US Border Crisis

We haven’t talked much about it on this boards, but it’s been in the news about 4 days now Abrego Garcia, is a ms13 gang member, deported to his native country of El Salvador and placed in one if their Supermax prisons.

For the past few days, the fake news media is calling him a Maryland Resident who had his civil rights violated and was mistakenly and illegally deported and the Supreme Court has ordered his return to the USA .

None of that’s has actually happened. .

A Maryland senator Chris van Holde has gone so far as travel to El Salvador and get photo ops with Garcia and vow for his “safe return to the United States . “

Which is comical. Garcia is a El Salvadoran citizen, currently in El Salvador.

He does have a wife in the USA , she is a USA citizen. Jennifer Vasquez Sura.

A judge had ordered that he shouldn’t be sent to El Salvador because of rival gang dangers. Since he was deported to rl Salvador, the fake news is doubling down on the narrative that the deportation must be illegal and Garcia must be returned to the United States. President bukele has stated that will never happen.

An activist judge, is working to try to get Garcia back into the USA, and that isn’t happening.

Here’s the gofundme me image, not putting up a link for obvious reasons, but they have collected over $230000 to try to “return” Garcia to the United States.

I hope this is the rock upon which the ship of the Democrat party is dashed!

This has actually been showing repeatedly on all Spanish news networks these last few days. Among all the things you said, the news keep trying to hammer that "he might be a gang member but has no criminal record".

This is honestly quite laughable. To join any major gang you need to perform criminal acts on some level. In addition to that just because nothing has been reported or documented does not mean that they have not occured. I'll go even further in saying that keeping his wife around in the US is a major threat since it is now known that she has ties to MS13. The only reason to keep her around would be to try and get rid of or identify any connected associates. But keeping her around OR even worse bringing him back will severly damage this country's credibility even further and only strengthen the resolve of any criminals. If you know that you can break or threaten the law blatantly and count on virtue signalling citizens of the host nation to aggressively go against their own interests and the interests of their fellow citizens just to bail you out then any reservations on following the law go right out the window.

I would just add that the fake news is lying as usual, I'm sure they haven't asked the El Salvadorian authorities if they have any info on this guy. I bet he has a huge rap sheet which is why they are keeping him in the SuperMax prison.

I doubt he has a huge rap sheet in rl Salvador. As he moved to the USA, illegally when he was 16.

Ms13, yep. Illegal alien, yep. Drug distribution, yep

Here is the official statement from homeland security

Abrego Garcia was illegally in the U.S. and had a lawful deportation order.
- Garicia was arrested and found with rolls of cash and drugs.
- Garcia was arrested with two other members of MS-13.
- Two Judges found that Garcia was a member of MS-13.
- Garcia’s wife petitioned for an order of protection after instances of domestic violence.

This is an extremely strange hill to die on, that the left(both media and politicians) are choosing to focus on. The judge that originally signed off on the deportation order says he wouldn’t be safe in El Salvador because of rival gangs, another supermax facility could take him in another county. The media blitz is repeatedly saying this makes it an illegal deportation , it means any legal usa residents and citizens could get deported, which is preposterous.

If law officials such as senators and judges are trying to get him freed, and back into the USA, aren’t they committing a crime? Aiding and abetting a convicted fugitive and terrorist?(edit I’m not a lawyer, but openly assisting a drug trafficker and gang member/terrorist sounds sus but again I’m not a lawyer)

Not just a gang member.
MS-13 was designated as a terrorist organization.
The bottom line, and it's a simple one, is that he was here illegally. They've all gotta' go. Throughout my life I have had all sorts of negative interactions with hispanics who should not be here including one pulling a gun on me and dozens of them illegally cutting into and syphoning off my business/income. Bleeding heart liberals must be re-conditioned/programmed to understand the term "illegal." We can't show any mercy or "exceptions" to the rule. Enough is enough. Logical consequences for one's actions must be reinstated. It's called the rule of law.

What is the first thing Garcia’s wife should do if her husband is ever brought back to her? The dishes if she knows what’s good for her.

Right. At a minimum, trumps justice department ought to be trying to get Senator van Hollen (and any judges trying to get Garcia moved from El Salvador to the USA), on trial and convicted for violating the Logan act.

Only 2 people were ever put on trial, neither convicted for Logan act violations.

What is the Logan act and why would it apply to the Garcia crusaders?

Prohibition of Unauthorized Diplomacy:
The Logan Act, codified at 18 U.S.C. § 953, makes it illegal for US citizens to engage in correspondence or intercourse with foreign governments without the authority of the US government.
Intent to Influence:
A key element of the Logan Act is the intent to influence the actions of a foreign government in relation to a dispute or controversy with the United States.
Penalties:
Violations of the Logan Act are felonies, punishable by a fine and/or imprisonment for up to three years.
Historical Context:
The Logan Act was enacted in response to a situation where a private citizen, Samuel Logan, attempted to negotiate with France without the authorization of the US government.
Allegations of Violations:
Throughout history, the Logan Act has been cited in connection with various political controversies, including accusations against figures like John Kerry, Ross Perot, and more recently, Donald Trump.
Limited Enforcement:
Despite its existence, the Logan Act has rarely been enforced, with only two individuals ever being prosecuted, neither of whom faced conviction.
Symbolic Significance:
The Logan Act is often seen as a symbolic measure, designed to prevent private citizens from undermining the US government's position in foreign affairs

Essentially, any private citizen trying to dictate foreign policy to another country would probably be violating the Logan act. Realistically it could probably be used to stop Senator van Hollen or activist judges from pursuing the matter of ending Abrego Garcia’s imprisonment in a foreign county . But again I’m not a lawyer
