The Off-Topic and Random Thoughts Thread(Anything Goes!)

This made me look it up to make sure I understood it correctly, which I did.

How does that relate to the video clip? I suppose he might have mixed up a quote, but what he said is kind of true.
There was a running gag in the show, where Little Carmine would try to sound intelligent and profound, ended up coming across like a buffoon, but his heart was always in the right place.

These Eye-tie malapropisms are funny. Show writers like to goof off with this kind of thing.

I think it was in season 1 when Tony was talking to his lady shrink when a line of dialog that had fallen off the back of an old Upton Sinclair novel from the Lanny Budd series was turned into one of these.

His erudite head shrinker obliquely referenced the location in the novel and then Tony butchered it later when repeating to his mother.

I think I'm going to start eating nothing but corn tortillas as it's one of the only food items I can still afford these days.

I've noticed that women these days who answer calls for a business don't even bother to say goodbye half the time. They just give the 'ol Hollywood Hangup when the conversation is finished.
"Business types" have a certain robotic quality to them. They avoid eye contact, smiling, waving, anything like that. Very empty. I guess that's why they say they're "all business." It also seems like the culture in general has shifted to where people are genuinely inconsiderate and will do nothing to extend friendliness, or there is even this expectation that everyone is some rude asshole anyway so they will go out of their way to pre-emptively be rude to you first before you do it to them.

TLDR: those supermarket herb pot plants keep wilting because they have too many plants (sometimes 20 or 30)/seedlings in one small pot and the overcrowding causes them to not have enough space and die. Each individual seedling needs its own small pot to thrive.

TLDR: salt your eggs before cooking rather than after as they will have a better consistency and be less watery, etc.

From his description, the eggs that were seasoned before cooking were objectively better.

The guy in the video doesn't want to say Gordon Ramsey is wrong, but he makes it obvious that Ramsey is totally wrong.

I normally don't salt my scrambled eggs before cooking, but I will try it now. We'll see who is right.

Who let's their eggs sit for 10 minutes before cooking?

I crack 'em, whisk 'em, and into the pan they go. I don't think Gordon said anything about letting them sit.

I am a big fan of Ramsay's tip of adding a dollop of yogurt or sour cream or whatever before the eggs set; makes them lovely and creamy.

I can testify that yogurt with eggs is a great combo. I tried a recipe for “Greek” style scrambled eggs which included Greek yogurt, mixing feta cheese and dill in. It made a fantastic breakfast and everyone loved it too.

If you cook your eggs over easy or sunny side up, wouldn't the yogurt just be overkill at that point?
