If both are dead, and no foul play expected, then double suicide is a logical possibility.
The link provided doesn't provide any evidence or clearance only speculation.
Who kills their own dog in the act?
CO poisoning is a real thing in winter and not only with old people.
Btw I'm not criticizing one of our brothers just the source.
The night my grandpa was dying, his dog died too. It's assumed the dog understood what was happening, what with the family gathered around grandpa in his final hours, and it was too much stress for the dog.
It's hard to say if that's what happened here. In fact, I doubt it. However, it certainly reminds my of when my grandpa and his dog died.
Grandma lived for many more years, though.

Very, very often with celebrities, the real cause of death is never revealed if they died in a strange way.
Just look up the cause of death of famous people like Matthew Perry, Bob Sagat, David Carradine, Gary Coleman, and Michael Jackson just to name a few.
The man was 95.
Man, I was literally just thinking about Matthew Perry the other day. He and I were spitting images of each other, back in his younger days. I was really sad to see him go.

Yes, but his wife was 63, so it's suspect she died on the same exact day as him, unless they decided to go together.

Double suicide of Hackman and his wife which I yesterday hypothesised as the likely cause of death looking more likely
That doesn't explain the dead German Shepherd though.
Maybe it starved to death, their bodies were in the early stages of natural mummification.

Double suicide doesn't mean they killed themselves at the exact same moment.
One person can swallow a poison, while the other waits a few hours to see if it really worked effectively, then later takes the same poison in a different room.
So why the German shepherd and not the other two dogs still running around outside?
