The US foster and adoption system is tied to this. It’s where they get their victims. I’ve read redacted reports from some victims with “parents” in parenthesis and other tells. It’s not surprising that adoption is also heavily subsidized through our tax code.

We are one of the few countries that commodifies kids, erases their names and identities, and literally sells them to the highest bidder. Their birth certificates are often changed to their adoptive parents’ names and originals sealed. It is a dirty, manipulative business.
