War in Lebanon

I am hearing more and more that Israel is going to pull out of Lebanon. It appears that this ground offensive has been a failure for them. My guess is they will continue to bomb and kill civilians and wear the people down from a safe location and wait for the USA to be brought in to do the grunt/dangerous work on the ground.

Yup. They are too cowardly to risk their own lives. I actually don't see US troops getting involved anytime soon, but the US will be happy to fund another forever bombing campaign.

"The Israeli Army once again tried to advance towards the village of Khiam in southern Lebanon, after being forced to retreat two times in the past week.

But they retreated again after falling into two ambushes, West and East of the Khiam outskirts.

Evacuation helicopters are now roaming the area, trying to evacuate the dead and wounded under the cover of smoke screens."

From what I've been reading, there's a detention center in the village which makes a good stronghold - concentric walls, thick concrete buildings, watchtowers. They'll have to bomb it to the ground if they want to move forward.

Israeli citizens fleeing. Hezbollah flexing.

The other even more important outflow is the number of Israelis who have fled abroad. Some from fear, some from economic fallout of losing their job or business, and some who don't want to live in a country at war. Up to a million Israelis have left. So the plan to ethnically cleanse Palestinians and Lebanese is backfiring badly, they are in fact ethnically cleansing themselves.

The downside of course is that these people are going to resettle in the West or in Russia...
