The Japan Thread

English media and the most pozzed Japanese media are painting this as a big nothing - that it was all planned and it's just the way Japanese politics are. But I can tell they are scared, and anyone who has been paying attention the last 10 years can probably feel it as well.

Last night, within 20min of the announcement, there was already a all hands on deck press attack on Takaichi who is pretty stubborn conservative who supports things that western minds cannot comprehend - war heroes, strong family units, no same sex marriage (and absolutely zero adoption), and a massive spotlight on immigration. I don't know anything about her but in my experience if there is a full western media attack on someone, it generally means something has (((them))) spooked. And it's a known fact that the largest supporter of pride Tokyo is the Israeli embassy, who also support the many shady NGO's currently flooding into Tokyo pop culture.

It's OK to feel optimistic, and if someone was to black pill me on places like Japan it just might break me. There are only a handful of places left that I have visited that give me peace and optimism, and my own country being one of the worst places gives me a level of dread that I can't shake. So let's stay cautiously optimistic!

I feel they're using the poopoo people as a catalyst against "white" people immigrating to Japan (or just investing).

Not saying the honorary Japanese should not have their opinions of course, you have your own people and country and it should stay that way.

What is fanservice?
Basically anything that can be described as the author deliberately adding eye candy or scenes purely to please the audience rather than something essential to the story and plot.

Beach episodes, random panty shots, main characters tripping over love interests on stumbling upon them while undressed, or scenes of characters in their general routine.

It also includes more general things, like references, 4th wall breaking, even comedy gags in a serious work, or music when it's the scenes focus.

So apparently leftists think Japan has pedo culture because older Japanese men (who aren’t retarded like western men) prefer prime aged women over old hags?

Just like with calling people Fascist because they are slightly less leftwing than them, leftists call people who like women under 25 paedophiles because it gets a reaction.

In this case, it's not even real women. It's just drawings. Which is the concerning part to me, I've heard that paedophiles have been caught trying to draw attention to drawings of young characters in anime as a way to deflect blame and police attention from themselves. Apparently there is a large list of people that criticised anime on twitter and were later arrested for possession of child porn.

Afterall, if police are being called over drawings, that uses up their time and attention.

Notably the UN tried to get Japan to censor anime at the same as they were having a scandal for sex abuse in the UN peacekeepers.

Apparently there has been a bit of a degradation recently in the urban sphere in Tokyo, homelessness, grafitti, trash...

I tried to buy a restaurant and half a town in rural Japan but they wouldn't let us in because their visa system is totally outdated and honestly, clown world with what they're going through now.

Indians are everywhere now there too... How did I get denied? I don't shit on streets.

I don't think I quite understand.

The comments to this video have a bunch of expats who live in Japan, saying that there have always been bad neighborhoods with homeless, graffiti, etc. They say it is better now that it was 20 years ago.

I know Japan is much more orderly and safe, but it's not surprising it has at least some bad areas.

Same expats who're saying Japan is xenophobic and needs to open up? I don't recommend listening to expats in any country unless there's a swastika in the background.

I've been to Japan. I didn't see any graffiti anywhere except for Kobi, Osaka and Tokyo. Guess what they have in common?

I'm sure local Japanese teens do spray graffiti but she's not defending them. You know damn well she's running cover for the migrants, trying to claim the problem is overexaggerated or some other BS, that it's all part and parcel.

I should've been more clear. I wouldn't have met the criteria for permanent residency.

It's actually very hard to get in to Japan as an entrepreneur unless you just want to be an English teacher and work 60 hours a week for little money which unfortunately I'm too old for / have four young kids etc.

* There are other routes of course but they take a long process and are almost impossible to navigate in my situation.

There are several issues here. They are pushing Japan to accept dirt world immigrants, which would be a mistake. Unfortunately, some have been admitted, with predictable results.

As a separate topic, Japan probably has very little urban decay, and very few Japanese trash living in poverty and squalor. However, I suspect there is at least some poverty and squalor at least somewhere, dating back before any dirt world immigrants arrived.

I doubt anyone visiting Japan would come across this poverty and squalor unless they really look for it, which few would do.

I think the person who made this video wanted to find the rare instances of squalor, and made a video about it. That's basically what the comments to this video are saying.

If Japan keeps allowing dirt world immigrants, I'm sure that squalor will soon become much more widespread.

I jumped the gun a little with my first comment, my apologies, but what I was trying to convey is still valid.

Immigration is a hot button issue, especially due to the deteriorating conditions. This woman [at the end] says she doesn't want to point any fingers, essentially covering for migrants. She presents various issues like they're major flaws with Japan, while saying Japan is overromanticized [which is true]. She does it in a way that subliminally blames the Japanese, like they're losing it. I can only interpret the video as being in bad faith, which is par for the course with leftist expats.

She complains about the graffiti. Like I mentioned earlier I've only seen graffiti in cities with substantial immigrants. I'm no expert on Japanese graffiti but what she shows is very abnormal compared to the rest of Japan. The Japan I've seen is still very stereotypical. Orderly, clean, taking pride in appearance, shy, etc.

It's very disingenuous [in my eyes] to present Japan like it's experiencing extreme moral decay. It is decaying no doubt, but not to the point where Japanese people are throwing garbage on the street.

She also brings up very niche well known issues. She brings up the prostitutes lining a single street, and a tiny place nearby where homeless kids hang out. This has nothing to do with Japan, it's literally some local trivia for that particular neighborhood.

For full disclosure, I didn't like Japan. Didn't like how I was treated, didn't like how everything is set up, didn't like their attitude and overall felt like that part in an RPG where you walk into a town and everyone is acting weird, like under a spell. It's visually gorgeous, it's clean, functional and quite interesting but the other stuff wore me down.

So unless someone want to prove otherwise, don't believe this video insinuating that Japanese people are living like pigs now and the government doesn't care. These leftists pull the same deflections in the west too when it comes migrants.
