Tanker transit through the Strait of Hormuz has slowed down considerably. Contrary to some reports the Strait is still open for maritime traffic but the volume has dropped significantly.
Unconfirmed for now, but several European news sources are saying the Strait of Hormuz has been closed!
Twenty percent of the global energy consumption travels through this Strait, mostly towards India and especially China.
A client vessel was called on VHF and told by the 'Sepah Navy' and told that the Strait of Hormuz is now closed: "From now on, no ship of every type is not allowed to pass from the Strait of Hormuz, from now on the Strait of Hormuz is banned for all ships, this is Sepah Navy out"
'Sepah' refers to 'Corps' in IRGC. At least three ships have U-turned from transit via the SoH.
I thought those ships in the US would have been the first targets. There was some news about Iran acquiring hypersonic missiles (recall the ayatollah's tweet about how a weapon that can send a carrier to bottom of the ocean is more dangerous than then carrier) from China and I thought those would have been employed if available since the best way to really sour the US public on the war is an image of one of those ships going down. The counter argument would be that Iran is holding back because they don't the situation to escalate things even more but this has to be weighed against the other possibility which is that they simply can't escalate further or respond.
What is the point of this post? You think he is lying?
To use their cheap/small stuff to drain our air defense systems, just like they did last time. Also, in a war, you try to never expose your flank, or in the modern world, let the other side see everything you have when there is a chance to avoid it. Just like Russia not showing us everything they have in Ukraine.I was talking about earlier about how Iranians could be holding back but I can't imagine why they wouldn't want to take out those US warships right away if they had some of those Chinese hypersonic missiles available. What would be the plan behind purposely holding back now and letting American/Israeli forces operate at full capacity and risk more damage and get to the point where you might not be able to retaliate properly (assuming you the ability to do so in the first place)?
If they had hypersonic missiles they would use them.To use their cheap/small stuff to drain our air defense systems, just like they did last time.
