The Iran and Wider Middle East Thread

^Levin's goal is to start a war against Iran in order to shift US public opinion back towards Israel, whose image has taken a huge beating. Once the fists start flying in the Persian Gulf, a lot of the Republican Base is going to fall back into the neocon plantation, and the fact that US would take heavy losses in an Iran campaign is something that guys like Levin would relish just as much as they relished the killing of 3,000 Americans on 9/11.

I don't think it will work this time. Sure the 50+ year old conservatives might buy into it, but no one under 30 will support it, and it will cause a major backlash. It will eventually require a draft and that will be insanely unpopular.

I hope they are dumb enough to do it. Palestine has killed 7 Israeli soldiers this week and sent another estimated 100 to the hospital. Israel is getting desperate.
