So why the German shepherd and not the other two dogs still running around outside?

I read that the front door to the house was left open. Maybe they intended for the dog to get out, but for some reason the dog ended up exposing itself to the killing agent, whatever it was.

If it was double suicide, I think the wife did it. Under this theory, Gene was failing and she could see that she would soon be facing the grief and loneliness of widowhood, possibly including watching him suffer before the end. She may have decided to skip all that.

I highly doubt he would have gone along with her killing herself, so it would have had to have been her as the instigator. That would make it a murder-suicide rather than double suicide.

I think most of them have retreated from the industry.

Tommy Lee Jones is one of the few of that type still working, albeit infrequently, and he smartly keeps a low political profile (he endorsed Gore, but that was his college roommate at Harvard).

Tommy Lee Jones is one of the few of that type still working, albeit infrequently, and he smartly keeps a low political profile (he endorsed Gore, but that was his college roommate at Harvard).

Surprisingly, despite the Kylo Ren character, Adam Driver fits this profile. He is 6'2", the son of a Baptist preacher from Indiana. He is 100% white, no jewish blood, and he served as a US Marine. Currently age 41.

John Krasinski is another. He's from Boston, with an Polish father, Irish mother, raised Catholic. 6' 3", age 45. He studied English and Theatre straight out of high school, so that makes him kind of a weenie, but he's been playing masculine roles lately.

It's still fairly rare. There've been times a few years back when I considered this question and couldn't think of anyone. Also, I can't think of any younger actors that fit this profile at the moment.

The answer is, no not in Hollywood. Even in "foreign" cinema these types are being weeded out unfortunately.

I guess you'll have to look at Russian cinema which is primarily masculine, even Japanese. (We're going off topic here though)

Agreed -- Randy is losing it despite the fact he has called out how evil Hollywood is. We will never know what really happened to Hackman, his wife and their dog. Whole thing stinks.

Huh? Maybe he's losing it because everybody is claiming he's losing it because he's saying what you're saying which is the truth and yet everyone is calling him a liar. Stating uncomfortable truths and being called a liar is enough to drive anyone crazy.
