The Trump-Vance Administration (The People Who Work For Trump)

Inside the battle with Elon Musk taking on Donald Trump and congressional Republicans trying to pass the president's signature tax reform legislation.

Trump is not happy with Musk's broadsides against the bill. He's making the point privately that Musk's attacks reflect how he's now focused on his business interests.

What about the future of their longstanding strong relationship?

"Too soon to tell," an official said, while noting Trump forgives but he does not forget things like this.

You can’t balance the budget without raising taxes or cutting social security and Medicaid/medicare. If congress did such a thing, they would get blown out in the midterms and Trump would be a lame duck,

I mean, eventually we need to do the painful tax raising and benefit cuts, but it’s political suicide. And you can’t make these fixes with tens of millions of illegals still here.

Our more pressing need is to seal the border and kick the illegals out . The OBBB has money to finish the wall, hire more ICE agents etc.

Musk is behaving like he did during the H1B Christmas debate. T says Musk is half genius, half little boy.

Whatever.

Keep the EV/solar incentive cuts in the bill, even though no oil & gas subsidies are touched (very unfair!!), but ditch the MOUNTAIN of DISGUSTING PORK in the bill.

In the entire history of civilization, there has never been legislation that both big and beautiful. Everyone knows this!

Either you get a big and ugly bill or a slim and beautiful bill.

Slim and beautiful is the way.

I don't think Elon is dumb enough to take public swings at Trump like this, without having a good reason. He's either seen data showing how the majority of USA really thinks or there is something more going on behind the scenes. This is way too off character, unless he thinks he can endrun Trump and take over MAGA al la 'Dark MAGA'...

I’m going to hard disagree here. If, and that’s a big IF we decide now to have our government start loading up on Bitcoin and can sell it off in 10+ years, we can indeed pay down the debt.

You can make the case that the government would screw this up somehow . So long as they buy and hodl it will work,

And you can’t make these fixes with tens of millions of illegals still here.

Yes we must kick out all of the illegals(seems to be in progress) as well as all of the h1b indentured street shitting panjeets( getting rid of them is more of a pipe dream)

Our more pressing need is to seal the border and kick the illegals out . The OBBB has money to finish the wall, hire more ICE agents etc.

Yeah that’s where some of the money from the big beautiful budget bill will go.

We will never get an answer to any of this. Elon has always done what he wants and says what he wants

This is true but the bill could definitely be much better.

The problem is that there are too many RINOs in Congress that would never stomach even small cuts.

Musk doesn't understand politics, there's no point in killing this bill. This bill is the best our shit Congress can do.

If you want a better bill, then you need a greater Republican majority, and you need better Republican candidates. Screaming at Trump won't fix anything because there's nothing Trump can do about this situation either. Congress sucks and winning these Congressional seats is almost impossible since there are so many dumb and treacherous voters out there.

Congress reflects the population and the population is corrupt. Crying about it on twitter isn't going to change anything. If Musk wants to fix things then he should start campaigning now for 2026.

For what office? Governor? Senator? Congressman? And in all seriousness, isn’t musk in a better position to work behind the scenes, instead of a figurehead running for office?

I didn't say he should run. Campaigning means working to get other people elected. With his resources he could make a Super PAC and support candidates that reflect his agenda.

Gotta wonder why Musk unfollowed Stephen Miller. Disagreements over H1B visa?

Elon's drama continues...

Trump is now reportedly seeking to steer his administration toward a more diplomatic and economically driven approach in the region, with moves underway to ease sanctions on Syria and reopen negotiations with Iran.

According to sources familiar with the changes, the president is looking to replace outgoing officials with voices more aligned with Vice President JD Vance’s anti-interventionist stance, in an effort to reassert White House control over West Asia policy and curb Israel’s internal influence on US decision-making.

Former National Security advisor Mike Waltz was among the first to be pushed out after reports that he had coordinated with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on a potential pre-emptive strike against Iran – without the approval of the White House.

However, Waltz was quietly reassigned as US Ambassador to the United Nations.

Merav Ceren’s removal drew particular attention, given her well-known ties to Israel’s military. Before her role at the NSC, she had worked with Israel’s Ministry of Defense and was closely linked to the Foundation for Defense of Democracies (FDD), a Washington think tank known for its hardline stance on Iran and vocal support for Israeli military campaigns in Lebanon.

Eric Trager, another official on the chopping block, had long been vocal about his hardline views. An Iran hawk who authored critical work on Qatar and the Muslim Brotherhood, Trager held a relatively low-profile role within the NSC but symbolized the ideological faction Trump is now sidelining.

Former US envoy Morgan Ortagus, who led US policy on Lebanon, sparked backlash after publicly thanking Israel for “defeating” Hezbollah during a visit to Lebanon’s presidential palace. Her aggressive push to disarm the group drew criticism from Lebanese officials and raised concerns about undermining regional diplomacy. Though she reportedly sought to take over Syria policy, the role went to Trump ally Tom Barrack.

The US president reportedly aims to cut National Security Council staff by half, a move that reflects his preference for a tighter circle of loyalists over traditional policy hands, consolidating decision-making around trusted allies.

