BMI is just meant to be used on a societal population wide level it’s not useful on an individual level. In a population of 360 million (USA) how many Arnold Schwarzeneggers are there going to be? For every man that has a high BMI because he is jacked there will be at least 20 men who have a high BMI because they are fat. So overall it’s a good enough crude yardstick. It’s not feasible/economical yet for everyone to have access to devices which accurately measure body fat percentage, muscle percentage, bone density etc.Not saying there isn't an obesity crisis, but those metrics are pure slop.
After putting on a bunch of muscle, technically I'm obese, but my waste size hasn't changed. Before I was considered quite healthy and now muscle means I'm unhealthy.
Trust the Science!

LOL I literally said that in my first sentence....Don't mistake exception as rule. Just because you have some extra muscle, does not mean the majority of people in the US are overweight.
Ozempic and other drugs are starting to make a dent into this, demand for junk and ultraprocessed food had notched down in the US because of this apparently:
Wow, I have no idea what all that stuff is. I should probably figure it out because I think it's becoming super commonplace amongst the community I'm in too. Many women have suddenly lost weight. This is good less obese people the better we will all be but the GLP-1's worry me, I have all 3 sitting in my fridge semaglutide, tirzepetide and retatrutide.
They have some amazing benefits besides just curbing appetite especially the reta but I promise you down the line something is going to come out where there is some long term issue with them. Some people are using them indefinitely, you can't be on a drug that long that messes with your body that much and it doesn't have a long term issue.

It's sometimes incredible to me stuff like this just goes on, and keeps increasing. I mean does nobody really have discipline? It's insane.
I'm no paragon of health but I feel that way among my morbidly obese coworkers. It doesn't matter their age, some are around my age, others are decades younger, and they all have physical problems of one or the other. Then when I let it slip I've been doing the carnivore diet their immediate comments are things like "heart attack" "check your blood pressure" and a complete awe that I haven't had any vegetables in nearly a year. Meanwhile, they gorge on soda, sweets and junk food and only talk about food as something they can squeeze as much pleasure as they can get out of it. 2 o'clock will come around and everyone is yawning and struggling to stay awake when I'm just as solidly awake and fine as I was 30 minutes after I woke up. 5 o'clock comes around and they are ready to throw in the towel and I'm still wide awake and full of energy and I go home and do a workout, eat a simple meal, then remain active and alert until bedtime, when I fall asleep fairly easily and remain down the whole night, waking up refreshed. Also, my trying to be clean in my diet and workout and stuff is a "male midlife crisis" that "women don't get."
