The only reason Caitlin Clark (and the WNBA) became noticed is due to 2 factors: constantly manufactured controversy with some black wnba player (I dont remember the name) and black fatigue.
Controversy equals drama and attention and that is what gets people to have enough curiosity to check out your product even if they dont like it.
Companies are also starting to catch on that the general sane public is sick of the recent fad of destructive and discriminatory forced diversity initiatives in entertainment, the workplace, governement, and advertising that only represented the ugly, nonproductive, degenerate, violent, genuinely racist, parasitic, mentally ill dregs of society. Companies follow trends and are now well aware that Biden and his administration's disastrous influence pushing DEI nonsense is largely now being openly shunned and rejected so they've adapted their marketing strategies to squeeze profits from a different demographic now, the same demographic they villified and ostracized these last few years: whites.
Caitlin is nothing but a useful idiot serving as a marketing tool. Same as Sydney Sweeney.
Yes, the representation is nice (and appropriate considering Europeans and whites are usually considered the most productive members of society) but this is all in response and reaction to a new US presidential administration that is a total opposite of the previous administration's values.
Will this trend continue in 3 years even if a liberal democrat manages to weasel their way back into the White House? If yes, that means the general public and public companies/businesses have their heads on straight again priority wise. If not, then all this was just an act from both buinesses and society who only felt emboldened from the temporary "approval and protection" from an administration/nation's leader that openly vocalized what society actually feels in private but is too afraid to speak up themselves on an individual level.
Only time will tell.