Behind these moves lies a growing rift between Trump and Netanyahu. Insiders suggest the Israeli leader’s push for military action against Iran clashed with Trump’s renewed interest in deal-making. The shakeup appears designed to dilute Israeli influence in Washington and reassert Trump’s control over US strategy in the region.

Trump’s Iran policy remains a moving target. After news broke that the administration had offered Tehran a deal allowing low-level uranium enrichment, Trump swiftly denied it. The contradiction reflects the internal tug-of-war still playing out within his reshaped foreign policy team.

Mark Levin was at the White House today, lobbying for war with Iran. To be clear, Levin has no plans to fight in this or any other war. He’s demanding that American troops do it. We need to stop Iran from building nuclear weapons, he and likeminded ideologues in Washington are now arguing. They’re just weeks away.

If this sounds familiar, it's because the same people have been making the same claim since at least the 1990s. It’s a lie. In fact, there is zero credible intelligence that suggests Iran is anywhere near building a bomb, or has plans to. None. Anyone who claims otherwise is ignorant or dishonest. If the US government knew Iran was weeks from possessing a nuclear weapon, we’d be at war already.

Iran knows this, which is why they aren’t building one. Iran also knows it’s unwise to give up its weapons program entirely. Muammar Gaddafi tried that and wound up sodomized with a bayonet. As soon as Gaddafi disarmed, NATO killed him. Iran’s leaders saw that happen. They learned the obvious lesson.

So why is Mark Levin once again hyperventilating about weapons of mass destruction? To distract you from the real goal, which is regime change — young Americans heading back to the Middle East to topple yet another government. Virtually no one will say this out loud. America’s record of overthrowing foreign leaders is so embarrassingly counterproductive that regime change has become a synonym for disaster. Officially, no one supports it. So instead of telling the truth about their motives, they manufacture hysteria: “A country like Iran can never have the bomb! They’ll nuke Los Angeles! We have to act now!”

They don’t really mean this, and you can tell they don’t by what they omit. At least two of Iran’s neighbors — both Islamic nations — already have nuclear weapons. That fact should scare the hell out of Mark Levin. Yet for some reason he never mentions it. How come? Because it’s not the weapons he hates. It’s the ideology of the Iranian government, which is why he’s lobbying to overthrow it.

It goes without saying that there are very few Trump voters who’d support a regime change war in Iran. Donald Trump has argued loudly against reckless lunacy like this. Trump ran for president as a peace candidate. That’s what made him different from conventional Republicans. It’s why he won. A war with Iran would amount to a profound betrayal of his supporters. It would end his presidency. That may explain why so many of Trump’s enemies are advocating for it.

And then there’s the question of the war itself. Iran may not have nukes, but it has a fearsome arsenal of ballistic missiles, many of which are aimed at US military installations in the Gulf, as well as at our allies and at critical energy infrastructure. The first week of a war with Iran could easily kill thousands of Americans. It could also collapse our economy, as surging oil prices trigger unmanageable inflation. Consider the effects of $30 gasoline.

But the second week of the war could be even worse. Iran isn’t Iraq or Libya, or even North Korea. While it’s often described as a rogue state, Iran has powerful allies. It’s now part of a global bloc called BRICS, which represents the majority of the world’s landmass, population, economy and military power. Iran has extensive military ties with Russia. It sells the overwhelming majority of its oil exports to China. Iran isn’t alone. An attack on Iran could very easily become a world war. We’d lose.

None of these are far fetched predictions. Most of them comport with the Pentagon’s own estimates: many Americans would die during a war with Iran. People like Mark Levin don’t seem to care about this. It’s not relevant to them. Instead they insist that Iran give up all uranium enrichment, regardless of its purpose. They know perfectly well that Iran will never accept that demand. They’ll fight first. And of course that’s the whole point of pushing for it: to box the Trump administration into a regime change war in Iran.

The one thing that people like Mark Levin don’t want is a peaceful solution to the problem of Iran, despite the obvious benefits to the United States. They denounce anyone who advocates for a deal as a traitor and a bigot. They tell us with a straight face that Long Island native Steve Witkoff is a secret tool of Islamic monarchies. They’ll say or do whatever it takes. They have no limits. These are scary people. Pray that Donald Trump ignores them.

I don't know. I'm convinced there is at least $1 trillion in spending that I would personally cut on sight. That's what DOGE set out to cut. I think Trump was on board initially, and so were many others in the new Trump administration.

However, the real powers-that-be took each of these people aside and told them they'd be zeroed out the way Kanye West was, unless they toe the line.

I don't know where things stand with Musk. He did bend the knee to the jews, and go pray at the wailing wall. However, he really does have the most competitive electric car company in the world, and by far the world most advanced rocket company. When he had the first successful capture of the Starship booster just before the election, I think that tipped the balance to get Trump into office. Also, his purchase of Twitter really has been a free speech victory, in spite of some criticisms that can still be brought against it. Is it better than before? Oh yeah!

So, I think Musk has a very strong independent power base with his wealth and accomplishments, and he is one of the most powerful media personalities in the world, on the most powerful media platform, which he owns. I think at this time he is standing against "they", the people who somehow force everybody else to give in.

He wants to go to Mars, and he sees "them" standing in his way.
