Trump administration says the flights were already over international waters, therefore the ruling didn't matter.

"Miller 'orchestrated' the process in the West Wing in tandem with Homeland Security Secretary Kristy Noem. Few outside their teams knew what was happening," Axios reported.

A senior White House official told Axios that the Trump admin is looking forward to winning the case at the Supreme Court.

"This is headed to the Supreme Court. And we're going to win."

Today, the first 238 members of the Venezuelan criminal organization, Tren de Aragua, arrived in our country. They were immediately transferred to CECOT, the Terrorism Confinement Center, for a period of one year (renewable).

The United States will pay a very low fee for them, but a high one for us.

Over time, these actions, combined with the production already being generated by more than 40,000 inmates engaged in various workshops and labor under the Zero Idleness program, will help make our prison system self-sustainable. As of today, it costs $200 million per year.

On this occasion, the U.S. has also sent us 23 MS-13 members wanted by Salvadoran justice, including two ringleaders. One of them is a member of the criminal organization’s highest structure.

This will help us finalize intelligence gathering and go after the last remnants of MS-13, including its former and new members, money, weapons, drugs, hideouts, collaborators, and sponsors.

As always, we continue advancing in the fight against organized crime. But this time, we are also helping our allies, making our prison system self-sustainable, and obtaining vital intelligence to make our country an even safer place. All in a single action.

May God bless El Salvador, and may God bless the United States.

Serious cognitive dissonance on this forum.
This administration has had no problem using creative financial strategies to turn Obama era programs into instruments for auditing, terminating empoloyees and shutting down rogue agencies.

Not to mention the billions/trillions saved from wasteful spending

And deportations are a drop in the bucket compared to all of that.

This isn't an issue of abilities or funding, it's an issue of will. The blueprint for using current funding to be redirected has already been employed, they can use it for this.

Pretty sure it doesn't work that way. Money appropriated must be spent in their proper departments, and the money saved from cutting agencies won't kick in until much later. Notice how all of the employees laid off are still given large severance packages. The money that was originally spent is already gone, the savings are being calculated in future packages.
