The Trump-Vance Administration (The People Who Work For Trump)

I think we should just do one per topic, rather than a catch-all for DOGE. We already have a thread for the Woke and Obese Military, we can do another for education, we just made one for USAID, etc.

Otherwise the DOGE thread will be 1000 pages long in 4 years.

I'm thinking that maybe the USAIDs thread should be renamed to DOGE thread to cover the waste, fraud and abuse uncovered in all departments and institutions, not just in one of them.

Or maybe make DOGE a category name, then any DOGE-related thread can be created for each department, organization, etc. For example:
DOGE
--USAID
--FEMA
--Department of Education
-- " of Defense
--etc.

This would create a dozen new threads, all of which would gradually die-out with DOGE audits moving from one department to another - it's already beginning to happen with the USAIDs thread, while the results of other audits (like FEMA for example) are posted in the Trump-Vance thread where they're lost between all other updates.

I think it's fine to keep one thread.

Some say we can't do that because we'll end up with 1000s of posts in a thread. However, that doesn't bother me at all. It's not that I see it as a trade-off I'm willing to accept. It just doesn't bother me in any way to have a thread with a high number of posts.

I like just going to one thread and seeing all the current events related to that topic.

One thread to rule them (waste, fraud and abuse) all.

DOGE subforum at this point?
I believe the DOGE related topics in the news will flare up and die down quickly, as the focus moves from one department to the next. If you create a bunch of separate threads, most of them will end up dying out when the action moves on to other departments.

I say keep all DOGE related discussions together, or better yet, leave them all in this thread.

Key takeaways from Trump’s press conference:

- Will be looking at the IRS
- Car tariffs are coming soon
- Would love to have Russia back in G7
- Elon Musk’s DOGE is doing a great job
- Deadline to ban TikTok could be extended
- Taiwan took our chip business—we want it back
- Not concerned about countries shifting business to China
- Wants talks on military spending cuts with Russia & China
- No need for producing or stockpiling new nuclear weapons
- BRICS nations playing with the dollar could face 100%+ tariffs

Note: I had seen and read Tom Renz's thread (via his Twitter/X page) a few weeks ago when he looked into Trump's EO regarding DOGE. Renz's a legit hardnosed lawyer who gained attention and recognition during COVID Pandemic (i.e., he helped/represented people who were affected by taking the COVID vaccine).

DOGE: "Legally untouchable because it was already fully funded and operational. Congress can't defund it because it's not a new program, just a repurposed one. Since the (prior program) was originally an IT oversight program, DOGE now has full access to all Federal data systems. Yes, that's right. All of them."

Lets pray it's enough not to be overturned or stopped in some other way.

Seeing updates and posts of JD Vance's speech at a Munich Security Conference in Munich, Germany. Apparently, he is shredding the European countries on their mass migration problems, freedom of speech being criminalized, elections, etc. He also called out the Munich Conference for refusing to allow Populist Parties to attend.

Europe is panicked about Trump giving away the store on Ukraine. So does @VP show up in Munich to reassure Nato allies about siding w them v Russia? Nope, he uses remarks to lecture "EU commisars" + other European countries about allegedly censoring speech, weakening democracy.

Scolding European overreax to "disinformation" when there's a hot war down the road -- about as reassuring as Trump calling for Russia to rejoin the G8
