War in Lebanon

I'm guessing Israel is waiting until after the election to force the USA to fight their war for them. Can they make it another 20 days?

The range of that shoulder fired missile is way beyond what I imagined was capable. I figured you had to be within like 100 yards to hit a tank with a shoulder fired missile. Makes one think that tanks are almost outdated when seeing this footage.

That's an NLOS - Non Line Of Sight - missile designed for extended ranges. It transmits video feed via fiber optics cable (in this particular model), allowing the operator to control its flight path. They're on a larger side - the missile itslef is larger than a shoulder fired variant, and it requires a stabilized launch and control module for the operator to keep control of the missile. 2-men team required.
As for the future of tanks on the modern battlefield, filled with ATGMs and loitering munitions, it will depend on how effective active protection systems (think miniature anti-missile systems mounted on tanks/armored vehicles) are.
That merkava in the video, had the Trophy APS, but it was most likely disabled, since the tank was at home.

Missiles and drones really have been game changers in recent conflicts. Seems like ships, tanks, and regular manned aircraft are all obsolete, or can only be used way behind the front lines, to launch missiles and drones.
