The Japan Thread

Personally I believe any bachelor tax should really only be a bachelorette tax. Childless women should be taxed but not childless men. The reason marriages are not occurring is because women on average don't want to get married young. If women wanted to get married between the age of 18 - 25 they would have no shortage of men wanting to marry them. So the problem is largely caused by females hence they should pay the tax.

Tax rates are not going to change their behavior. They should instead have companies discriminate against hiring young single women, in favor of married mothers with teenage children who want to get back into the workforce.

Japan makes me laugh, just a country of contradictions.
  • Women go and pay predatory male entertainers for companionship.
  • Are an American colony, nobody speaks English.
  • Central Bank does everything in it's power to cause inflation, fails miserably.
  • Brown people are miserable there because the locals are so unfriendly.
  • Young guys are asexual, old guys are PDFs.
  • Going extinct, nobody cares.
  • Japanese pastime; watch people eat food and snacks on TV.

Brown people are miserable there, and?

I was curious so I took a look at it last night. It isn’t just attacks on single males. It’s attacks on anyone without children, including married couples. I don’t think it’ll do anything to solve the lack of young people in Japan having families

Going extinct? Japan has 120 million people or so! Call me when they're below a million...

It's true that the numbers on the whole are not catastrophic because they start from a very high base, Japan is an overpopulated mountainous archipelago, with a population almost the size of Russia's, crammed into highly urbanized small coastal plains.

But there are two major problems here, one that their population is becoming geriatric, and two, their youth aren't able to form families all the while due to solvable social and economic factors that their liberal government and society is failing miserably to address.

Australia, with almost a fifth of Japan's population, is now experiencing Japan-like fertility rates, and with that small population base they are at much higher risk of cultural extinction due to mass immigration, mostly from India, same as in Canada.

The low fertility rate in Australia would be okay if they did not fill the gap with migration and instead just let the population of Australia decline i.e. depopulate. Australia is a resource rich country. High level of natural resources + small population = high level of wealth and living standards per every citizen. Think Norway or United Arab Emirates, or Qatar, etc.

This is true for pretty much all western countries. Depopulation is not the problem, but rather replacement immigration! Less people means cheaper housing, better jobs, less crowding and noise, better food quality, cleaner air etc. At one point it will become tempting to have children again. But if your country is ruined by low IQ savages, not so much...

Once the population imbalance reaches a certain level (it doesn't have to be an overall majority - only majority among fighting-age men), the decline won't be peaceful anymore.

I think it will help, and, more importantly, the tax money used from childless people will be spent to support those with children.

Freeloaders (aka the childless) should be forced to contribute more to society in other ways if they refuse to do the hard work of rearing children.
